Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, May 21 *The residents in the 9300 block of Takilma Road have expanded their horizons. Their previous complaints regarding their neighbor’s loud power equipment, annoying drumming, and amped bass have not been resolved. Now they have upped the ante to moan about a cat digging and rolling in their vegetable garden. (First world problems.) *The white whine continued from the folks in the 9300 block of Takilma Road at 10:25 a.m. They are at their wits’ end because they get no peace anymore, and they want Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) to issue a citation or two or 10. Their aggravation was tagged as beyond available resources (BAR) by JCSO. *A scalawag cut a fence at Illinois Valley Building Supply, and stashed retail products near the opening. A conscientious neighbor phoned 911 and alerted I.V. Building Supply that a roll of their fencing was in his yard on Madrona Drive at 11:18 a.m. *A deputy searched for an individual in the 100 block of Warren Road at 12:18 p.m., but the property is now gated with signs stating no trespass. *Lurline Lane and Laurel Road were patrolled at 1:28 p.m. *Law enforcement will conduct further investigation on three characters in the 300 block of Caves Hwy. at 1:43 p.m. *A deputy had some doubts about the integrity of two people in a blue Ford in the 3200 block of Waldo Road at 2:39 p.m. *It appeared as if a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) gate had been cut in the 4800 block of Suncrest Drive at 2:59 p.m. It was actually a private driveway that belongs to property owners from Texas. *The driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck was pulled over at 3:08 p.m. in the 32000 block of Hwy. 199 because his temporary registration tag was not clearly visible. *An unnamed culprit was in police custody at 3:24 p.m. in the 600 block of Naue Way. *There was a family feud involving a 4-year-old girl at 3:56 p.m. in the 200 block of S. Old Stage Road. A deputy advised of options regarding child custody. Daniel Alejandro Hill Esparza, 22, was detained at Josephine County Jail following his arrest at 5:07 p.m. Esparza had a statewide felony warrant for failure to appear for elude and reckless driving. *A fellow was retrieving his tools and other items at 4:16 p.m. in the 300 block of Pine Tree Way, but law enforcement could not interfere because it was a civil issue involving a married couple. Outside the Valley *Eleven situations. Monday, May 22 *Hull and Hull Funeral Directors responded to the report of a deceased person in the 400 block of Mesa Verde Drive at 9:22 a.m. *At 9:27 a.m. the gal from the 9300 block of Takilma Road spoke WHERE’S THE ALARM? She claimed that she understood the limitations of JCSO, that they were not able to respond due to limited resources, and the case was closed. *Minutes later at 9:45 a.m., a guy phoned from the 9300 block of Takilma Road, and was given the same explanation that JCSO would not be sending a deputy to cite his neighbor for weed whacking. He said that he understood, but he would keep reporting the incidents because he feels like it is blatant harassment. (Misuse of 911 perhaps?) *Coincidentally, a tip came in at 10 a.m. that a 1965 Clenet Coach Works Roadster school bus with no license plates had been abandoned at the corner of Takilma Road and Meadows Road. A deputy stated that the yellow bus appeared to be on private property, and someone may have been living in it, but the bus was locked from the outside. *A deputy was unable to locate a character in the 100 block of Warren Road at 11:20 a.m. *At 11:27 a.m. a citizen notified JCSO that it looked like squatters were setting up occupancy on property at the northeast corner of Dogwood Lane and Caves Hwy. Several vehicles and a flatbed truck were parked near the boarded-up home with a downed tree on top. JCSO will follow up with the property owner. *Switched license plates were seized from a vehicle in the Shop Smart Food Warehouse parking lot at 12:05 p.m., and the owner was cited into Cave Junction Municipal Court. *There was a shoot-out at 12:19 p.m. at the Western Plaza when an oblivious red-head wearing a purple tank top and jean shorts was seen shooting up into her leg next to a smoke shop facing Hwy. 199. After she provided consent for law enforcement to search her backpack, Lori Taylor, 52, was detained at Josephine County Jail for possession of meth. *A motorist in a white Chevy was warned for failure to obey a traffic control device (FTOTCD) in the 500 block of W. River Street at 1:53 p.m. *A deputy patrolled the 100 block of Hussey Avenue at 2:02 p.m. *The operator of a blue Ford Escape in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street at 2:15 p.m. escaped with a warning for improper display. *A stolen vehicle was located near the back of a cemetery in the 3200 block of Waldo Road at 2:21 p.m. Jerry’s Tow Co. was notified because the jalopy had two flat tires and no battery. *At 2:29 p.m. a driver was warned for speeding on Redwood Hwy. near Reeves Creek Road. *A motorist was warned for driving with a suspended license violation (DWS-V) and no seat belt at 2:44 p.m. in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street. *There was another DWS-V citation doled out at 2:51 p.m. near Hogue Drive and Warren Road. A warning was also dispensed for expired registration. *A citation was given to a driver caught using a cell phone at 3:11 p.m. near Hwy. 199 and Caves Hwy. A warning was given for improper display. *The operator of a teal Dodge pickup truck was warned for excessive emissions at 3:18 p.m. in the 5500 block of Takilma Road. *Law enforcement checked the area near Hwy. 199 and Rough and Ready Creek at 4:10 p.m. Outside the Valley *Thirty incidents. Tuesday, May 23 *An employee of a local pasta cucina failed to show up for work on her assigned shift, so she was fired. Her boyfriend was not happy with that decision, so May 20 he confronted the owner of the restaurant, and made threats to burn the eatery. A deputy advised of options for dealing with trespassers at 3:03 p.m. *At 12:03 p.m. a gal claimed that May 22 her unfriendly neighbor assaulted her by pulling her hair and throwing her to the ground. The mean girl is one of several people who have established residence in a vacant property in the 800 block of Caves Hwy. They connected a power cord to the gal’s property, increasing her electric bill by nearly $600. She doesn’t want to pursue charges, but requested that law enforcement contact the freeloaders. She was advised of her options. *A useless dude living with his mother in the 5500 block of Westside Road admitted that he stole tools from a home in the 5400 block while the resident was in the hospital. When asked to return them, he stated that he sold them to pay for his drugs. The scoundrel’s $4,500 score consisted of a Briggs & Stratton generator, log splitter, Milwaukee planer, drills, saws, and various construction tools. (Expensive drugs.)
