Summer YCC Jobs Available at Oregon Caves
Oregon Caves National Monument and Preserve is
announcing four (4) positions in the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC)
program this summer.
The YCC is a summer employment program for young men
and women, ages 15 through 18, who work and learn together by
participating in conservation work on public lands. Successful
candidates will earn $10.75 per hour (Oregon minimum wage).
No housing is available. All participants must bring a lunch and be
able to provide their own transportation to and from the Monument.
However, there are many people that commute who you could ride
with.Work schedule begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. each
day, five days per week, with the exceptions of federal holidays, and
possibly, weekends. This eight (8) week job opportunity is offered
between the dates of July 2, – August 24, 2018.
Applicants must be in good physical condition. This work can
be challenging, yet adventurous, as well as strenuous, hot, dirty and
sweaty. If regular physical activity is not already part of an applicant’s
lifestyle, they are strongly discouraged from applying.

Two public meetings of the Budget Committee
of the City of Cave Junction, Josephine
County, State of Oregon, to discuss the budget
for fiscal year July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019,
were held at City Hall, 222 W. Lister Street,
Cave Junction, Oregon. The meetings took
place Thursday, May 31, 2018, and Thursday,
June 7, 2018, at 7 p.m. The purpose of the
meetings was to receive the budget message
and consider testimony in the use of State
Revenue Sharing Funds as proposed in the
FY 2018-2019 budget.
A copy of the budget documents are available
at City Hall, 222 W. Lister Street, between the
hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. (excluding noon to
12:30 p.m.).
