destructive fools cut the padlock off a
gate and pried open a door to a pellet
boiler in the 500 block of W. River

fire extinguishers. Next, they ripped
the hatch off a pellet tank. A report was
filed for burglary, theft and criminal
mischief.
*A woman in the 300 block of S.
Kerby Avenue was told that her stolen
vehicle was seen at the 76 service
station in CJ at 2:30 p.m. on June 11.
The feisty gal asked the dispatcher if
she had permission to shoot the thief
for stealing her car, and admitted she
had laid in wait for several hours with
a loaded gun to shoot the culprit. She
was advised that it was not legal to
use deadly force to protect property,
but the woman was fed-up, and didn’t
care if she went to jail. A report was
filed for unauthorized use of a vehicle
(UUV), and photos of the suspect
and missing vehicle will be provided
to Josephine County Sheriff’s Office
(JCSO).
*Half a tank of gas was
syphoned from a vehicle in the 200

WHERE’S
THE ALARM?
The volunteers and staff of the
Illinois Valley Fire District

matter is now in the paws of Josephine
County Animal Control.
*At 10:58 a.m., a determined
dame claimed that her stolen car was
on Lakeshore Drive, and she insisted
on going there herself instead of
waiting for law enforcement. Her
children were with her when she met
with a deputy, who told her to go
home and let law enforcement handle
the issue.
*A deputy checked Warren
Road and Hogue Drive at 11:52
a.m., because stolen vehicles are

and released on charges of failure to
appear for distribution of marijuana.
*Law enforcement discontinued
pursuit of a gold-colored GMC
Suburban that was traveling 70 mph
on Redwood Hwy. and Laurel Road at
1:16 p.m. The unoccupied GMC with
a broken grill and dented door was
found in the 300 block of S. Kerby
