Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Saturday, Oct. 1 *An eagle-eye spotted some suspicious-looking folks behind the shed at the Junction Inn at 406 S. Redwood Hwy at 10:06 a.m. Four guys picked up something and unloaded a Terry trailer, then left in a hurry in a green SUV. It turned out they were staying there, which is why they parked their 16-foot trailer at that location. *A customer of a facility at 181 S. Old Stage Road was taking his frustrations out on the manager at 10:15 a.m. He was highly upset because items were stolen from his shed, and he somehow thought the manager should have stopped it. The intimidated employee locked the office because the angry man was 6 foot and 400 pounds. The manager wanted law enforcement to call the man, but that could have escalated the situation. When JCSO arrived, the grouchy guy apologized and agreed to wait for video footage to be processed. *When a dispatcher returned a 911 call from the 300 block of Conrad Drive at 10:55 a.m., there was only a message stating that the customer was unavailable. *JCSO drove by the 6700 block of Westside Road at 11:05 a.m. *Eight Dollar Road was patrolled from 11:33 a.m. to 12:57 p.m.; there were no apparent problems. *At 12:22 p.m. a Protection One Alarm was earning its keep, guarding a garage in the 100 block of Manzanita Lane. *There was a disturbance at 12:26 p.m. when a newer-model big white truck with a camper and a brighter-colored smaller truck rammed a gate in the 600 block of Glendon Road. Gun shots were heard before the smash and dash, and neighbors could be seen running down the road. One gal stated that it was her ex-boyfriend who wanted some property, but he owed her money so she was holding it as collateral. She claimed she fired a gun in the opposite direction to keep him away from her. Annie Oakley did not want law enforcement assistance. She was given information on restraining orders, and advised that she could not just keep his property. *On Sept. 24, a car was broken into at the botanical trail at 30365 Redwood Hwy. At the time, the suspect’s vehicle was a blue mid-90s Toyota Camry, but since then the car has been spray-painted black with a purple stripe down the hood. There’s a spoiler on the back, front-end damage, and an Oregon license plate. Outside the Valley *Eighteen items. Sunday, Oct. 2 *A deputy was checking a lean-to cabin built in the 6300 block of Deer Creek Road at 8:16 a.m., when a fugitive appeared. Jeffrey Engerseth, 42, was cited to appear on Jackson County warrants, warned for trespassing on Bureau of Land Management land, and given until Oct. 6 to move. *At 9:25 a.m. a motorist on FS Road 4105, beyond Illinois River Road, was warned for no valid operator’s license. *Not-so-techies were having i-phone issues and phoned 911 by mistake at 9:57 a.m. in the 6400 block of Takilma Road. *Everything was just fine in Jubilee Park at 10:19 a.m. *Something was going on 12 miles up FS Road 4105 at 10:27 a.m. for eight minutes, but no other details were provided. *Between July 29 and Sept. 14, two thefts were reported from a vehicle in the 300 block of W. Lister Street. The car owner said a personal check and her car registration, insurance and a registration form with her license number were all missing. She has since moved to California and wants the information logged in case WHERE’S THE ALARM? Old Stage Road when she saw “Li’l Bubba” take her new bicycle at 10:56 a.m. The bike bandit is described as 5-foot-6, thin, 20 years old, with blond or light brown hair and clean-shaven. His home is reportedly on Sawyer Street, just north of Schumacher Street. Can’t miss it, there are lots of bikes piled in the yard. *When two people returned from a hike at the Rough and Ready Wayside Park at 10:59 a.m., their vehicle’s passenger-side window was broken. Several items were missing, including the gold-colored Pelican Bay correctional officer’s badge, which was reported stolen to the proper authorities. (Wonder how much one of those goes for on the Black Market?) *Law enforcement stopped a vehicle three miles past Briggs Creek on FS Road 675 at 11:09 a.m. *At 12:19 p.m. OSP terminated their pursuit of a biker in a black jacket with a black helmet on a blue motorcycle with no license plate. He was last spotted at MP 27 flying south towards CJ. *On Sept. 17 between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m., a garage in the 200 block of Hanby Lane was burglarized. A Go- ped motorized, two-wheeled scooter valued at $1,500 and a skateboard valued at $400 were reported stolen. A report was filed for first-degree burglary and first-degree theft. *A newer, candy apple red- colored pickup truck was driving all over the road from the 600 block of E. River Street towards Laurel Road at 1:12 p.m. *A jalopy with a flat front tire needed to be towed from N. Hussey Avenue and Millie Street because it was a traffic hazard at 1:21 p.m. *At 2:42 p.m. a motorist was having issues as well as difficulties driving at MP 2 on Laurel Road, so he had a family member come to pick him up. *A landlord was not happy with a tenant who acquired a roommate without permission in the 2000 block of Laurel Road at 3:57 p.m. The occupants became abusive and threatening when they were told to move. Once the “friend” left, the situation was resolved. *In the 300 block of Merlot Drive at 4:19 p.m. there was a dispute over the sale of an English Bulldog valued at $2,500. Vet bills, cancelled checks and canine custody were deemed a civil issue, which will be pursued through small claims court. *On Sept. 25 a resident in the 100 block of Shadywood Drive complained of neighbors riding two- stroke dirt bikes 50-60 mph up and down the street. The citizen claimed they were loud and disruptive, and he was concerned for kids and animals nearby. He wanted law enforcement to please take care of the problem so he wouldn’t have to. They reportedly chopped into a water and power source to cause a short, allegedly with the goal of electrocuting anyone who touched the system. Most recently they threatened to shoot a family living nearby. Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) provided information on options regarding stalking orders. *A teacher at Lorna Byrne Middle School phoned 911 by mistake at 12:17 p.m., per office staff. *JCSO gathered information at the Old Stage Mini-Storage at 1:01 p.m. *A stumbling woman with a Chihuahua appeared to be on meth in the 800 block of S. Old Stage Road at 1:04 p.m. Justine Fair, 31, was being uncooperative in the patrol car, so she was detained at Josephine County Jail for first-degree criminal mischief from a prior incident. A helpful bystander volunteered to take care of her dog until she returns. Wednesday, Oct. 5 *Everything was OK in the 100 block of Shadywood Drive at 10:53 a.m. *At 11:56 a.m. trespassers in a green Volvo were given until Saturday, Oct. 8 to remove their belongings from Eight Dollar Road at FS 029. The license plate on their trailer was seized because it had been switched. *JCSO continued their patrol in the Eight Dollar Road area at 1:27 p.m. *Some guy said he needed police at 6 p.m., but he was mumbling so his address was indiscernible. His blued Ruger LCP-380 has black plastic grips and is in a wallet holster with no ID. *JCSO assisted Oregon State Police (OSP) at 3:48 p.m. on Redwood Hwy. at Wild Park Lane. *A trash-dropping loiterer might have been doing graffiti behind the old Subway at 220 S. Redwood Hwy. at 4:36 p.m. The litterbug gave the deputy a false date of birth and his middle name, then headed northbound on Redwood Hwy. They can include doors and windows. If there are non-releasable security bars on bedroom windows, they should either be removed or re- placed with releasable type bars. Draw your home escape plan showing each room of the home and directional arrows indicating how to escape from each room. Determine a meeting place outside the home where all occu- pants will gather once they have escaped. Make sure there is at least one working smoke detector on every floor of your home.
