Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, Oct. 9 *James Charles Warner was running and hopping fences in the 28300 block of Redwood Hwy., but a deputy from Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) caught up with him at 1:53 p.m. Warner, 26, had a felony warrant from Josephine County for failure to appear for possession of heroin, fourth-degree assault, strangulation, and second- degree criminal mischief. Warner was detained in Josephine County Jail for the warrant, felony possession of meth, and third-degree escape. *A fugitive was taken into custody at Speedy Mart at 2:34 p.m. Michael Massey, 37, was detained in Josephine County Jail on a parole violation detainer. *Davin O. Fischer, 39, was next on the list with felony warrants. Fischer was arrested in the 4400 block of Dick George Road at 3:55 p.m., and transported to Josephine County Jail. Fischer was charged with probation violation, felony attempt to elude, hindering prosecution, reckless driving, and interfering with police. *A fellow with a misdemeanor warrant was arrested at 5:03 p.m. in Jubilee Park. Jeremy Austin Estep, 30, was charged with interfering with peace officer, and resisting arrest. He was also charged with failure to appear for second-degree criminal mischief, and failure to perform duties of a driver. Estep was cited and released to appear on Oct. 25. Tuesday, Oct. 10 *Leonard Rondall Ballard, 22, was arrested at High Pines Trailer Park at 11:37 a.m. on a felony warrant from Grants Pass Department of Public Safety. He was charged with third-degree theft, possession of meth, and probation violation for possession of heroin. *At noon a deputy from JCSO followed a black Honda from S. Kerby Avenue to Jubilee Park. Merle Southard, Jr. bailed out of the Honda, and was detained at gunpoint. Southard was charged with felony elude, misdemeanor elude, reckless driving, third- degree escape, interfering with a peace officer, and misdemeanor possession of meth. He was also cited for no operator’s license and no insurance, and the Honda was towed. Southard was detained in Josephine County Jail. *Photos were taken of a woman setting fires in an open area near high grass and bushes behind the Oregon Caves Chevron. She was contacted near the water treatment plant in the 400 block of N. Sawyer Avenue at 1:47 p.m. Her probation officer advised that she is on bench probation. Chief Hoke from Illinois Valley Fire District was fired up, and he issued her a citation for violation of illegal burning. The pyro was released, and notes were forward to the District Attorney’s office. *A pregnant lass was washing dishes in the 100 block of N. Caves Avenue at 5:27 p.m. Her mother threw a casserole dish at her. (You missed a spot.) *At 6:05 p.m. a big, blond, long-haired, lab-mix dog was running amok and snarling at customers at a store at 205 W. Watkins Street. (Service animals allowed, not animals allowed service.) Wednesday, Oct. 11 *A gal waited eight months and paid more than $1,300 for her 1956 Ford Series 600 tractor to be restored. When she spoke with the owner of the company in the 33000 block of Redwood Hwy., he told her she could not get her tractor. At 12:10 p.m. a deputy interceded so that she could recover her vehicle. *At 2:08 p.m. a feisty fellow in his 30s, sporting a black vest with no undershirt, was swinging a survival knife I.V. The front window pane was broken between 12:30- 3:40 p.m. *JCSO assisted Oregon State Police (OSP) with a guy who pulled a gun from his Levis and was pointing it at cars in the 23500 block of Redwood Hwy. at 4:01 p.m. The uncooperative wacko was detained for disorderly conduct. He had no clear agenda, but he was video recording the incident, and trying to start an altercation. He ranted about racism, discrimination, and stealing animals from their native land. Photos were taken of him and his California license plate. *At 1:44 p.m. a fellow wearing a plaid shirt and a black hat on backwards, was walking down Fir Drive and N. Old Stage Road. He was carrying a large handgun, and checked to see if it was loaded. He was not upset or pointing it at anyone. Thursday, Oct. 12 Saturday, Oct. 14 *Loiterers have been camping in the 200 block of W. Palmer Street during closed hours between September 3-Oct. 12. Campfires have been started, and trash and stolen goods have been left behind. The exterior steel door was damaged, and light fixtures have been smashed and painted over to block light. New graffiti litters the walls on a weekly basis. Floyd Argus Greenlee III, 29, was cited to appear on Dec. 7 in lieu of arrest on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear for possession of meth. Greenlee has been trespassed from the location. Friday, Oct. 13 *A chap with a very big dog was screaming at staff at Great Cats World Park. *A camp stove and other small items were taken from a vehicle at Oregon Caves National Monument. A parking lot kiosk was also broken into. Sunday, Oct. 15 *A weirdo was chopping on a building and trees with a hatchet near Hanby Lane and Cottage Park Drive. The fellow, 22, 6-foot, 160 pounds, long hair, and was last seen wearing a black and white baseball hat and a gray jacket. *Two people in a gray Toyota pickup truck had no business being parked in a driveway in the 700 block of N.
