Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, May 8 *The driver of a black Nissan SUV was warned for speeding and following too closely at milepost 25 on Hwy. 199 at 10:54 a.m. *Investigation continued at Kerby Mart at 11:10 a.m. *A white-colored Mitsubishi was pushed over the side of the embankment along Illinois River Road. When the car was located at 12:42 p.m., it was missing license plates and a vehicle identification number (VIN). *An intrusion alarm was activated at 12:47 p.m. at 103 S. Kerby Ave. *Something happened on Holton Creek Road at 4:44 p.m., but there were no notes on the log. *The next stop was in the 24300 block of Redwood Hwy. at 4:54 p.m., with no further details. *Everything was fine behind the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) gate at milepost 5 on Westside Road at 5:13 p.m. *Further research was done on the case in the 24300 block of Redwood Hwy. at 5:49 p.m. *Eight Dollar Mountain Boardwalk was patrolled at 6:02 p.m. Outside the Valley *Ten calls logged. Monday, May 9 *A 2011 Dodge Ram 5500 pickup truck with a crane, welder, oxygen and acetylene torches, valued between $200,000 and $250,000 was reported stolen at 9:22 a.m. from the 36000 block of Redwood Hwy. The vehicle was recovered by a U.S. Forest Service deputy later in the day. *At 10:09 a.m. a not-so-sharp shooter shot out the window of a car parked at 384 Lakeshore Drive. *There was more fact-finding regarding the case at Kerby Mart at 10:22 a.m. *A woman in the 500 block of Schumacher Street said that when she awoke at 6 a.m., her home had been entered, and her bedroom was ransacked. Her HP 17.5 inch laptop computer, purse and all the keys to her home were missing, and so was her white-colored 1994 Plymouth Acclaim. She stated that she had taken a pain pill and did not hear a thing. The crime was reported at 11:33 a.m. Reports will follow for first-degree burglary, second-degree theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (UUV). *At 3:28 p.m., a stolen vehicle was recovered on a U.S. Forest Service Road past Grayback Campground. There was some damage to the front bumper, but it was still drivable. Outside the Valley *Seventeen incidents. Tuesday, May 10 *At 9:38 a.m. a lady was frightened because there was a scroungy-looking man near her Durango parked at a rest stop one mile up Onion Mountain Road. She was wet and shivering after falling into a creek, and she sustained back injuries when she slid down a hill hiding from the skinny blonde guy, who apparently stole her black purse from her car. A report will follow for first-degree theft and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle (UEMV). *Information was obtained in the 800 block of Airport Drive at 11:50 a.m. *At 1:59 p.m., an unhappy boat owner reported that some low-life came into his boat storage and siphoned all of the gas out of his boat in the 6000 block of Deer Creek Rd. He is now shopping for a locking gas cap and a trail camera. *The Illinois River Trailhead was patrolled at 2:05 p.m. Outside the Valley *Thirty-two situations. Wednesday, May 11 *Somehow a driver in the 300 block of Caves Hwy. managed to jump the curb in a parking lot and ran into the side of a Fed Ex van at 11:07 a.m. Surprisingly enough, the driver was uninsured and driving on a suspended license, and he left before law enforcement arrived. *Two young children were bouncing around freely from seat to seat in a green Chevy Express van in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 12:16 p.m. The van was last seen heading southbound towards O’Brien, driven by a long-hair, tattooed dude. *An alarm was triggered in the 300 block of Caves Hwy. at 12:28 p.m. *An ex-girlfriend pulled a gun on her ex when he tried to pick up his property and vehicle in the 300 block of Clear Creek Road at 4:19 p.m. He was given advice regarding restraining orders. *There was a 911-call at 4:38 p.m. from the 100 block of S. Caves Ave. At first it sounded like there was a disturbance, but everyone soon calmed down. *Everything was OK during a traffic stop at Little Falls Trailhead at 4:48 p.m. block of S. Redwood Hwy. He was observed operating a gray- colored 1991 Ford F150, but no law enforcement was available in the area. *Josephine County Animal Control was informed regarding a creep with dirty blond hair and scruffy beard who was seen kicking and hitting his pit or shepherd-mix dog. The bully drives a larger blue truck, and was in the area of Reeves Creek Road and Redwood Hwy. at 1:15 p.m. Outside the Valley *Twenty-two incidents. Friday, May 13 *At 3:02 p.m. there was a naked chap near the Rough and Ready Mill. (Need I say more?) *An aunt was walking down Caves Hwy. carrying her nephew when she was nearly struck by a maroon 4-Runner at 3:47 p.m. A loose cannon with messy hair or dreads was in the back seat, and when he pointed a gun at her, she ran into the I.V. Building Supply. Law enforcement followed the vehicle to the dead-end on Lurline Lane, where they apprehended one instigator and another ran into the woods. A report will be filed for felony and misdemeanor elude charges. The complainant did not want to pursue charges because she did not see the firearm herself, and the dread-head was not in the vehicle when it was stopped. Outside the Valley *Eighteen log listings. Thursday, May 12 *An unattended death occurred in the 100 block of Tennessee View Lane, and was reported at 9:10 a.m. *At 11:49 a.m., someone reported an intoxicated driver who was parked at a saloon in the 100 *Two people were fighting in someone’s front yard in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. at 9:12 a.m. When the home owner asked them to leave, one jerk threatened to bust her face open. Derek Sell was detained at Josephine County Jail on outstanding warrants at 10:05 a.m. Outside the Valley *Nine items logged. Sunday, May 15 *On Saturday, May 14 at approximately 11:30 p.m. a patron at a bar in Kerby was told by several other customers that their car had been hit in the parking lot by a white-colored pickup truck that had left the scene. The impact damaged the radiator of the 1999 Chevy Cavalier, causing the antifreeze to leak out and the car overheated. Hopefully the business will have surveillance footage to capture the license plate number. *Litterbugs dumped trash in a driveway in the 400 block of Walters Drive and on the corner of Laurel Road at 11:08 a.m. A bill from Asante Medical Center was located in the garbage, and it has names and the address of the patient and guarantor. *Dispatchers received a hang-up 911-call from the 500 block of Fernwood Drive at 11:45 a.m. When they returned the call, a gentleman stated, “Whoever you are, I can’t hear a word you’re saying” and hung up. Illinois Valley Fire District (IVFD) will not respond for this type of call to do a welfare check without a verified medical emergency. *Former partners in the 3300 block of Rockydale Road are now feuding over ownership of several greenhouses, growing pots and soil. Threatening text messages have been sent. A voice mail was left advising that this is considered a civil matter and the partners were advised of options regarding stalking orders and civil standby with a court order. (Sounds like the partners need to indulge in some of their product and talk things over peacefully.) Outside the Valley *Twenty-three incidents.
