Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, August 14 *A fellow in the 28800 block of Redwood Hwy. was feeling harassed because he came to work on a marijuana grow, but the land owner told him to get off the property, and even unplugged his electricity. The tenant has a current rental agreement and has not been served any eviction papers, but he was afraid that his plants would be destroyed. The rental issue is a civil matter, so the caller was transferred to Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) tip line. *A foot chase at high noon resulted in the arrest of a fugitive near Ollis Road and South Sawyer Avenue. Kyle Robert Joseph Young, 28, was detained in Josephine County Jail on a Grants Pass Department of Public Safety warrant for parole violation, felon in possession of a firearm. *Two backpacks full of belongings were found at 1:45 p.m. near the corner of Schumacher Street and S. Kerby Avenue. (Just don’t expect to get your little black backpacks back.) *A rusty 22-caliber gun was found in the 200 block of Dogwood Lane at 2:05 p.m. *Even though a gal has been trespassed from an establishment at 205 W. Watkins Street, she has been caught on the property three times, and was seen leaving the store Aug. 13 at 12:30 p.m. She was caught stealing Dec. 21, 2016, so she is not a favorite customer. Tuesday, August 15 *Multiple stolen weapons and cars were located in the 3700 block of Dick George Road after an alert citizen notified Josephine County Sheriff ’s Office (JCSO) at 9:32 a.m. that he found his stolen vehicle. When deputies arrived at the property, several people scattered (like rats from a sinking ship.) A Ford F-350, a Toyota, a Chevy Equinox, and a Ducati motorcycle were recovered. *At 8 a.m. on Aug. 14, a handful of rocks were thrown onto a vehicle, WHERE’S THE ALARM? The volunteers and staff of the Illinois Valley Fire District Responded to these recent Emergency calls Monday 08/14/2017 200 blk W WATKINS ST, Medical Emergency 200 blk OLLIS RD, Medical Emergency 1500 blk LONE MOUNTAIN RD, Medical Emergency 500 blk W WATKINS ST, Medical Emergency chipping the windows and paint. The word “trespasser” was written in dirt on the car, which was parked near Valley Heights Road and Illinois River Road. Wednesday, August 16 *JCSO scored a two- for-one at Jubilee Park. Michael Adam Massey, 37, was in custody for probation violation for possession of meth. Melissa Jayne Lowenstein, 50, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief. Both were detained in Josephine County Jail. *An eagle-eye neighbor noticed a shady character on the roof of the Kerby Campus of Rogue Community College on August 8 between 9-10 p.m. After the resident yelled that he was phoning 911, the roof-climber left with two other hooligans in a dark-colored Jeep Wrangler. Surveillance video footage was obtained and released to JCSO. *JCSO arrested another criminal at 1:32 p.m., this time near Fir Drive and Dogwood Lane. Daniel Virgil Guess, 38, was detained in Josephine County Jail for a parole violation detainer, escape, and interfering. He also faced charges of felony elude, reckless driving, and reckless endangering of another. *An individual with an Oregon State Parole Board felony warrant was arrested at 3:25 p.m. following a traffic stop at the end of Lurline Lane. Jamie Joanne Newberry, 32, was charged with parole violation for burglary, and detained in Josephine County Jail. *Law enforcement received notification at 12:55 a.m. that a person was deceased in the 600 block of Frederick Court. with initiating a false report. (Moral of the story: Don’t cry cougar.) *Two small dogs were inside their pen in the 20200 block of Redwood Hwy. at 11:54 a.m. A large, vicious- looking, tan and white dog was terrorizing the smaller canines by barking and climbing on top of their pen. Josephine County Department of Animal Control was notified of the incident. *A licensed practical nurse working for TRH Home Care notified law enforcement of a deceased individual in the 200 block of Shadywood Drive at 12:37 p.m. Friday, August 18 Saturday, August 19 *A fellow in the 1200 block of Green Valley Drive phoned JCSO at 9:08 a.m. and claimed that a 62-year- old woman showed up at his house at 10:30 the night before. He complained that she was sitting on his couch and wouldn’t leave. He admitted that he allowed her to stay, but then the next day he wanted her to be trespassed from the property. He was advised that if he let her back to stay, then phones police when she won’t leave, he may be charged *JCSO received a report of a guy brandishing a concealed weapon at 2:07 p.m. at MP 1 of FS Road 820. The chap told a deputy that he did not really have a firearm, but he told a miner that he did because he was scared. He was warned regarding his dagger. (Threatening a miner doesn’t pan out well.)
