Redwood Hwy., but all was fine at 5:09 p.m. Monday, April 24 *A representative of Rogue Valley Fliers arrived at the Kerby Skypark, their flying field for remote-controlled model airplanes. He was dismayed when he realized that their gray 12 foot by 20 foot steel carport-type building worth $2,000 had been stolen. There were no footprints or tire tracks, and the gate was still locked. (Theme from “Twilight Zone”) A report was filed for first-degree theft. *Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) gathered information on a dilly of a case at Dairy Queen at 213 S. Redwood Hwy. at 1:22 p.m. *At 1:43 p.m. a report was filed for third-degree theft regarding an incident at Radio Shack at 145 N. Redwood Hwy. *Miscellaneous tools, equipment, and a 12-gauge Maverick shotgun were taken from the 1000 block of Hays Cut Off Road between 10 a.m. April 1 and 1 p.m. April 4. A camper trailer also disappeared. The caller was very concerned because his mother’s ashes were among the missing items. *Jubilee Park was fine when patrolled at 2:09 p.m. *The manager of a mobile home park in the 200 block of Ollis Road was tired of people speeding Outside the Valley *Twenty calls. Tuesday, April 25 *A deputy checked on two characters in Jubilee Park at 11 a.m. *A red 1992 Nissan pickup truck with a Delta chrome box and a ladder rack was removed without permission from the 200 block of Cedar Brook Lane overnight. The truck is valued at $3,000, and was parked in the RV parking area of a gated community. A report was filed for unauthorized use of a vehicle (UUV). *Four dogs had a horse pinned against a fence in the 2100 block of Laurel Road at 11:09 a.m. Josephine County Animal Control was notified of the three German shepherds and a pit bull at that address. *Eight Dollar Mountain Botanical Wayside Boardwalk was OK when patrolled at 12:44 p.m. *A deputy patrolled behind the Bureau of Land Management gate at MP 5 on Westside Road at 1:01 p.m. *A gal backed her gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck into a traffic cone near her business at 115 N. Redwood Hwy. at 3:24 p.m. A guy said she hit his black Chevy Silverado, but she could not see any damage to either of the vehicles, so she did not believe him. There was no crime involved, and the drivers through the parking lot. When he aggressively approached one motorist to tell him to slow down at 3:14 p.m., he felt threatened by the driver, who had a holstered weapon. A tenant was warned of eviction if her chauffeur’s reckless driving continued. *The operator of a gold-colored vehicle was stopped for speeding 42 mph in a 25 zone near E. River Street and N. Caves Avenue at 3:20 p.m. The driver was cited for speeding and no driver’s license, and the passenger was ticketed for allowing unlawful operating. They are both scheduled to appear in Cave Junction Municipal Court June 21 at 6 p.m. *A deputy talked with a person at 101 S. Junction Ave. at 3:24 p.m. *JCSO checked on a group near the stage at Jubilee Park at 3:29 p.m. Everything was fine throughout the park. *A concerned citizen claimed that April 22, he spotted the hoodlum who recently tried to break into Caves Pharmacy. He recorded the California license plate number of the white van, that the suspect was allegedly trying to sell for $1,000. The fellow was described as mid- 30s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, unshaven and in need of a bath. The van has been seen parked behind Oregon Caves Chevron on Caves Hwy, and there are usually two pit bulls in the vehicle. *On April 17, a gal noticed strange activity at a home to the east of a parking lot in the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy. This seemed to be drug-related because two cars parked in a restaurant parking lot, then the occupants walked to a house. One woman acted upset and was overheard saying “he didn’t want to deal with me and wouldn’t give me anything”. She seemed much happier when she returned a second time. Phone numbers for Rogue Area Drug Enforcement (RADE) were provided to the caller. *The driver of a silver-colored Nissan with Utah plates was warned for speeding near N. Old Stage Road and E. River Street at 3:55 p.m. *A motorist in a Honda Civic was warned for speeding in a school zone and use of mobile device while driving at 4:05 p.m. near E. River Street and Lewis Court. *There was a fallen tree blocking Westside Road, two miles up from Finch Road at 5:36 p.m. Josephine County Public Works Dept. (JCPWD) was notified. *A citizen with a chain saw was working on opening Westside Road, and JCPWD was on the way at 5:48 p.m. *Two dames were feuding at Jubilee Park at 5:57 p.m., and the red-haired one may have had a knife. She was decked out in jean capris, carrying a pink backpack, and her dark-haired foe traveled with a pit bull. a silver-colored vehicle parked in the 20000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 11:19 a.m. A large, older shepherd-mix attacked one of the small pug-sized dogs inside. Jerry’s Tow Company unlocked the vehicle without breaking any windows, and an Animal Control officer retrieved the claustrophobic canines. When law enforcement checked at 7:08 p.m., the vehicle was gone. *An alert citizen reported a suspicious character carrying a Stihl chain saw in the 23500 block of Redwood Hwy. at 12:39 p.m. He had seen a Facebook post regarding a stolen chain saw, but the serial number did not match with the missing equipment. *A motorist in a blue GMC pickup truck was pulled over by law enforcement on Redwood Hwy. near Hogue Drive at 12:41 p.m. He was advised about his driving status, and warned for improper display and driving while license was suspended. He phoned a friend to retrieve his truck. *William Murphy, 29, was detained at Josephine County Jail following his arrest in the 100 block of Hathaway Drive at 12:59 p.m. A report was filed for parole violation detainer and possession of meth. *A deputy patrolled Jubilee Park on foot at 2:05 p.m. Outside the Valley *Twenty-three situations.
