All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, Feb. 12 *Protect America did its part and reported an alarm in the 100 block of N. Redwood Hwy. at 9:47 a.m. *SOS Alarm noticed numerous hits from motion detectors on buildings and sheds in the 400 block of Caves Hwy. at 10:17 a.m. A secure chain-link fence prevented a deputy from gaining access to check the buildings. *There was a confrontation in the parking lot at 205 W. Watkins Street at 11:02 a.m. when a wacko in a black mini-van pointed a rifle at a guy in a white Chevy Suburban. Apparently the loose cannon and his partner in crime still had a “beef” from two years ago with the Chevy driver, but he does not want anything done to them, due to their mental states. A bystander volunteered to keep an eye out to identify the riflemen, and possibly seize their weapons as they do not have the mental capacity to possess them. *A deputy patrolled the 3200 block of Waldo Road at 11:10 a.m. *At 11:14 a.m., the deputy obtained information at 409 S. Redwood Hwy. *Michael Massey, 36, was cited and released for mischief following a verbal disturbance at Jubilee Park at 11:16 a.m. Massey reportedly screamed at a family that he was going to rape them. He was highly hostile and antagonistic towards nearby residents because they wouldn’t let him break into their house and take items. A stalking order is the next step if the harassment continues. (Stay tuned.) *Canna Guard Security received a valid cancel password following an alarm from the 5000 block of Waldo Road at 11:27 a.m. There was a power outage, and when the electricity returned, the alarm was activated. *Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) stopped three stooges in a Nissan between Sherier Road and Fernwood Drive at 11:39 a.m. *At 12:26 p.m. the driver of a blue Dodge flatbed truck was warned for driving while suspended. He was cited to appear for unlawful cutting and transportation of special forest products. His truck was buried up to the axles in mud on a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) road near MP 5 on Westside Road, but AAA would not cover a tow from a BLM road. There was no sign saying stolen on the Dodge, but the registered owner died last week, so it is WHERE’S THE ALARM? The volunteers and staff of the Illinois Valley Fire District Responded to these recent Emergency calls Monday 2/13/17 1000 blk NAUE WAY, Electrical Fire 2300 blk REEVES CREEK RD, Flue Fire unknown who may have had permission to use the flatbed. The brother of the deceased woman was informed of the location of the truck for retrieval. *A motorist in a white pickup truck was driving erratically and speeding on the shoulder of Hwy. 199 at MP 31 at 1:06 p.m. *JCSO assisted Oregon State Police (OSP) in the 900 block of Caves Hwy. at 2:52 p.m. *There was an investigation at Tycer Crossing from 3:02 until 5:57 p.m. *A Kawasaki side-by-side passed inspection by a deputy in the 2800 block of Reeves Creek Road at 4:05 p.m. at 10:29 a.m. *A deputy checked some details at Dave’s Outdoor Power Equipment at 1:25 p.m. *A contract painter arrived in the 200 block of W. Palmer Street at 10:30 a.m. and encountered a 50-ish woman trespassing in a vacant home. He stated that there were several squatters in the home on Feb. 7 as well. JCSO has provided extra patrols for this residence, but the problem will likely continue until the house is occupied. *A statement was obtained during an investigation at 3:32 p.m. in the 17000 block of Redwood Hwy. Outside the Valley *Twenty-two incidents. Outside the Valley *Twenty-five situations. Monday, Feb. 13 *At 10:01 a.m. a fellow in the 400 block of Queen of Bronze Road claimed that a dude on Cowboy Way “sicced” his large white fluffy dog on him and his service dog. Although the big canine did not bite this time, he did in October 2016, so the chap was getting an off-road wheel chair and a gun for his safety. He said that his easement runs through the neighbor’s marijuana grow, and that the neighbor threatened to remove his sign and burn his house down. *JCSO provided Community Oriented Policing at Illinois Valley High School Tuesday, Feb. 14 *A curly-haired braniac was jumping into traffic near Chapman Creek Road on Caves Hwy. at 9:11 a.m. The 55-year-old took off his clothes, and was only wearing pants when a car nearly hit him, leaving a 50-foot skid mark. (In the road, not his pants.) *At 9:51 a.m. a man reported that his deceased sister’s home in the 2100 block of Rockydale Road had been burglarized. There was no damage to doors or windows, so it was obvious to her brother that a key had been used. The locked garage had been broken into, with a screen removed, and a window forced open. Keys to Outside the Valley *Twenty-six items. Wednesday, Feb. 15 *At 10:16 a.m. a gray- haired guy wearing a plaid jacket walked to his gray sedan, put a firearm in his pocket, and walked inside a store at 305 S. Redwood Hwy. It seemed shady, but he argued with someone, then they left. *There was a silver- colored Ford 4x4 in a ditch on Glendon Road near Redwood Hwy. at 10:49 a.m. A gal told Brookings police that she was responsible for the Ford but she had let someone else drive it. Her next version was that she didn’t know the person, they were just a friend of a friend. Another tale was that she picked up a hitchhiker and let him drive because she was tired. The more she talked, the more she continued to provide alternative facts. Due to the hesitation and tone of her responses, there were suspicions that she may have been driving and didn’t want to admit it. The Ford was towed, and law enforcement seized her driver’s license. *An entrepreneur was organizing a neighborhood yard sale in the 300 block of Caves Hwy. at 10:50 a.m. The only problem was he was selling items stolen from his landlord and other tenants. When his landlady confronted him, he yelled at her that she needed to give him 24-hour notice before entering the property. A tenant did not want to deal with him because he could be very unpredictable and had threatened her in the past. The stolen property will need to be addressed in civil court. A deputy warned the unprofessional salesman that his behavior was causing public alarm, and if it continued he would be arrested for disorderly conduct.
