Charges can be amended or dis- missed.) *** Wednesday, March 14 *Folks were warned for alcohol and dogs off leash at Jubilee Park at 10:28 a.m. A second violation will result in a citation and trespass from the park. *A very tall, thin, middle-aged gal carrying a backpack and an orange bucket appeared to be scoping out anything not nailed down in a construction zone near N. Kerby Avenue and W. River Street at 10:54 a.m. *At 11:37 a.m., a screaming dame appeared to be building a fort in a drainage ditch in front of apartments in the 300 block of N. Hussey Avenue. *Brian Fletcher Ellington, Jr., 26, was taken into custody in the 2000 block of Rockydale Road at 1:50 p.m. on a probation detainer. *A fugitive with two felony warrants from Josephine County and a misdemeanor warrant from Deschutes County was detained in Jo Co Jail following his arrest in the 2500 block of Reeves Creek Road at 2:44 p.m. Jesse Clyde McIntyre, 37, faced charges of failure to appear for felon in possession of a firearm, criminal driving while suspended (DWS), and misdemeanor DWS. A deputy added charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, and second-degree trespass to the list. Monday, March 12 *Despite years of practice, the dude in the mobile home in the 9400 block of Takilma Road still sounds like he’s pounding on a bass drum, according to his neighbors. They were advised that the best option to move forward with a noise violation involves audio recording of the offending noise, as well as documentation of dates, times, and duration. (Just the facts, ma’am.) *Thousands of dollars of lumber, camping gear, a propane stove, and various tools were reported as stolen from the 400 block of Beebe Drive at 12:58 p.m. *Joseph Ainsworth, 39, was arrested in Jubilee Park at 2:48 p.m. for two misdemeanor warrants from Grants Pass Department of Public Safety (GPDPS). He was charged with failure to appear for possession of dangerous drugs/meth. Ainsworth was cited in lieu of being detained, and he is scheduled to appear on April 10 at Josephine County Circuit Court. (Bets, anyone?) Tuesday, March 13 *A probation officer decided to give his client a second chance, so he was released from custody at 2:03 p.m. in the 500 block of I.V. GUNS & AMMO 541-592-3349 WHERE’S THE ALARM? Thursday, March 15 *A good buddy found his friend’s stolen gray 1987 Ford F350 pickup truck in the 33000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 9:06 a.m. *A white 1986 Toyota 4-Runner with black tubular bumpers was stolen from the 37400 block of Redwood Hwy. at 10:28 a.m. The Toyota was lifted 4 inches and had a light bar on the front bumper. *At 1:26 p.m. a resident in the 300 block of Schumacher Street was provided with security measures because she has been robbed at least five times since November 2017. (Get a dog, get a gun, and set up surveillance video cameras. Not necessarily in that order.) *Crooks burglarized a residence in the 500 block of Schumacher Street March 9, but they bungled a return mission March 14. (Hmm, security measures from above?) Friday, March 16 *Logs not available. Saturday, March 17 *Two Cruella De Vil’s in a red Ford SUV tried to steal a dog from the 200 block of Barnes Way at 9:43 a.m. A fellow was hit by a car in the 100 block of Reagor Lane while he was trying to rescue his pup from the mean girls. He was injured and initially refused medical attention, but later went to Three Rivers Medical Center. A report was filed for failure to leave name at scene of an accident, and theft of the animal. The good news – he did get his dog. However, the previous weekend he spent 25 hours ‘fiddling around’ instead of packing. They were informed that this is a civil matter. *At 1:49 p.m. an alert vigilante spotted a stolen car and followed it at speeds up to 100 mph from Takilma Road to Dick George Road and Holland Loop. Matthew Merrifield, 30, had a felony warrant from Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for unauthorized use of a vehicle and second- degree burglary. Merrifield was cited to appear April 17 in lieu of arrest. Subsequent investigation determined that the vehicle was stolen out of Del Norte County, California. The registered owner is in Mexico and could not be reached by telephone. *Shawn Council Weaver, 29, was taken into custody at 4:17 p.m. at 112 S. Redwood Hwy. He was cited and released to appear at Jo Co Circuit Court for fourth-degree assault charges.
