road. Beyond the yellow gate, there
was a silver/gray/black “Echo” car
being stripped at 2:47 p.m. Law
enforcement was unable to locate
what was left at 3:28 p.m.

city maintenance personnel met at
Jubilee Park at 11:05 a.m.

a home on Green Valley Drive,
and she was driving around with
a loaded 9mm (style is 9mm)
firearm. Judy Larson, 60, was cited
to appear for driving under the
influence of alcohol, with a blood
alcohol content (BAC) of .23.
She was detained at the Josephine
County Jail for a restraining order
violation.
*The pocket-dialer from Crest
Drive did not hang up from their
911-call at 2 p.m.
*A neighbor on S. Kerby
Avenue was borrowing a 1991
Mazda Protégé, with plans on
purchasing it. In the middle of
the night, the Mazda disappeared,
but it was recovered in the 100
block of Madrona Drive. Turns
out a friend of the victim’s brother
thought he had permission to drive
the Mazda.
*Just past the National
Forest Service sign on Onion
Mountain Road is a Bureau of
Tuesday, April 5
*The area in the 6300 block
of Deer Creek Road was checked
and presumably all was OK at
10:22 a.m.
*All was fine in the 3200
block of Waldo Road at 11:21 a.m.
*A worried woman found
numerous disturbing, rambling
notes in the newspaper box in front
of her gate in the 23000 block
of Redwood Hwy. in Kerby. She
felt threatened because there have
already been two fatal shootings
near that property, and she did not
want to be next. She was advised
of her options. (Steer clear of
dangerous, unstable people.)
*Nothing was heard on the
911-call from the 25900 block of
Redwood Hwy. at 11:42 a.m.
*A white Dodge truck was
being stripped on Althouse Road
near Tarter Gulch.
*No one knows why or at
what, but the guy in the 200 block
of Laurel Road was shooting
excessively with an automatic
pistol at 11:53 a.m.

Cadillac was cited into Cave
Junction Municipal Court after

was recovered following a traffic

stop resulted in a citation for a
driving while suspended license
violation, and a federal citation
was written for possession of a
controlled substance at 3:28 p.m.
Jeremy Sorensen, 32, was detained
at Josephine County Jail on new
charges and four warrants charging
distribution of a controlled

saddle company at 5:26 p.m.
Outside the Valley
*Incidents logged equaled 22.
Wednesday, April 6
*On Tuesday a multicolored
sedan was being raced through
town like a hot rod and jumping
curbs. By 9:20 a.m. Wednesday the
car was a hazard on the roadway
by Raymond Street and Hamilton
Avenue, and it reportedly looked
like it had been in a tow truck
competition. (Maybe they meant
tuff-truck?)
*A guy dressed in a lime
green coat and jeans was yelling at
people driving by in the 400 block

warning was given for expired
registration and a defective brake
light.
*Illinois Valley High School
(IVHS) was shut down at 11:55
a.m. following reports of multiple
gunshots. A perimeter check was
performed, and area properties
were investigated. It turned out to
be folks shooting clay pigeons in
the 1200 block of Laurel Road. The
marksmen were advised to let the
school know in the future before
they target shoot.
*Although some dude on
Madrona Drive swears he paid
$500 and received the title for
a 1985 Mazda Protégé, he was
unable to provide any bill of sale

to outrun police while driving a
yellow Honda quad on Caves Hwy.
at 1:31 p.m. It didn’t work. He was

PRESS RELEASE From 5/13/15
Date 13 May 2015
Insurance Service Office (ISO) Fire Insurance rating change for
the Illinois Valley
At the Illinois Valley Fire District Board meeting on Thursday,
May 14, it will be announced that ISO has concluded its review of
the Illinois Valley Fire District. The ISO has rated residences and
business within five miles of any IVFD station as a class 4 and
residences within 5-7 miles will receive a rating of 10W.
This rating is a significant improvement from past ISO ratings
and can potentially lead to a reduction in your fire insurance
premiums. This is up to the individual insurance carrier. The im-
proved ratings are due to shift based staffing from the volunteers,
improvements made to fire apparatus and sustained water supply.
The rating validates the increased level of fire protection that
IVFD provides the community.
IVFD wants to thank the volunteers and the Fire District Board for
their support for making this significant change possible.
