Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, March 21 * Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) investigated an alleged elder abuse situation involving a person who said he had been hit in the temple and the back of the head with a metal pipe. The hard-headed man was also upset that he had only received $50 since December in pay from the VA. The partially-deaf man heard a gunshot and hoped that some woman was still alive. A live electrical wire hanging over a branch needed tending. The suspicious incidents were unfounded, but Josephine County Animal Control Services did check on the status of two dogs who were allegedly being hit, kicked and run over by an old man in a wheelchair. *A vehicle was parked near Burgundy Lane and Lindilu Lane for a couple of hours, and it seemed suspicious because that car did not belong in the neighborhood. * Someone in the 1000 block of Lakeshore Drive was served a restraining order at 3:20 p.m. *A prior resident in the 6500 block of Rockydale Road returned to get her belongings, but whoever dropped her off would not come back to pick her up. It was decided that the woman would sit quietly and wait for a ride without bothering anyone at 3:56 p.m. *The intended recipient of a restraining order was not in the 500 block of W. Watkins Street at 3:42 p.m. Outside the Valley *There were 18 calls logged outside of the Illinois Valley. Tuesday, March 22 *At 11:05 a.m., that soggy woman was still sitting near the 6500 block of Rockydale Road, waiting for her ride. Her ex-housemate agreed to let her sit out in the rain if that’s what suited her, but he locked his doors. *Guys were heard shuffling around during a 911 hang-up call from the 300 block of Merlot Drive at 2:32 p.m. (Shuffling ? Cards or bodies?) *The driver of a silver Toyota Corolla nearly hit an oncoming vehicle on Redwood Hwy. near Draper Valley Road at 2:48 p.m. *A frightened woman said her neighbor saw a bad guy slinking near her home on Shadowbrook Drive, but there was no sign of the lousy lurker at 5 p.m. *JCSO assisted with a restraining order move-out in Kerby High Pines. *There were unknown injuries from a motor vehicle crash involving a GMC at S. Redwood Hwy. and Caves Avenue at 4:04 p.m. *Melissa Jayne Lowenstein, 49, was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 300-block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 5:48 p.m. The agitated woman was detained in the Josephine County Jail because she was pulling plants off the Treehouse Florist building. *A restraining order was served in the 200 block of N. Old Stage Road at 4:48 p.m. Outside the Valley *16 situations occurred. Wednesday, March 23 *Two brothers fought at their mother’s house on Schumacher Street while their mother languished in an assisted living facility. *JCSO helped keep the peace when a citizen with a stalking order needed to get his medications from a place on McMullen Creek Road. *At 1:05 p.m., a restraining order was served in the 200 block of McMullen Creek Road. *There was no answer following a 911 hang-up call on Martin Road at 1:15 p.m. *All was calm at the Forks State park at 3:29 p.m. *Some pyromaniac torched a tan mid-80s Oldsmobile at the gravel pit on Reeves Creek Road. No ID numbers survived the fire. (Hmm, imagine that.) The passenger right wing- window was broken out. Loss and damages totaled nearly $600. Outside the Valley *Twenty calls were logged. Friday, March 25 Outside the Valley *Twenty entries were logged. Thursday, March 24 *A clean-shaven guy in his 20s was slumped over the wheel of a black Toyota pickup on a dirt road off Glendon Road at 9:27 a.m. He appeared to be breathing, but the 911-caller did not knock on the window or make contact to find out. Apparently the shaven slumper was fine, because at 9:43 a.m. he woke up and drove off. *There was a transient sleeping in the bushes near the drive-up window at the bank in the 100-block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 1:33 p.m. *An individual was served with a restraining order in the 3700 block of Dick George Road at 3:20 p.m. *Nothing happened at 3:36 p.m. in the 600 block of Caves Hwy. *Two Shelby speakers and a dirt bike helmet were stolen from a brown Ford Ranger single-cab truck in the 100 block of Finch Road. *A homeowner on Ollis Road armed his SOS alarm at 9:48 a.m., but he didn’t exit quickly enough, which tripped the alarm. *There was an estate dispute with siblings feuding over family photos taken without permission in the 24500 block of Redwood Hwy. at 12:16 p.m. *The 911 hang-up call from Hogue Drive was a pocket-dial. The dispatcher learned all about their vacation plans, but there was no signs of a disturbance at 2:07 p.m. Outside the Valley *There were 22 listings. Saturday, March 26 *At 9:04 a.m., a man phoned from behind the Holiday Motel, where he was chasing someone who had broken into his residence. He had found the brazen 18 to 20-year-old in his guest house. The tattooed thief was six feet tall, weighing 180 pounds, and may have red hair. The bumbling burglar left behind his clothing and cell phone. A report was filed for first-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief. *Two campers on Takilma Road have a few days before their time limit is up, but first they need to leash their dogs and take care of their garbage. The second motor home was vacant at 11:14 a.m. *There was a 911 hang- up call from the 800 block of Glendon Road at 1:10 p.m., but there were no signs of a disturbance. *The coast was clear at the Little Falls Trailhead at 2:43 p.m., and at the green bridge on Eight Dollar Mountain Road at 2:55 p.m. *A large bull ran onto the Redwood Hwy. at Westside Road at 3:37 p.m. The tale of the bull was told to the Oregon State Police (OSP). (Nice to have steer problems instead of fear problems in the blotter.) *Some guy and a little girl were setting up camp in the parking lot of the Bi-Mor Tobacco Station at 4:44 p.m. The tiny lass was sleeping on a dog bed with a small sleeping bag, and they were on foot with no vehicle. Quite a few transients were walking past and yelling. They all disappeared by the time law enforcement arrived. Outside the Valley *There were a dozen incidents recorded.
