Now, please take a seat and get ready for a good laugh with this week’s Police Blotter Archive Zone. The Date: August 14, 2002. Location: Cave Junction and the Illinois Valley. Saturday, Aug. 8 *A former employee claimed that while arguing with a business owner in PATROL ... Illinois Valley, the owner pushed him. *Near Selma, although State Police initially wanted some back-up because of a pickup truck with emergency lights on its dashboard, it apparently was determined to be some sort of official vehicle. Monday, Aug. 5 *In O’Brien a tenant was upset, especially because of fire, after the landlord turned off the water. *There was a report from a man in O’Brien that he believed that one of the shirts he reported as stolen was being worn the night. They were advised to contact their landlord, and the rowdy fellow was warned regarding Josephine County’s noise ordinance at 9:44 a.m. *A former resident in the 1700 block of Lone Mountain Road had been evicted, but continued to return to the property. A deputy suggested that the property owners change the locks to the gate and barn. *Umpqua Bank at 110 N. Redwood Hwy. became a sanctuary again at 10:18 a.m. when a guy ran there to hide from someone who was chasing him. It was his brother, and he was in big trouble for stealing his mother’s bike. *A damsel in the 200 block of Thompson Creek Road phoned 911 for information regarding obtaining a restraining order at 11:28 a.m. Her ex-boyfriend was destroying her property in front of three children. *A woman reported that when she was at a poker machine at a local bar July 17 at 5 p.m., her purse was stolen by a middle-aged, short, overweight gal with dirty, shoulder- length blond hair. The thief took the handbag into the bathroom and removed debit and credit cards, a driver’s license and $60. Security Continued from A-7 *Parents claimed that their son brought a vehicle to their property in the 700 block of Lakeshore Drive in September 2016. They don’t know who it belongs to, but they want it removed as an abandoned vehicle. Their property; their responsibility. *At 12:45 p.m. a gal sought refuge at Umpqua Bank at 110 N. Redwood Hwy. She said she was hiding from a dark-haired, bearded man who was trying to beat her. Sarah Ivory Jaentsch, 26, was detained at Josephine County Jail on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on two counts of trespassing. *A concerned citizen claimed that a preacher at a community church sold a hand gun to an unhinged individual in the 400 block of Beebe Drive. Tuesday, July 18 *Neighbors in the 700 block of Caves Hwy. were unhappy with a kooky tenant who was harassing them, and slamming a chair into a door on a shared porch throughout by a man he saw in O’Brien. *In Selma someone reported that a man with a dog was pounding on a storage tank. Tuesday, Aug. 6 *Deputies who cover rural Grants Pass were advised at 12:23 a.m. that a boy, 11, had left Cascade Boys Ranch on Jump Off Joe Creek Road. He returned a short time later with the notation, “It was very cold out tonight. *Disorderly conduct involving a man urinating on a yard on Illinois River Road was noted. *In O’Brien a man was becoming hysterical about footage recorded the incident, and a report was filed for third-degree theft. *Fourth of July fireworks were gnawing on the nerves of residents in the 100 block of Beaver Meadow Road. They were concerned for fire danger after three huge mortars emitted live sparks down onto the neighborhood. *A fugitive from Clackamas County was taken into custody in the 100 block of Warren Road at 4:38 p.m. Patrick Lubin, 32, had a felony warrant for failure to appear for distribution of a controlled substance – marijuana. He was cited and released. *At 3:07 p.m. a loud disturbance was reported from the 300 block of S. Kerby Avenue. Minutes later a dude was bleeding from a cut near his elbow after he jumped a fence at Junction Inn. James Warner, 25, was warned for trespassing and detained in Josephine County Jail for possession of meth. *A vehicle for sale on Craigslist and Medford Facebook postings resembled a vehicle that had been stolen from the 24300 block of Redwood Hwy. The going to a hospital, as some thought he had suffered a heart attack, but they subsequently said it likely was hysteria and not heart attack. *A transient was reported to be saying that he was going to kill people, and tried to start a fight with a firefighter at Lake Selmac. He wasn’t located. *In Selma a tenant asked to leave thought that the landlord turned off his water, but I later seemed that the well went dry. *Marijuana plants were located in the vicinity of Eight Dollar Road/Josephine Creek Road. registered owner wasn’t 100 percent certain that it was hers, but she wanted to meet with the seller to find out. She was referred to Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety, since she lives within city limits. *Two people were parked in front of an abandoned home in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive at 5:33 p.m. Their car broke down, but friends were on their way to help. A deputy removed their 2017 stickers because their registration was only valid through 2016. Wednesday, July 19 *A tool box and bicycle were reported as stolen from Chateau at Oregon Caves at 9:28 a.m. *Surveillance video will be reviewed for clues to a break-in at 213 S. Redwood Hwy. Two windows and the door to a cake case were broken. A report was filed for burglary, criminal mischief, and third-degree theft, and a possible suspect was named. *Law enforcement apprehended a man in the 200 block of Dogwood Lane at 1:36 p.m. Anthony Kirkman, 35, was cited and released to appear at Josephine County Circuit Court, and a report was filed for failure to register as a sex offender. *Justin Taylor, 28, hit his father in the face at 2:07 p.m. in the 100 block of Ken Rose Lane. He then left wearing camo shorts, no shirt, and carrying a 40-quart ice chest. A deputy took Taylor into custody, and returned the cooler and food to his father. Information was provided regarding obtaining a restraining order. *At 2:35 p.m. a property owner in the 38500 block of Redwood Hwy. complained of unwanted visitors in a stolen white Range Rover with a black top. One trespasser left when confronted by law enforcement, the other was gone before they arrived. The Rover was confirmed stolen by Portland Police Department, so it was recovered. A utility trailer was sold in 2014 to folks in Redmond. *Wiring was stripped from a garage in the 2500 block of Chapman Creek Road within the past month. The entire garage was packed full of at least 150 stacked old tires, which had been dumped there by a tireless individual.
