Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, April 11 *The only sound heard from a 911 call at 10:47 a.m. was the beeping of a check-stand in the 200 block of W. Watkins Street. *A gold 280 ZX Datsun with no license plates was towed from Dick George Road a few weeks ago. The status of the Datsun was unknown as to whether it was stolen or not. *A homeowner in the 37400 block of Redwood Hwy. complained of unexpected company when trespassers cut the lock and damaged the gate on undeveloped wooded property adjacent to her home. A white truck pulling a single-axle trailer, followed by a woman driving a dark car, just ignored the “No Trespassing” and “Private Property” signs. *Illinois Valley Fire District (IVFD) responded to a possible structure fire in the 37400 block of Redwood Hwy. at 11:31 p.m. The fire was a legally permitted open burn with legal burning materials. *Back on Jan. 29, a dim-wit used his brother’s name to get out of trouble during a traffic stop. The charges started out being failure to carry proof of insurance, operating without a license and without required lights. His brilliant plan backfired - add current charges of providing false information to a police officer. *Kids on S. Old Stage Road were playing around with the phone, making prank 911 calls at 12:11 p.m. and 12:46 p.m. A laughing little boy said “brother broke his arm” during one of the calls. *Information of some kind was obtained at 1:01 p.m. in the 300 block of Fir Drive, and at 3:46 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Kerby Avenue. Outside the Valley * 20 calls logged. the tires of his red Mini-Cooper or Fiat with a black top and black matte-finish rims. He smoked out a parking lot and left 200-foot burn- out marks near the 400-block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 11:37 a.m. *At 12:22 p.m. in the 200- block of S. Redwood Hwy., Cari Lee Genevera, 28, was detained at Josephine County Jail on a warrant charging failure to appear for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. *Facts were uncovered at Diggin Livin at 12:04 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. *A Dudley-Do-Right reported a garbage can in the middle of the roadway in front of the museum in the 24100 block of Redwood Hwy. at 12:59 p.m. (OK, why didn’t they just move the can out of the road? Why phone 911?) *Kaleb J. Bartee, 45, was detained on three “do not cite and release” warrants in Jubilee Park at 2:22 p.m. The warrants were due to his failure to appear on charges including disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree escape. *An explorer wearing blue jeans and a camo sweater was lost in the woods in Selma at 3:28 p.m. The camo apparently didn’t work, because she was located in the 1700 block of Draper Valley Road and given a ride back to Hwy. 199. *Law enforcement caught up with that red Mini-Cooper at 4:04 p.m. in the 20000 block of Redwood Hwy. Trenton Yost, 21, was cited into circuit court for his reckless driving. *An extremely intoxicated woman drove a dark purple Nissan SUV into a fence in the parking lot at Jubilee Park. The belligerent person was arguing with another parent and Little League coach at 5:13 p.m. She was eventually located in a driveway at 440 S. Junction Avenue, but her enabling friend stated that she was the driver, not her inebriated buddy, so law enforcement officers were unable to prove that the intoxicated woman was behind the wheel while it was moving. Outside the Valley *19 situations noted. Tuesday, April 12 *Community Oriented Policing Services were provided at the Illinois Valley High School (IVHS) at 11:14 a.m. *A young hot-rodder wearing his hat on backwards was screeching Wednesday, April 13 *The 911 phone call was just a pocket dial at high noon from S. Redwood Hwy. *Some joker stole a Sony Playstation 3 and five games from the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. The stolen items were valued at $399, and the theft occurred between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. *A downed high-voltage line caused a fire in the ditch on Holland Loop at Caves Hwy. at 6:33 p.m. *Another hot power line was down on the roadway in the 23600 block of Redwood Hwy. *Outdoor smoke was spotted at 6:46 p.m. in the 2600 block of Deer Creek Road. *There was a tree on fire on a power line, blocking the road in the 200 block of S. Old Stage Road at 7:03 p.m. *At 7:04 p.m. another fire was reported at Redwood Hwy. and Hogue Drive. Outside the Valley * 35 log entries. Thursday, April 14 *A slender redhead with a beard and mustache was layering stolen clothes under his grey sweatshirt in a store in the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 12:29 p.m. The manager requested that the local transient be trespassed from the property because this is an ongoing issue. *Divorce is difficult, but that is no reason for an estranged wife to steal a box of DVDs from the children of her ex in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. The fuming father was advised that married couples cannot be prosecuted for stealing from one another as this is a civil issue. The persistent dad maintains that since the children aren’t hers, then Cruella has stolen the DVDs from the children, not him. Outside the Valley *11 recorded incidents. Friday, April 15 *More details are needed for a stolen vehicle signature form regarding a two-toned, teal green and grey vehicle that was reported missing at 3:19 p.m. from the Cave Junction substation. The form was filled out incorrectly. *The intended recipients of restraining orders were not located at 5:14 p.m. in the 300 block of McMullen Creek Road or at 5:29 p.m. in the 7900 block of Deer Creek Road. *Everything was fine during an area check at Eight Dollar Mountain at 6:15 p.m. *Several people were contacted by law enforcement at Eight Dollar Bridge at 7:05 p.m. *Clueless campers were warned about their abandoned campfire at the Josephine Camp Campground at 7:39 p.m. Hwy. at 10:47 a.m. *A drunk was driving a brownish-red Toyota 4-Runner with a broken back window from bar to bar in CJ at 11:11 a.m. He was yelling about dogs not being on a leash, but then he locked his poor terrier-cross pooch in his truck with the windows up. The obnoxious ogre was in his 40s, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a gray sweater jacket and a camo jacket. The belligerent bully was cited into CJ Municipal Court for improper display of license plates, failure to carry proof of insurance and not signaling for a left turn. After his citation, he headed back towards the bar instead of his residence in Selma. *At 2:23, a citizen flagged down the cruiser on S. Redwood Hwy. at E. Lister Street. *Minutes later at the same location, the driver of a white GMC Sierra dually was cited into CJ Municipal Court for no insurance and failure to renew registration. *The 911-call from the 200 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 3:16 p.m. was probably a welcome relief for dispatchers. Two little girls were heard singing and requesting Dilly bars as their dad placed their order at the drive-through window. *A motorist in a Crown Victoria was advised of the tow policy and will be appearing in CJ Municipal Court following a traffic stop at 3:45 p.m. on S Redwood Hwy. at E. Lister Street. The charges are uninsured driving, no operator’s license and illegal display of plates. *A tattle-tale on Deer Creek Road was warned about misuse of 911, because at 3:58 p.m. she reported that a guy had a warrant, which was not accurate. *The fellow swears it was not intentional, and he wasn’t stalking his neighbor at 4:39 p.m. They both just happened to be in the Dollar General shopping at the same time. Per e-Courts, the final order is still valid. *Domestic violence was reported on Redwood Hwy. in front of the Oregon State Forestry Office at 5:35 p.m. A shirtless jerk wearing shorts was grabbing a woman by the neck and trying to push her into the street. There were no deputies in the area. Outside the Valley *29 logged listings. Saturday, April 16 *The 911 call at 10:12 a.m. from Martin Road was a false alarm. *Facebook postings assisted in the recovery of a stolen gray and green 2000 Subaru Legacy. The car was located on Glendon Road in Kerby. *The Forks State Park was patrolled at 11:02 a.m. and all was fine. *At 11:18 a.m. some punk kid from the 300 block of S. Junction Avenue phoned 911, made a vulgar statement and then hung up. He phoned again alleging that Jubilee Park was on fire, which it wasn’t, according to IVFD. *Jubilee Park was patrolled from 12:47 p.m. until 1:12 p.m. *The SOS alarm rang at 2:58 p.m. in the 3000 block of Lakeshore Drive, but it was beyond available resources for officers to respond. *An area on Reeves Creek Road was being used as a large dump site, but mail and a license plate were found in the ruins. An abandoned RV was still smoldering and partially on fire. *At 5:01 p.m. a black street bike was going 95 m.p.h. towards Grants Pass. By 5:08 the motorcyclist was spotted at Helms Road, and Oregon State Police (OSP) radar pegged the bike as doing 126 m.p.h. *Everything was fine in the 100 block of N. Caves Avenue at 5:57 p.m. – just gathering information. Same thing at 6:24 p.m. in the 100 block of S. Hussey Avenue. Outside the Valley *15 incidents Sunday, April 17 *Some yellow-belly stole a green Subaru Legend overnight on April 14 from the 200 block of W. River Street. *Lake Selmac was patrolled at 10:38 a.m. *The driver of a red Blazer was cited into Cave Junction Municipal Court for no valid operator’s license and improper display of plates following a traffic stop on Caves Outside the Valley *20 items recorded.
