Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, Nov. 5 *A fellow dressed in a blue robe and yellow and blue plaid pajamas was destroying everything in a kitchen in the 400 block of Addison Lane at 9:52 a.m. His wife left because of his temper problems, but she was concerned for the safety of her three cats. *At 12:31 p.m. an individual was loitering and dumpster-diving for clothing at 203 S. Redwood Hwy. *A fugitive was apprehended at 12:49 p.m. near Takilma Road and Holland Loop. Jaime J. Newberry, 32, was arrested for an Oregon State Parole Board felony warrant for parole violation and burglary. She was detained in Josephine County Jail. Monday, Nov. 6 *No good turn goes unpunished. A Good Samaritan saw a dead dog in the road in the 400 block of Caves Hwy. at 9:24 a.m. She went to a nearby house to tell them the bad news, and the fellow there said “Yep, that’s my dog” and shut the door. The largest of the 10 other dogs in the yard then bit her on the buttocks. *There were 17 cannon shots fired between 10:02- 10:30 a.m. from the 400 block of Queen of Bronze Road. The shooter may have been upset about a tree service cutting down a dead snag on neighboring property. *A scruffy bearded chap was seen crawling out of a ditch near Deer Creek Road and Crooks Creek Road at 4:48 p.m. He had a laceration on his forehead, but he did not recall what happened. He denied medical attention, and was given a courtesy ride to Kerby High Pines. Tuesday, Nov. 7 *Law enforcement was notified regarding a 74-year- old man who died in the 100 block of Ollis Road. *A dapper fellow wearing fishnet stockings and a plaid robe was strolling into traffic near Redwood Hwy. and Kerby Mainline Road at 2:02 p.m. *A gal with a felony warrant from Ashland Police Department was arrested at 2:41 p.m. near Caves Hwy. and S. Old Stage Road. Christine Anette Griggs, 55, was detained in Josephine County Jail for failure to appear on charges of manufacture, distribution, and possession of a controlled substance: meth. * Jon Paul Guches, 45, had a misdemeanor warrant from Medford Police Department for failure to appear for driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was apprehended at 2:47 p.m. near Kerby Mainline Road, and cited to appear in the Jackson County Circuit Court on Nov. 21. *Several hooligans ganged up on another juvenile at 5:02 p.m. at 409 S. Redwood Hwy. They all vanished by the time law enforcement arrived. Wednesday, Nov. 8 *Law enforcement was notified at 1:20 a.m. that there was a deceased person in the 300 block of S. Caves Avenue. *Folks in the 9300 block of Takilma Road continue to complain about loud drumming, barking dogs, and fireworks in the middle of the night. They requested that Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) please enforce the law on this miscreant. *Between October 30- Nov. 4, a house in the 200 block of Kirkham Road was burglarized and vandalized. The not-so-clever thief dropped an LG Smartphone on the ground next to the garage. *A gal in the 18000 block of Redwood Hwy. was selling a transmission for $525 on Craigslist, and she received a text message from Florida. The would-be buyer wanted the transmission sent to an address in San Diego, but the check for $1,090 was from Michigan, and it did not clear the bank. She was advised that this was a scam. (Crookslist.) *A Chevy Aveo with a punched ignition has been abandoned near a ditch in the 100 block of S. Hussey Avenue since Nov. 3. River Street reported that his 2015 Winnebago Vista was damaged while parked in his driveway between Nov. 5-6. Someone tried to break into the RV bathroom vent, and the exhaust fan assembly was dangling. A saw blade with a small wooden handle was left on top of the RV. *A landlady with property in the 200 block of Honeybee Lane stopped receiving rent payments. She found out that her tenant had died, but three squatters had set up residence. One of the freeloaders told her that she knew her rights, and was not planning to move. (Or to pay rent either, apparently.) The landlady was advised of her civil options regarding the eviction process. Thursday, Nov. 9 *A green vehicle with a black camper shell was overheating, and broke down near Lakeshore Drive and Redwood Hwy. around 10 p.m. on Nov. 8. When the owner returned two hours later, it was already gone. A report was filed for unauthorized use of a vehicle. refused to take responsibility. The company supervisor will be contacted. *A black Roadmaster bicycle with a flat gray rack was stolen from Briar Lane after 7 p.m. on Nov. 9. *Several people were arguing with a thin guy wearing a red hat at 5:21 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. They left, so he started harassing people in the bank drive-through instead. Saturday, Nov. 11 *Someone smashed in the front window of the store at 119 S. Redwood Hwy. between 8:30 p.m. on Friday night and 4 a.m. on Saturday. The gray-haired suspect previously threatened the shop owner, via telephone and in person at Carlos, in front of a lot of people. The vandalism may have been retaliation, because the suspect thinks the shop owner keyed his car, a very expensive-looking white Jeep Rubicon. *Visitors from Minnesota won’t find their vehicle where they parked it near a mining camp at MP 1.5 on Illinois River Road. It was packed with junk and miscellaneous personal belongings, but had not moved since Nov. 9. It was towed as abandoned at 1:29 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10 *Construction workers ran over and ruined not just one, but two, satellite dishes in the 27500 block of Redwood Hwy.
