A deputy will review video surveillance footage. *A 65-pound pit-bull mix named Max charged a neighbor in her carport in the 100 block of Pugetville Road at 1:28 p.m. Josephine County Department of Animal Control was notified. *The owner of a silver- colored Toyota Camry reported a hit-and-run accident in the U.S. Post Office parking lot at Deer Creek Road and Hwy. 199 at 3 p.m. on Nov. 13. The suspected vehicle is a full-size green truck, but there is red paint transfer on the Camry, which sustained damage to the front end, bumper and headlight. Monday, Nov. 13 *Deputies from Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) defused a domestic dispute in the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive at 11:50 a.m. *At 2:43 p.m., JCSO provided information to family members of a man who died last week in the 100 block of Ollis Road. Tuesday, Nov. 14 *A fellow in the 500 block of White School Road sold his 1999 Rock Crawler Jeep for $8,500 through a site called “Bisman.” The cashier’s check bounced, but since the vehicle was sold in North Dakota, a JCSO deputy assisted with filing the report. *At 10 p.m. on Nov. 12, an unshaved fellow with short curly hair was in the middle of the road at E. Lister Street and S. Junction Avenue. He was screaming, acting crazy, and wanting to fight. *Employees at 202 S. Redwood Hwy. chased away a crummy person who tried to break into the bakery with a crowbar at 11:40 p.m. An hour later he pedaled up on a small child’s bicycle, and again Wednesday, Nov. 15 *Jokers on Cowboy Way were feuding with slingshots against residents in the 400 block of Queen of Bronze at 10:19 a.m. *Wake-up calls by cannon shots were not appreciated by folks in the 400 block of Queen of Bronze. *People in the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive have a tumultuous relationship, resulting in a disturbance at 11:55 a.m., and an ongoing issue for law enforcement. *The driver of a white Jeep Cherokee ran several stop signs and was passing cars at 75-80 mph at 2:28 p.m. A deputy placed spikes near Hayes Cutoff and Holland Loop, causing the Jeep to crash into a fence near Takilma Road. Jamie Newberry, 32, was charged with felony elude, reckless driving, and second-degree criminal mischief. She was also cited for traffic violations of driving while suspended and uninsured. Newberry was detained in Josephine County Jail. *A gal pepper sprayed her boyfriend in the face during a domestic dispute in the 23000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 5:06 p.m. (What a tear-jerker.) Thursday, Nov. 16 *At 9:45 a.m., a deputy checked on occupants of a homeless camp who were visiting at 201 Caves Hwy. *More drama emanated from the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive at 10:39 a.m. *The owner of a Kenworth dump truck rolled forward and collided with a parked Chevy Camaro on Oct. 16 at 110 N Redwood Hwy. Damage was confined to the 1995 Camaro. Apparently, the aroma of autumn, and sounds of snipping scissors have mesmerized Illinois Valley. Friday, Nov. 17 Sunday, Nov. 19 *On Nov. 16, a Good Samaritan picked up a hitchhiker from the Whammy Bar in Grants Pass, and gave her a ride to Radio Shack. The woman, who was in her 50s or 60s, was wearing an Oregon Ducks sweatshirt, and green shorts. She did not appear to be homeless, but she had bare feet, so the concerned citizen *Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response assisted and performed CPR, but an individual from California was confirmed deceased at 9:30 p.m. in the 32300 block of Redwood Hwy. *On Nov. 18 at 7:05 p.m., a gal in the 200 block of Shadowbrook Drive heard a I.V. GUNS & AMMO 541-592-3349 WHERE’S THE ALARM? gave her a pair of house slippers. *At 12:45 p.m., a white 1991 Dodge Caravan was reported as stolen from S. Kerby Avenue and W. Watkins Street. It was last seen on Oct. 30. The transmission was shot, so the vehicle wouldn’t drive faster than 30 mph. *A woman who shattered a window on Nov. 16 returned to the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 1:35 p.m. She was wearing a camo coat, a green sweatshirt, and red pants with a black stripe. The gal was in her 50s or 60s, and wore blue and white hospital socks. When she investigated, she saw a big dent in her metal front door, and a chunk of cement ten or twelve feet away. On Nov. 4, there was a knife shoved into a post next to her vehicle. *A fugitive ran from law enforcement near S. Redwood Hwy. and E. Watkins at 11:13 a.m., but he did not escape. Robert Charles Breakfield, 53, had a felony warrant from Josephine County, and was detained in Jo Co Jail. Breakfield was charged with felon in possession of a restricted firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, failure to appear for unauthorized use of a vehicle, second-degree criminal mischief, and second- degree criminal trespass. Charges of third-degree escape and resisting arrest were added to the list. *Amanda Jo Briney, 29, was detained in Jo Co Jail following her arrest in the 100 block of Dogwood Lane at 1:35 p.m. Briney had felony warrants from Jo Co and Grants Pass Department of Public Safety. She was charged with failure to appear for possession of meth, second-degree burglary, first- degree theft, and unauthorized use of a vehicle. *Skyler Melton, 33, was detained in Jo Co Jail on a felony warrant for possession of meth. Stay in the home when cooking your turkey and check on it frequent- ly. Keep children away from the stove. The stove will be hot and kids should stay 3 feet away. Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids. The steam or splash from vegetables, gravy or coffee could cause serious burns. Keep the floor clear so you don’t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags. Keep knives out of the reach of children. Be sure electric cords from an electric knife, coffee maker, plate warmer or mixer are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child. Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children—up high in a locked cabinet. Never leave children alone in a room with a lit candle. Make sure your smoke alarms are working.
