Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, June 19 *A woman driver was warned for unsafe vehicle on the roadway at MP 20 on Hwy. 199 at 12:05 p.m. A deputy had contacted this same gal earlier, and would investigate her further. *A visitor from California was warned for speeding on Redwood Hwy. near Hanby Lane at 12:33 p.m. *At 12:44 p.m. a motorist behind the Oregon Caves Chevron was cautioned regarding an obscured license plate. *A woman claimed that a guy jumped into her car at 1:13 p.m. as she was leaving Speedy Mart, and he threw a Gatorade bottle at her, striking her in the arm. The determined dude refused to leave, until he got out of the car somewhere on Westside Road. A deputy talked with the suspect and his father for the other side of the story. Their version was she had traveled to Cave Junction to rekindle the relationship, but the flame fizzled when she became angry with him. The restraining order against him was dismissed when she returned to CJ. *At 2:15 p.m. a driver escaped injuries when his vehicle went over the bank and snagged on a tree at MP17 on Caves Hwy. *A deputy was out with an individual at the CJ Substation at 2:17 p.m. *Law enforcement checked on a house in the 200 block of W. Palmer Street at 4 p.m. There did not appear to be any recent activity, and the home was secured from inside. *A bicyclist was cautioned for failure to obey a traffic control device (FTOTCD) at 4:12 p.m. near the intersection of Lister Street and Kerby Avenue. *A loon was running into traffic near Shop Smart at 4:17 p.m. He was warned for jaywalking. *Justin Taylor, 28, was detained in Josephine County Jail on a probation violation retainer. Taylor was arrested at 4:40 p.m. near N. Redwood Hwy. and E. River Street. Tuesday, June 20 *An individual in the 9400 block of Takilma Road was not fooled when he was notified that he won $2.5 million. He has been receiving spam calls, but does not have internet access, so he was unable to sign up on the Do Not Call Registry. He was provided with an incident number and a hotline contact. *Law enforcement sought witnesses in the 4900 block of Holland Loop at 9:51 a.m. *When residents returned to 3750 Lakeshore Drive at 5:30 p.m., they noticed paper from corrugated roofing was flying across the field behind Deer Creek Grange. Upon inspection, it appeared that wire bands had been cut from the roofing material. They suspect that the alleged thief was not aware of the length of the material, and would likely be returning with a trailer overnight. Caretakers of the property will keep their eyes peeled, and requested that a report be filed for trespass and attempted theft. *Litterbugs dumped everything from household trash to a partially WHERE’S THE ALARM? There was furniture, mattresses, a couch, toilet, and shower stall, as well as kids’ toys and clothing. A pile of mail, including unopened bank statements with an address in the 28800 block of Redwood Hwy., was amidst the mess. Bureau of Land Management was notified. *Folks were removing items from the 200 block of O’Brien Road at 11:59 a.m. *A tall, thin blonde wearing a checkered shirt seemed to be impaired while driving a red Pontiac near 33096 Redwood Hwy. at 12:06 p.m. *Law enforcement investigated Unit A in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy. at 12:14 p.m. *Two characters in a black Nissan were warned for an obscured temporary registration tag at 1:40 p.m. near E. River Street and Shadowbrook Drive. *Oregon State Police (OSP) passed on a tip to Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) that there was a white Ford Explorer with no license plates and a punched ignition near Rough and Ready and MP 30 on Hwy. 199 at 2:07 p.m. Both areas were checked, along with Rough and Ready Botanical Gardens, but the Explorer was never located. *A motorist in a red Taurus was warned for failure to signal a turn near S. Redwood Hwy. and Caves Hwy. at 2:22 p.m. *JCSO provided community oriented policing (COP) service at 76 service station at 2:37 p.m., and the 100 block of N. Redwood Hwy. at 2:45 p.m. *A house in the 200 block of Palmer Street was still secure at 3:31 p.m. *The driver of a red Dodge was stopped by law enforcement in the 100 block of S. Kerby Avenue at 3:53 p.m. He was given a citation for violation of driving with a suspended license (DWS/V), and warned for failure to carry proof of insurance. *License plates were seized in the 200 block of Millie Street at 4:07 p.m., and law enforcement will investigate two individuals. *A welfare check was requested for a guy in the 200 block of Kerby Street, because a concerned citizen had been unable to reach him. The man has a history of falling, and he does not drive. He had not been admitted to any rehab centers and was not transferred to Medford, but he was not inside his home at 4:34 p.m. *At 4:24 p.m. a deputy had a little talk with an individual in a black Chevy Suburban near Hwy. 199 and Hanby Lane. He was questioned regarding his involvement in unauthorized entry into motor vehicles in the Hanby area of CJ. *At 4:38 p.m. a character at 25658 Redwood Hwy. was advised of his driving status, and reminded to check in with his probation officer. *The operator of a Chevy Colt was warned for no front license plate and improper display at 5:09 p.m. at MP 1 on Caves Hwy. *A motorist in a red Ford F150 pickup truck was reprimanded for no front license plate and no seatbelt at 5:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Caves Hwy. *A motorist was warned for speeding in a Subaru Outback at 5:40 p.m. in the 24800 block of Redwood Hwy. Wednesday, June 21 *JCSO received an email at 9:37 a.m. regarding a suspicious-looking vehicle with no license plates near the 27700 block of Redwood Hwy. and Rusk Road, next to Phillips Auto Wrecking yard. The ignition was not punched, and it was not blocking access or a road hazard. *There was a disturbance in the 8600 block of Takilma Road at 10:07 a.m. *A tacky gal was observed drinking beer and urinating in Jubilee Park at 11:54 a.m. She was warned for her behavior, and trespassed from the park for the rest of the day. She finally left after several requests. *A kayaker on the Illinois River found a large amount of trash at a campsite at Echo Beach on June 20. The careless litterbugs left behind identifying information for residents in the 1600 block of Crater Lake Avenue. *At 12:44 p.m. a motorist in a blue Chevelle was cited for DWS/ V, and warned for failure to carry insurance and defective lighting equipment near E. River Street and Hwy. 199. *Quibblers continue to argue over the easement they share in the 400 block of Queen of Bronze Road. One was allegedly waving a handgun and refusing to let the other leave the driveway at 1:04 p.m. The neighbor denied having a weapon, but he admitted that he stopped his vehicle so his foe couldn’t drive through with his tractor. *A deputy served a restraining order at 2:30 p.m. in the 300 block of O’Brien Road.
