Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, Dec. 27 *Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) apprehended two fugitives in the 5000 block of Caves Hwy. at 3 p.m. Kanani Kurzet had a warrant from Medford Police Department for failure to appear for making a false report. Kurzet was cited and released to appear in Jackson County Circuit Court on Feb. 25, 2021. Kris Edward Anderson had a warrant from Marion County Sheriff’s Department and was detained in Josephine County Jail (JCJ) for failure to appear for obstruction/interfere with police. Monday, Dec. 28 Wednesday, Dec. 30 *A gal hired a parolee to do some work on her property in the 17400 block of Redwood Hwy. On Dec. 27 at 2 p.m. the trusting soul gave him money to go to the store, but he never returned with her supplies or her vehicle. A report was filed for unauthorized use of vehicle (UUV). *There was a disturbance at 9:30 p.m. in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. Camille Balahadia was charged with felony strangulation and detained in JCJ. *Denesia Wempen was cited for a lighting violation near Caves Hwy. and Laurel Road at 1:27 a.m. Wempen had a misdemeanor warrant from JCSO for three counts of failure to appear for contempt of court. Wempen was cited and released to appear in Josephine County Circuit Court (JCCC) Jan. 28, 2021. (Fourth time’s a charm?) *At 10:40 a.m. a guy went to pay his storage bill in the 25600 block of Redwood Hwy. and realized that his vehicle was no longer there. A report was filed for UUV. *A citizen reported a hole ripped in siding in a vacant building in the 100 block of N. Redwood Hwy. Jerry Allan Gunter had clothing scattered inside when he was arrested at 12:41 p.m. Gunter had a warrant from Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS) for failure to appear for possession of controlled substance (PCS) meth. Gunter was cited to appear in JCCC Tuesday, Dec. 29 *A fellow threatened to kill three dogs and their owners in the 100 block of S. Sawyer Avenue at 1:19 p.m. Morgan Brian Hansen had a misdemeanor warrant from JCSO for second-degree criminal mischief and second- degree theft. Pinedo was arrested at 2:45 a.m. in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy., then cited and released to appear at Jackson County Circuit Court 7 3 4 on March 3 at 9 a.m. *There was a disturbance at 10:03 a.m. in the 24300 block of Redwood Hwy. A gal in a black Subaru drove over bushes and nearly struck several bystanders. Sunday, Jan. 3 *There was a noisy verbal dispute in the 1200 block of Dick George Road at 2:16 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 *At 10 a.m. a family feud erupted in the 10600 block of Redwood Hwy. after a bully blew in a gal’s face, and she is concerned about COVID. *A non-English speaking individual was unable to find his blue Chevy Astro that was left at a gas station in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. A translator informed him that the Astro had been impounded Nov. 14, 2020. *At 11:57 a.m. a 2002 Toyota Rav4 was broken into and damaged while parked in a barn in the 200 block of Smith Sawyer Road. Missing items include a silver necklace and possibly toilet paper. The woman was advised to check pawn shops. (For her necklace, not the toilet paper.) *At 2:34 p.m. a chap used brain power, responded to a for-sale ad, and recovered his Lincoln Firepower welder that was stolen in Dec. from the 3200 block of Lakeshore Drive. *A character in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. thought people put an extension cord over her fence and zapped her dog in the hips at 3:51 p.m. She also believed that a private police force was after her, and that her spirit cat runs through portals in her home. Tuesday, Jan. 5 *A citizen thought she saw a body in the 3700 block of Holland Loop Road at 2:42 a.m., but she was afraid to check. Responders found a trash can near the roadway.
