*At 9:52 a.m. a gal reported
that a motorcycle mysteriously
appeared on her property in the
23000 block of Redwood Hwy.
Law enforcement checked the serial
number, but it did not appear to be
stolen.
*Joseph Francis Roselle, 23,
was taken into custody at 11:54 a.m.
in the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive
on a misdemeanor warrant for parole
violation detainer. Roselle was
detained at Josephine County Jail for
failure to appear for driving with a
suspended/revoked license.
*Residents in the 8800 block
of Deer Creek Road are rightfully
concerned about fire danger because
an obviously uninformed guy is
target shooting in that neighborhood.
*A not-so-sharp shooter fired
a round which ricocheted off a tree
and went through a window in a
church on S. Junction Avenue at 1:38
p.m. The bullet was recovered.
*A 78-year-old man was
confirmed deceased at 2:12 p.m. in
the 5100 block of Caves Hwy.
Tuesday, August 8
*A Galaxy Note 4 cell phone
was stolen from a shopper in the
200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at
6:30 a.m. on August 7. The store
has video surveillance footage of
the suspect. (Maybe his next cell
will be in jail.) A report was filed for
second-degree theft.
*Between 7:40 a.m. and 8 p.m.
on Aug. 7, low-lives burglarized
a home in the 9400 block of
Thompson Creek Road. Missing
items include Husqvarna and Stihl
chainsaws, tools, jewelry, a tennis
bag with rackets, and even thyroid
medicine. (A health-conscious thief,
no less.)
*At 10 p.m. on Aug. 7, a fellow
in the 5700 block of Holland Loop
discovered folks stealing hay from
his barn, and that was the last straw.
They claimed that his sister-in-law
hired them to remove the hay, but
they unloaded the red Chevy pickup
truck. Investigation revealed civil
issues stemming from a divorce.
*A group of people were
warned for trespassing at St.
Matthias’ Episcopal Church in the
25000 block of Redwood Hwy. at
10:40 a.m. They are only welcome
during soup kitchen hours on
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11
a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
*A mom was upset at 2:01
p.m. because her ex-husband took
her kids’ phones when they went for
visitation in the 100 block of Caves
Hwy. He explained that they were
taken for discipline, and agreed to
return their LG K8 appendages.
*There was a domestic
violence incident at 3:20 p.m. at
24542 Redwood Hwy. A gal was on
top of a guy, hitting him with a stick,
according to witnesses. The shirtless
guy had what appeared to be rug
burns all over his back when he rode
away on a bike.

*A gal didn’t appreciate the
chipper chap who was yelling
“Good morning” at 9:48 a.m. in
her driveway in the 600 block of
Althouse Creek Road. She has video
of the shirtless serenader. She filed a
stalking order, but it had not yet been
served.
*At 10:47 a.m. a now not-so-
friendly fellow in the 700 block of
Althouse Creek Road was screaming
and yelling that he was going to kill
his neighbor in the middle of the
night.
*Between 11 p.m. on Aug. 8
and 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 9, a silver-
colored Ford F-350 crew-cab pickup
truck was stolen from the parking lot
of Holiday Motel. The construction
company truck had a silver-
colored headache rack with “OSU”
engraved. The truck also had a 110-
gallon L-shaped fuel tank, a ProTech
tool box, and two tailgate tool boxes.
The vehicle was equipped with tools
and equipment worth thousands
of dollars, as well as a cell phone
booster and custom seat covers. A
Husqvarna chainsaw and a 40-
caliber Sig Sauer were also missing.
A report was filed for unauthorized
use of a vehicle, first-degree theft,
and first-degree theft of a firearm.
*Version #1: A driver in a
maroon Toyota pickup truck was
trespassing in the 400 block of S.
Redwood Hwy. at 11:11 a.m. When
a fellow reached into the truck to
grab the motorist, the Toyota ran
over his foot, so he threw a rock at
the vehicle. Another caller provided
a slightly different tale about a rock
that broke his back window, but did
not include the part about running
over anyone’s foot. A deputy warned
the first guy about his actions, and
advised that he phone Josephine
County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO)
regarding trespassing issues. If the
Toyota’s driver is located, he will
also be reprimanded for trespass and
his behavior.
*JCSO assisted with traffic
control and alert notifications near
a large fire in the 30000 block of
Redwood Hwy. at 1:25 p.m.
*A gal’s ex-boyfriend was
at her place in the 300 block of S.
Kerby Avenue at 1:48 p.m. She
didn’t tell him to leave, but he was
just not supposed to be there. He was
breaking things in the house, so she
went to Grants Pass for the day, and
said she would phone 911 if he was
still there when she returned.
*Squatters in the 200 block of
Terrell Way had a generator which
exploded and caused a small fire at
2:56 p.m.
*A deputy served a restraining
order on the troublemaker in the 700
block of Althouse Creek Road at
3:30 p.m.
Thursday, August 10
*A security guard complained
of two skateboarders who were
trespassing at Junction Inn at 10:22
a.m. A tough dude touched a knife
that was strapped to his hip when
he threatened to kick the guard’s,
ahem, derriere. The guy with a
goatee headed towards Jubilee Park
with a blue-haired gal when security
phoned 911.
*Hull and Hull Funeral
Directors responded for a deceased
79-year-old woman in the 100 block
of Patton Bar Road at 1:10 p.m.
Friday, August 11
*A wife texted that she
wrecked a Polaris on Lone Mountain
Road following an argument
with her husband at 4:30 p.m. He
eventually found the Polaris, but she
was nowhere to be found, so he went
back to their RV in O’Brien. Only to
find out that the RV was locked, and
she had the keys. He knew his wife
could take care of herself because
she is a retired lieutenant colonel.
Sure enough, she was located safe
and sound at 9:18 a.m.
*At 9:15 a.m. a guy wearing
black Carhartt trousers and a gray
hat with an Oregon logo was
trespassing in the 600 block of Caves
Hwy. He showed up in a red Chevy
Silverado, using a screwdriver as
a key. (Always a good sign.) His
partner-in-crime ran off, and he
was escorted off the property by an
armed individual.
*The folks in the 9300 block
of Takilma Road were feeling left
out of the I.V. News blotter, so they
complained for the trazillionth
time regarding their noisy neighbor
and his loud electric bass guitar,
drumming, and barking dog named
Wookie.
*A real estate agent was
showing property in the 600 block of
E. McMullen Creek Road when she
found an abandoned tan 1980 Ford
F-350 Coachman motorhome with
Washington plates.
