*The driver of a white Nissan
Pathfinder could have used some
help finding his path in the 200
block of Kerby Street at 8:40 a.m.
First, he backed a U-Haul trailer
into a ditch. Once he maneuvered
out of the ditch, he hit a phone
company utility box, knocking
it into a yard. The motorist with
Washington plates was not even
aware that he had struck the box
until a deputy contacted him.
*An elderly woman placed
her tax payments in her mailbox in
the 4800 block of Lakeshore Drive
at 9:11 a.m. A gal wearing a hoody
drove up in a small red car, took
the mail, and drove off.
*A fellow was taken to the
hospital after being assaulted at 4
a.m. Oct. 22 in the 700 block of
Caves Hwy. He was working at
a medical marijuana grow when
a guy punched him several times
in the face. The fellow wanted
law enforcement to assist with
retrieving his vehicle, belongings,
and marijuana plants. He did
recover his vehicle, but Josephine
County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO)
does not help repo the pot.
*Tanks were vandalized in
the 100 block of S. Caves Avenue,
and two or three hundred gallons
of stove oil leaked into storm
drains. A report was filed for
first-degree criminal mischief,
and damages may total more than
$1,000.
*Between Oct. 21-23, a lock
was cut, and a shed was broken
into at a church at 209 S. Junction
Avenue. Stolen items include a
canvas canopy cover, four X4
Genesis bows and a box of arrows,
and four Daisy Grizzly BB guns.
(You’re going to shoot your eye
out, kid.) The scrooges also made
off with four red plastic containers
filled with Christmas decorations,
and a large box of paper plates and
utensils.
*Cody Lee Weaver, 26, had
a federal warrant from Medford
Police Department for failure to
appear on charges of unauthorized
use of a vehicle. He was cited to
appear in Jackson County Courts
Nov. 21 in lieu of being detained.
*A 26-foot U-Haul trailer was
blocking both lanes of travel when
it became entrenched in a ditch in
the 5400 block of Takilma Road at
1:27 p.m. (Hmmm, lots of U-Haul
trailers around these days.)
*Law enforcement caught up
with a fugitive in the 3200 block
of Waldo Road at 2:05 p.m. Daisy
Martin, AKA Delacey Dawn, AKA
Delacey Wells, AKA Delacey
Wales, AKA Delacy Lauren John,
35, was detained in Josephine
County Jail on an Oregon State
Parole Board Felony warrant. The
multi-faceted gal was charged
with parole violation, fraud, and
providing false information to a
peace officer.
*A chap was walking his dog
without a leash near 143 Redwood
Hwy. at 2:35 p.m. Twice, the
dingo/pit-mix puppy was nearly hit
by cars, because he couldn’t catch
her. Bystanders did not approve
of the way he was treating the
pup, and took the canine away
from him. The dog was eventually
returned to the owner, but he was
advised that video footage would
be reviewed to determine his level
of disciplining the dog. The puppy
did not appear to have any injuries
or signs of pain, and seemed to
be happy when reunited with its
owner.
*Between 5:15 p.m. Oct. 20
and 8:15 a.m. Oct. 23, vandalism
occurred at 103 S. Kerby Avenue.
There were burn marks on the
building from a fire made in a can,
graffiti on the walls and debris left
all around the area.
Tuesday, Oct. 24
*At 11:35 a.m. a happy
camper was staked out in a tent
near a soccer field, just 100
feet from a school at 520 W.
River Street. A deputy warned
an individual about smoking
marijuana in public and on school
grounds. (Because everybody
knows that smoking ain’t allowed
in school.)
*An Illinois Valley High
School football coach returned
from a game and found that his
white 2000 Chevy pickup truck
had been broken into at 625 E.
River Street, between 4 p.m.
Oct. 20 and 3 a.m. Oct. 21. The
driver’s side window was broken,
and several items were taken,
including prescription glasses,
Wiley X sunglasses, an igloo ice
chest, and last but not least, his
coffee cup.
Wednesday, Oct. 25
*A young gal has been
hanging out behind the U.S. Post
Office near dumpsters at 18398
Redwood Hwy. She was not
considered a danger to herself or
others, and appeared to be warm as
she drank hot cocoa. She is known
to be a transient in town working
as a trimmer, per prior contacts.
*On Oct. 24 between 1:30-
2:30 p.m., there was a hit-and-run
accident in the 18300 block of
Redwood Hwy. The driver of a
Dodge Ram pickup truck backed

marijuana on his property in the
18000 block of Redwood Hwy.
They lost their medical license to
grow, but continue to manage their
crops. When the landlord told his
tenant that he did not want him to
grow illegally, he quit paying his
rent. An attorney is working on
the eviction, and notes were sent
to Rogue Area Drug Enforcement

the house has other plans in store
for him. (Eye of newt, perhaps?)
