Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, July 9 *There’s trouble brewing involving a guy on a blue Banshee quad in the 300 block of W. O’Brien Street. *The Smoking Duck lived up to the name when the 18000 block of Hwy. 199 was closed in both directions due to a fire at 9:51 a.m. *A resident in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. reported that a black .22 pistol with a brown handle and a Dickinson XX3D-M-2 12-gauge shotgun were stolen on June 1. The theft was reported July 9. *On July 6 at 11:30 a.m., a man placed his pistol on top of his car, then drove away from the 7100 block of Rockydale Road. Since then he has looked, but he has not found his Ruger .357 magnum 5-shot revolver, stainless steel with black polymer grip. (So much for gun control.) *Law enforcement seized a Taurus .25-caliber pistol as evidence from a gold-colored Honda Accord at 2:46 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. Bruce Sam Ridenour, 31, had a misdemeanor warrant from Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) for felon in possession of a restricted weapon. Ridenour was cited to appear in Josephine County Circuit Court (JCCC) July 25. Sawyer was cited to appear in JCCC Aug. 15 for felon in possession of firearm, altered ID number of a firearm, and unlawful transfer of firearm. *Juvies-in-training were playing ding-dong-ditch in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. They were counseled regarding disorderly conduct, and their parents agreed to keep a better eye on their children. Tuesday, July 10 *The “She said” side of the soap opera in the 400 block of Piller Place was presented to JCSO, detailing incidents which occurred July 4 and 5. Her version was that her land-lady violently kicked the bottom half of a bathroom door and threatened to hurt her. She claimed to have video of a man who damaged her car with a large piece of wood and smashed her windshield with a chunk of cement. *A con artist with multiple felony counts from Northampton, Pennsylvania was apprehended at 1:19 p.m. in the 300 block of N. Sawyer Avenue. Anthony Herman, 61, was detained in Josephine County (JoCo) Jail, charged with failure to appear for theft by deception x 20, deceptive business practices x 27, corruption of minor x 11, criminal conspiracy x 11, wearing a uniform and insignia x 11. *A fugitive with a warrant from Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was apprehended at 12:56 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. Matthew Merrifield, 31, was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, and two counts of second-degree burglary. Merrifield was given a temporary get out of jail free card and cited to appear July 25 in lieu of arrest. *At 1:22 p.m. a fellow was advised of options regarding trespass and restraining order at his mother’s home in the 400 block of Piller Place. *A large, tan mastiff-mix dog was running loose in the block of Turnagain Drive at 4:17 p.m. The canine chased a terrorized woman, who hid on top of her car. Wednesday, July 11 *The operator of a white Ford pickup truck drove away after it struck the passenger rear side of a white 2008 Hyundai Sonata at a gas station in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. on July 6 between 9-9:30 a.m. *An obnoxious guy was threatening to fight his neighbor in the 23800 block of Redwood Hwy. The bully had a history of entering the house when the babysitter was there, but adult residents were gone, even after he had been told not to do that. All parties were warned for trespass and advised of their civil options regarding a dispute over the property line. *A blue Toyota Camry with expired tags vanished from the Lorna Byrne Middle School parking lot between 2:30-8:30 a.m. Four tool boxes filled with Snap-on wrenches, ratchets and sockets also disappeared. A report was filed for first-degree theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle. *Law enforcement with Tasers scored a two-for-one after a chase near Dick George Road and Holland Loop at 2:37 p.m. Christopher Linn Williams, 34, was detained in JoCo Jail on an Oregon State Parole Board felony warrant for parole violation and weapons offense. Williams was also charged with third-degree escape and elude via foot. Jesse Clyde McIntyre, 37, was detained in JoCo Jail for a misdemeanor warrant from Deschutes County for failure to appear for criminal driving on a suspended license. McIntyre racked up bonus charges for elude – vehicle and foot, third-degree escape, possession of a stolen vehicle, and reckless driving. A stolen red Toyota Tacoma was recovered. Complainant, but has no clue who they are. *On July 10, a gal in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street heard a noise from her window screen at 2:30 a.m. She thought she was talking to her cat until she heard the click of a lighter and saw a blue light shining on her ceiling. Friday, July 13 *Notification was received at 8:37 a.m. of a deceased individual in the 11300 block of Takilma Road. *JCSO captured a fugitive when they contacted a man in a white Prius wagon parked in the middle of the lane at MP 2 of Illinois River Road at 12:05 p.m. Christian Michael Kuebel, 39, had two misdemeanor warrants from Medford Police Department for failure to appear for attempt to commit felony, felon in possession of firearm, and possession of restricted weapon. Kuebel was cited to appear in Jackson County Courts in lieu of incarceration. He was also cited for driving while suspended violation. *A woman was heard cursing and screaming at the top of her lungs for several hours most of the day near Deer Creek Road.
