All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, Nov. 13 *Two people were cited at 10:04 a.m. for camping more than 14 days near Kerby Mainline towards the dump and the small airport. *Jubilee Park was peaceful at 10:47 a.m. *A silver-colored Toyota pickup truck was found stripped and abandoned on private property in the 300 block of Lurline Lane at 10:54 a.m. (Another rough Saturday night.) *At 11:07 a.m. the driver of a black Dodge near the Siskiyou Market was warned regarding failure to carry proof of insurance, and for defective equipment, in this case a left tail light. *The motorist in a red vehicle in the 29000 block of Redwood Hwy. was cautioned due to expired registration at 11:19 a.m. *All was fine on Eight Dollar Road at 11:21 a.m. *A motorist in a white Honda was cited into CJ Municipal Court following a traffic stop at 11:52 a.m. on S. Redwood Hwy. and Caves Hwy. The driver was cited for careless driving, driving while uninsured and failure to carry registration. *Keep an eye out for the Neanderthals that broke into Little Grayback Lookout. *The driver of a black vehicle was pulled over by law enforcement on E. River Street and N. Caves Avenue at 2:01 p.m. He was warned for speeding and failure to carry proof of registration. *At 2:18 p.m., the operator of a red Toyota on N. Old Stage Road and Hanby Lane was warned for no mud flaps and failure to carry proof of insurance. *A guy in the 100 block of S. Junction Avenue had been having problems with his neighbor, so he was trying to get a restraining order. He already had a menacing complaint based on a previous incident when his neighbor chased him with a pipe. At 3:11 p.m., he reported being followed by the unfriendly fellow in a blue Chevy pickup truck with chrome wheels. The man threatened that if he was backed into a corner, he would shoot his neighbor. He claimed he would then sue Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) for not following up on his complaints. No crime was committed, the blue truck could not be located, and the angry guy was advised of his options. Monday, Nov. 14 *The manager at 112 S. Redwood Hwy. asked the deputy to warn a certain unwanted person regarding trespass at 9:02 a.m. *During the night of Nov. 13, an electric golf cart valued at $3,500 was stolen from a carport. On Nov. 14 at 11:35 a.m., an alert citizen observed the purloined cart being pushed into a yard on the NE corner of S. Kerby Avenue and Schumacher Street. The teed-off owner recovered his vehicle, which sustained $100 worth of damage to the windshield. A report will be filed for second-degree criminal mischief and unauthorized use of a vehicle. (Par for the course.) *The dispatcher could hear kids in a cafeteria or hallway during a 911 call at 1:16 p.m. from Illinois Valley High School. The personnel at the front office were unaware of any problems. *A restraining order was served in the 6300 block of Deer Creek Road at 1:42 p.m. *A white station wagon was nearly clobbered at 1:45 p.m. when the driver failed to yield as the lanes merged at MP 25 on Hwy. 199. *Some guy was hitting a fellow in a black sedan at 4:33 p.m. in front of 120 N. Redwood Hwy. The car was last seen heading southbound on Hwy. 199. *Everything was OK at Jubilee Park at 4:43 p.m. *There was a silver-colored Nissan Pathfinder with no license plates parked on private property on N. Hussey Avenue and Stevenson Street at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 *A tenant who had been given a 30-day notice to vacate was still living in the 5100 block of Caves Hwy. The landlady tried to do a walk-through of the house, but the tenacious tenant would not let her in. The unruly guy was screaming, driving aggressively and doing “donuts” in the yard. A second caller stated that two granddaughters of the property owner were trespassing and taking photos in a barn. Both parties agreed to avoid contact, and they were advised of civil options. *There was an audible alarm in the 100 block of N. Boundary Avenue at 10:56 a.m. *JCSO did some research at Illinois Valley High School at 11:28 a.m. *Four out of five businesses were in compliance with their City of Cave Junction business licenses at 406 S. Redwood Hwy. at 2:31 p.m. Blue Conex was not in compliance, but the owner will remedy the situation. *A restraining order was delivered at 2:52 p.m. in the 300 block of June Drive. *The driver of a Toyota Sequoia with California plates made threats against a family in Chemult, Washington over alleged problems regarding mushroom picking. Now these fungus finders are in Cave Junction, and they are worried that things could become violent. *A landlord’s daughter left a threatening phone call on the tenant’s answering machine, and was warned for her behavior by law enforcement. This was reported at 3:21 p.m. from the 5100 block of Caves Hwy. *At 4:06 p.m. a restraining order was served in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. *An abandoned silver-colored Dodge Charger had been parked in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. for three days. The vehicle was trashed inside, so it was moved and is no longer a problem. *JCSO checked the 100 block of Ollis Road at 4:05 p.m., and everything was fine. *An SOB stole an EBT card from some poor guy in the 300 block of Clear Creek Road on Nov. 11, and spent all the benefits. The last transaction was at Albertson’s grocery story on Allen Creek Road for $129. The card was cancelled. (And so was his Thanksgiving dinner.) *Three vehicles were stolen from the 200 block of N. Hussey Avenue on Nov. 14, and the neighbor’s surveillance camera caught the whole thing. The stolen items were as follows: a Yamaha 250 dirt bike with a broken clutch lever, valued at $800; a blue 2008 Yamaha Grizzly 350 quad with a Warner winch, valued at $4,000; and a green 1991 Kawasaki Enduro KDX, worth $1,000. A report will be filed for three charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, and second-degree burglary. The video surveillance evidence was provided to JCSO. (Smile, you’re on criminal camera.) *A deputy was at 222 W. Lister St. at 4:32 p.m. *A vehicle was pulled over at the end of Stevenson Street near the Water Treatment Plant at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 *The intended recipient of a restraining order was not available at 9:42 p.m. in the 6300 block of Deer Creek Road. *A long-haired blonde gal and a guy wearing a red hoodie and shorts were fighting and screaming in the 2000 block of Laurel Road at 10:56 a.m. Gunshots were heard, then her screaming stopped, according to the person who phoned 911, who also reported that there was a high volume of suspicious activity at that location at night. Another neighbor called to say he had observed the guy hit the gal’s white car with his vehicle, either a silver-colored Toyota or Range Rover. When law enforcement arrived, they found that both parties were arguing, but there was no evidence of a crime and the couple decided they did not need law enforcement assistance. *At 11:41 a.m., a dude was sitting and laughing in a brown Honda Civic in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. Someone found this behavior suspicious and phoned 911. The deputy found no evidence of illegal activity when he checked on the happy guy. *JCSO patrolled the Botanical Wayside Boardwalk Trail on Eight Dollar Road at 12:20 p.m. *A motorcyclist wearing a gray hoodie and a black helmet was passing on a double yellow line on a primer black sport bike on Redwood Hwy. and Hogue Drive. He was cooperative, but he denied excessive speed, so he was warned for unsafe passing. *Three people were blocking a gate with their vehicle on Thompson Creek Road and Lakeshore Drive at 1:04 p.m. When a deputy arrived, the owner produced paperwork and 2017 tags, and then they moved the car. *All was fine during an area check of the 6300 block of Deer Creek Road at 1:14 p.m. *A deputy patrolled the Rough and Ready Wayside area at 1:47 p.m. *A woman accidently dialed 911 from the 100 block of Pugetville Road at 2:02 p.m. *At 2:28 p.m. a fellow was lying in a mud puddle near a propane container at 406 S. Redwood Hwy. He was wearing a black stocking hat and gray coat. The manager requested that the soggy guy be trespassed from the Junction Inn. Eviction assistance was also needed for guests who were overstaying their welcome. *The muddy intruder with short-term memory loss returned to the Junction Inn and was removed from the property again at 2:57 p.m. *At 2:15 p.m. a woman driver pulled out of her driveway onto Rockydale Road in what she thought was a safe manner. A guy rocketing 80 mph skidded to a stop behind her, then passed her and slammed on his brakes. He confronted her and told her it was a good thing he didn’t have his gun in his car, because he would have used it on her. JCSO attempted to locate his vehicle, but it had been sold and there was no information on the new owner. *JCSO provided backup on Schumacher Street and Hussey Avenue at 3:15 p.m. *There was a rollover crash with a Ford Ranger in a ditch, and the motorist just wandered off from the 1600 block of Lakeshore Drive at 3:24 p.m. There was no injury or property damage, so the dizzy driver was warned for driving on a suspended license, and the truck was towed away. *An older guy was in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy., driving a red Dodge SUV with something on his lap at 5:34 p.m. He was last seen heading off into the sunset, southbound on Hwy. 199. *Lake Selmac was peaceful at 1:01 p.m. *The stocking hat guy was hanging outside a building in the 100 block of S. Kerby Avenue at 1:33 p.m., and someone phoned 911 saying that he was smoking from a meth pipe. When law enforcement contacted the dude, he stated he was not under the influence of drugs or intoxicants. He was just looking at a game that he had found in a dumpster. He has a post office box at the O’Brien Country Store, but he currently lives on the street. He was cooperative as he gathered his things and moved on, but he is no longer welcome at that location. *Melissa Lowenstein, 50, is lodged at Josephine County Jail again, following her arrest in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 2:17 p.m. She was charged with failure to appear on second-degree trespass charges and had a warrant. Friday, Nov. 18 *Four or five guys in a white and green Econoline-type van followed two young girls who were walking alone in the 200 block of S. Old Stage Road at 10:16 a.m. A protective citizen gave the children a ride home. *Transients were huddled around a warming fire under a coffee can at 1:14 p.m. at 406 S. Redwood Hwy. There was a tall man with long black hair, and another guy with black hair and mustache and a big knife attached to his pants. When the security personnel asked them to leave, the one with the knife stood up, but he did not brandish his weapon. They were not happy to see the guard, and eventually moved on. *An out-of-county sheriff’s office contacted JCSO regarding a stolen Dodge Caravan out of Medford. The owner recovered her own vehicle, but she had not informed the proper agency. JCSO advised that she not drive her car any further until she did so. Thursday, Nov. 17 Saturday, Nov. 19 *At 11:08 a.m. a daughter reported that her father punched and choked her in the 8000 block of Holland Loop. She wanted to go back home, but she didn’t want her dad to get away with assaulting her again. There was no evidence of a crime, just some pushing and shoving in a dispute over marijuana. All parties were advised of their options. (Try toking instead of choking.) *The manager at the Old Stage Mini-Storage allegedly changed the locks on one of the storage units because of a $700 balance due on the account. He told the delinquent tenant if the money was not paid, her belongings would be brought to the dump. Allegations of burglary, firearm and assault were unfounded in this civil matter. All parties were advised of their options. *There was an abandoned blue Subaru in the 9000 block of Holland Loop at 12:45 p.m. It was tagged to be towed on Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. *Another vehicle was tagged at 12:47 p.m. This one was a red Ford F150 which was abandoned in the 5000 block of Caves Hwy., and will be towed on Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. *Cannaguard Security reported an alarm in the 5000 block of Waldo Road at 11:17 a.m. *A thief climbed over a fence in the 700 block of O’Brien Road. He then disconnected the charging wires and stole a 12-volt Napa battery located by the gate controller box. The battery was valued at $126.56, but was priceless to open the front motorized gate. *A third-party adjuster filing hazard insurance claims notified JCSO of an open vandalism claim in the 23900 block of Redwood Hwy. On Oct. 9, a wood stove was stolen or damaged to the tune of $1,275. *Someone alleged that the manager of a storage facility in the 100 block of S. Old Stage Road “straight up” told him he had been stealing from the units. The little birdie also insinuated that there may be a stolen Yamaha Enduro 250 motorcycle on the property.
