Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, Jan. 4 *At 11:13 a.m. a Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputy was out with a car near milepost 8 of Caves Hwy. (Oregon Hwy. 46.) No other information was provided. *In the 28000 block of Redwood Hwy. (Oregon Hwy. 199) there was a deceased person with a DNR (do not resuscitate) order on file. A funeral home was dispatched. Monday, Jan. 5 *There was a report from a Cave Junction business owner of an assault. He said that when he tried to “clear the air” with some dude, the latter jumped on him and “was trying to choke me and hold me down by pushing his forearm into my head. He put his hand over my mouth and nose, stuck his finger in my mouth so I bit it, he then proceeded to bite my left cheek. I had my arm around his neck so he was unable to punch, so he picked up an object that I believe to be a rock and hit me in the back of the head. At one point during the scuffle, he said to others there to get him a shovel so he could kill me. I told him, ‘You better kill me because if you let me up I am going to kill you.’ When I dropped my jacket, money from my weekend receipts fell out. When he saw my wife coming, he got off me, and either he or one of the other two guys there took the money as they fled.” The complainant wants the suspect warned for trespassing. *At Caves Hwy. and Laurel Road a motorist (Not Identified in the Log/NIL) was warned for speeding. And another motorist (NIL) was stopped for some reason at Lurline Lane and Laurel Road. *For some reason, thieves took a 41-year-old Buick, it was reported, on Arrowhead Drive in O’Brien. *In Downtown CJ 14.pdf a deputy was handed a Chihuahua found in the area. *Something about drugs was reported on Hussey Avenue, and the Rogue Area 4-08-2014.pdf Drug Enforcement team was 14-08-2014.pdf notified. All other information was redacted. *There was a complaint from Deer Creek Road in Selma of an attempted theft of a “barbecue trailer hitch lock,” which was damaged, as well as a fence. *Someone (NIL) was warned about having a dog off-leash at Hussey Avenue and Schumacher Street. *Identify theft was noted by a Selma resident, who said that his credit rating is being ruined. His son’s wife might be involved, and the complainant said one bill is for $2,564 from Verizon Wireless, but that when he asked his son about it, he claimed that “they never had Verizon Wireless.” *At Caves Pharmacy a woman was being disorderly, but then went outside. She was not located. *Harassment by a man since she and he broke up several month ago was reported by a woman on Hussey. She’s working on a restraining order (RO). *Following a disturbance on Lakeshore Drive a man, who was said to have been drinking, was given a courtesy ride to Grants Pass. No crime was listed, and all parties were counseled. *On N. Old Stage Road a man and a woman on bicycles were said to be acting disorderly under a bridge. When the complainant asked them to leave they were “verbally abusive,” and headed toward Jubilee Park. Tuesday, Jan. 6 *Gwydion Francis, 20, was arrested on Lister Street on a charge of probation violation, and taken to the Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass. *Theft of a red 2008 Kawasaki Mule ATV from the compound was reported at the U.S. Forest Service station in CJ. *RO violation was reported on Kerby Mainline. And a report was pending on the violation, plus third- degree criminal mischief and burglary and theft, both in the second degree. Some details were redacted, but it was stated that the suspect was going to use an ax to get into a residence. *Two threatening, harassing squatters were complained about by a man in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. He was advised of the civil process for eviction. *A non-injury accident in a backing-up situation was reported in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. in CJ. The IDs of those involved were NIL. *An intoxicated woman who “threw a rock through a window” on S. Old Stage Road was pushed by the victim, and the woman “fell and hit her head.” No crime was indicated, and the rock thrower was taken away by her mother. No injuries were listed. Wednesday, Jan. 7 unlocked for an extremely brief time, and when she went back, someone had entered and dumped the contents of her purse. Credit cards and cash were missing. The suspects are known. *A JCSO deputy was out with federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employees at the Botanical Wayside Boardwalk Trail off Eight Dollar Road. Use of an off-highway vehicle in a closed area was being investigated. *Out Indian Creek Road a JCSO deputy affixed a BLM warning sticker about a 14-day stay limit to a motor home. *A restraining “stalking” order was served on Deer Creek Road. *There was a 911 hang- up call at 3:25 p.m., probably due to children fooling with a telephone, from S. Kerby Avenue. *From S. Hussey Avenue came a call that a young, thin Hispanic woman “test drove” a ‘99 gold-colored Ford F- 150, but never returned. The vehicle was not located. *Following a vehicle stop at 5:35 p.m. at E. River Street and N. Junction Avenue, the vehicle was impounded. Sebastion Cree Soloman Glenn, 27, was cited on charges of driving while suspended and lacking insurance, and warned for failure to yield before entering a roadway and using head lights when required. And he was cited to appear under a Grants Pass Police warrant charging failure to appear on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant. *Someone (NIL) was warned for failing to dim his high beams at 6:16 p.m. at Caves Hwy. and Junction Avenue. *And at 6:34 p.m. a man (NIL) underwent a field interrogation at the rear entrance to Jubilee Park. The ID he gave didn’t match with reality, but he was let go at 6:41. a deputy went to the campground below the Eight Dollar Bridge. *At Redwood and Caves highways, a motorist (NIL) was warned for no mud flaps and defective brake lights. Sunday, Jan. 11 *In Selma a squatter using half of a double- wide manufactured home, discovered two weeks ago, was given 30 minutes to pack and get out. Junction Avenue that her husband had “destroyed the house” and was “walking around with two guns and threatening the complainant,” a deputy arrested Robert Leo Davis, 38. He was charged with domestic menacing and being a felon in possession of a weapon; and arrested under a misdemeanor warrant from Linn County.
