Wednesday, August 31, 2016 Page A-7 Tales from the Rural Patrol (Editor’s note: Factual informa- tion for ‘Tales’ is provided by of- ficial law enforcement agencies. All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Charges can be amended or dismissed.) Monday, Aug. 22 *Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) received a lengthy email from a woman in the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 10:40 a.m. She detailed issues with her ex-landlord taking her mail, harassing her family and animals, conspiring with her neighbors, and snooping around her cabin with a Gopro camera. She claimed that the landlord also filed fraudulent elder abuse restraining orders, police reports and a small claims lawsuit. *A woman in the 200 block of Reagor Lane received credit cards issued in her name and the name of a stranger in Urbandale, Iowa. The same situation occurred three years ago involving $3,000 in fraudulent charges. JCSO provided a case number so the bank’s security department can investigate. *The 911 hang-up call from the 300 block of Caves Hwy. at 11:52 a.m. was just a misdial. *JCSO assisted at a fire on Pinewood Way and Redwood Hwy. at 4:37 p.m. Two structures were fully involved, with the fire spreading north to the wildland. *Young girls phoned 911 several times from the 1300 block of White School Road at 5 p.m. The pranksters were laughing and daring the dispatcher to do something about their behavior. When the dispatcher spoke with an adult, the kiddos denied making any calls. (Future Police Blotter characters?) *At 5:09 p.m. a somewhat aggressive blue heeler (dog, not oxygen- deprived doctor) was sitting on a porch, hassling the neighbor’s cat in a duplex in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. Outside the Valley *Thirty-two calls. Tuesday, Aug. 23 *An unwelcome visitor was asked to move along from Jubilee Park at 11:33 a.m. *A restraining order (RO) was served in the 100 block of S. He was doing something wrong on N. Redwood Hwy. and W. Palmer Street. *JCSO drove along Illinois River Road past Deer Creek Ranch to check on a motor home that was tagged for towing the previous week. The campers were gone at 3:43 p.m. *A motorist from Nevada was warned for an improper turn in his Ford pickup truck at 5:01 p.m. on Hwy. 199 and Caves Hwy. *There was a code violation in the 300 block of W. Millie Street at 5:09 p.m. A person was cited into CJ Municipal Court for damage to water department equipment and unauthorized activation of water utilities. Outside the Valley *Twenty-nine situations. Wednesday, Aug. 24 *Everything was fine during an investigation in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. at 11:50 a.m. *A ganja grower from South Lake Tahoe, California decided the grass was greener in Oregon, so he moved his farm gear to the 5400 block of Westside Road to work at the BBB Ranch. When it was time for him to leave, a civil issue stemmed from a dispute regarding the preliminary grower’s agreement. If the dude from California ‘war- dials’ or ‘friend-shames’ his previous business partner again, he will not get his property back because it will be sold at the CJ farm auction to pay for storage fees. An itemized list includes: Stand up Trimpro trimmer $1,800; HydroLogic Small Boy de- cholorinator $150; Blulab PH/EC temp combo $325; Oregon Valley greenhouse 6mm greenhouse poly $750; and a Sunsystem Blaze fluorescent light fixture $250. *A gal in the 300 block of S. (Next time try the classified ads in the I.V. News.) *A prior tenant vacated a home in the 100 block of Mesa Verde Drive a month ago, but she was not removing her belongings in a timely manner.
