Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, July 11 *All was fine at Jubilee Park at 9:51 a.m. *There was an unoccupied vehicle off the roadway at Hwy. 199 and Rockydale Road at 10:19 a.m., but it was not a hazard. *At 10:41 a.m., someone in a hurry was admonished for speeding on Redwood Hwy. at Schuler Lane. *A traffic stop on E. River Street and Laurel Road at 12:39 p.m. resulted in a warning for violating the basic rules (VBR), expired registration and no proof of insurance. The driver had just got the car running and promised to get everything current before driving it again. *The Chevy Silverado that was pulled over on Caves Hwy. at Old Stage Road at 1:21 p.m. was towed away. That driver was cited for violation of driving while suspended, driving uninsured and failure to display plates. After removing all personal items from the car, the driver was provided a courtesy ride to O’Brien. * Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) provided assistance to Oregon State Police (OSP) with a pursuit in the 1800 block of Laurel Road at 2:37 p.m. *The intended recipient of a restraining order (RO) was not present at 3:59 p.m. in the 900 block of N. Old Stage Road. *A young lady with a half- shaved head was “physically harassed” out of her car by her boyfriend, who was reportedly verbally and physically abusive towards her. An employee in the 18000 block of Redwood Hwy. offered to phone law enforcement, but she declined because she was afraid he would hurt her more. She left with a stranger at 4:38 p.m. Her jerk of a boyfriend was cruising around in his purple-blue colored Impala with Iowa license plates, looking for her. The tattooed tormentor was last seen wearing a T-shirt with the arms cut out, shorts and a baseball cap. *At 4:42 p.m. a Chevy pickup truck was stopped in the 400 block of E. River Street, and the operator was cited and released for driving on a suspended license. *A Hyundai with switched license plates was spotted in the 400 block of E. River Street at 4:55 p.m. The driver was given a verbal warning on improper display of plates, no insurance, expired tags and no license. The Hyundai will be towed if it is driven before these items are rectified. *Two 911 hang-up calls came in from the 300 block of W. Lister Street at 5 p.m. *Two separate motorists were let off the hook for speeding on Redwood Hwy. at Ken Rose Lane at 5:12 and 5:19 p.m. *There was a family disturbance in the 1800 block of Laurel Road at 5:22 p.m. Outside the Valley *Eleven incidents. Tuesday, July 12 *JCSO patrolled the Illinois River Road and Briggs Creek Trailhead area starting at 11:11 a.m. There were site surveys on some mining issues. The registered owner of a van was warned for the 5th time to not reside on public lands, and given three days to vacate. (Some people just don’t take a hint.) *SOS reported an alarm triggered by interior kitchen motion in the 6100 block of Takilma Road at 12:19 p.m. *The driver of a Chevy pickup truck was cited to Josephine County Municipal Court for driving while uninsured on a suspended license following a traffic stop on Raymond Street and Junction Avenue at 12:23 p.m. *Contractors working in the 600 block of E. River Street inadvertently set off security alarms at 12:56 p.m. *Even though an honest chap admitted he knew the speed limit through Kerby was only 40 mph, he was speeding 58 mph at 1:20 p.m. on Redwood Hwy. at Kerby Mainline Road. His appearance date in court is Aug. 4. *The careless driver in a white-colored Mercedes or BMW sedan raced between two construction flaggers in the 100 block of Mesa Verde Drive at 1:57 p.m. A few days earlier the same clown almost hit two people riding horses on the road. Law enforcement were unable to locate a vehicle matching the description in the area. *An RO was served in the 900 block of N. Old Stage Road at 2:01 p.m. *Sarah Jaentsh, 25, was detained on Josephine County warrants after being combative and running in and out of traffic in the 900 block of Caves Hwy. at 2:31 p.m. *At 2:52 p.m. there was a collision between a 1994 Ford Expedition and a 2003 Toyota Camry on Caves Hwy. near S. Redwood Hwy. There were no injuries, and both vehicles were drivable. A verbal warning was given for a dangerous left turn. *Another driver was cautioned regarding expired registration tags at 3:11 p.m. on Redwood Hwy. near the Junction Inn. *Investigation continues at the apartments at W. Lister Street and S. Sawyer Avenue at 3:48 p.m. *There was a discarded animal carcass at the end of Lurline Lane at 4:21 p.m. *A red Mitsubishi with no steering wheel was towed from the 5500 block of Westside Road at 4:44 p.m. *An alert citizen observed the theft of an orange chainsaw from his neighbor’s property in the 4500 block of Thompson Creek Road at 5:54 p.m. The thief was described as a tall man with a heavy build, wearing dark clothes and a dark- colored hat. Outside the Valley *Seventeen situations. Wednesday, July 13 *There was a hit on the tamper zone, with a ‘smash and grab’ at Sacred Flower Medicinals in the 18000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 10:48 a.m. *A couple of bad actors were arguing at the stage at Jubilee Park at 10:53 a.m. Their performance was over before law enforcement arrived. *Harassment via text messages, a restraining order violation, was reported at 11:45 a.m. from the 5900 block of Westside Road. (Just block his number.) *At 1:42 p.m., there was a non-injury motor vehicle accident at Crooks Creek and Deer Creek Roads. *Facts were gathered at 205 W. Watkins Street at 1:59 p.m. Outside the Valley *Twenty-two log entries. Thursday, July 14 *Everything was under control at the Grayback Campground Road area when it was patrolled at 11:40 p.m. *A silver-colored 1992 Nissan Sentra was reportedly stolen from M&M Auto Care on Saturday night. Outside the Valley *Twenty-two incidents. Friday, July 15 *At 9:46 a.m. a concerned daughter requested a welfare check on her father because she had been unable to contact him for two weeks. The last time she phoned him, an unknown woman answered and would not tell the daughter who she was. When the dad was contacted, he said he would let his daughter know he was fine. *Information was redacted regarding an incident in the 900 block of Kirkham Road at 11:13 a.m. The case will be referred to the district attorney after further investigation. *Facts were gathered in the 25000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 12:42 p.m. *Information was obtained in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 12:48 p.m. *The Little Falls Campground was patrolled at 2:02 p.m. and the Eight Dollar Bridge area was inspected at 2:12 p.m. The same with Josephine Camp Campground at 2:34 p.m. *A passerby reported a man lying in the ditch near the 800 block of Caves Hwy. at 3:30 p.m. Medical assistance was provided to the fellow, who said that he had been assaulted in Jubilee Park the day before.
