Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Sunday, Oct. 12 *An OSP trooper stopped a pickup truck on Forest Service Road 4105 out Illinois River Road and found a spike buck deer in the bed “that the suspect admitted to killing, thinking it was a forken horn.” William Leroy Blankenship, 35, of Cave Junction, was cited on a charge of unlawfully taking a spike deer, which was seized as evidence. *Close to 9 p.m. Samuel James Scevers, 27, was arrested by an OSP trooper at Redwood Hwy. and Lister Street in Cave Junction after he was seen driving and his license plate was run. The check showed that there was a felony warrant for his arrest so he was taken into custody and placed in the Josephine County Jail in Grants Pass. Monday, Oct. 13 *On Schumacher Street a landlord was “advised of his options” for some reason by a deputy from JCSO. *Attempted burglary at 2:26 a.m. was reported on N. Redwood Hwy (address not provided). Someone “broke a door and fled when the alarm sounded.” A report on second- degree criminal mischief was pending. *A restraining order (RO) was served on Fernwood Drive. And one was served on Hay’s Cut-off. *Work to repair a vehicle damaged on July 16 was listed at $1,506 by a resident on Takilma Road, who wasn’t sure where the vehicle was when it was maliciously damaged. The complainant also has concerns about a neighbor “dumping garbage in the pond on the neighbor’s property” and the number of trailers parked there. Another neighbor, it was stated, sent a letter about the matter to the Environmental Protection Agency, and the county health department might also be notified of health concerns. *People on Lakeshore Drive in Selma were having a landlord-tenant dispute, and there was a related problem about child custody. *Breaking into the Cave Junction Video Mart was the objective of someone who broke a 3-by-6-foot window at 2:25 a.m. The complainant has photos of the vehicle involved and a description of the person. *Someone received a restraining order in the 37000 block of Redwood Hwy. *Fraud was noted by a rural CJ resident after a credit plan for $1,800 with her veternarian was being checked, and she found that someone had charged $359 in a probable ID theft case to obtain dish coverage for TV programming. *A former tenant on N. Junction Avenue in CJ “has been harassing the current tenants, because she feels that someone at the complex had stolen her cell phone. She is now periodically driving by the complex with her six children in her vehicle; doing burnouts in the gravel and knocking over garbage cans.” *In CJ at Lister Street and Kerby Avenue the driver of a scooter was warned for having neither an operator’s license nor a helmet. He was advised to push the scooter home. Outside the Valley *Thirteen logged. calls were Wednesday, Oct. 15 *An RO was served on Lister Street in CJ. *A deputy and a trooper went to the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. to serve an RO, but there was “negative contact.” *There was “a suspicious vehicle” reported in the 26000 block of Redwood Hwy. Illegal weed and guns were observed inside the vehicle by two U.S. Forest Service employees, but when a deputy went to check the car was gone. *There was no response to a residential alarm on Gold Canyon Drive, as JCSO termed it “beyond available resources.” *Concern was expressed by relatives of a CJ couple in connection with a medical appointment because they didn’t show up there. However, all turned out well. *Raymond Mathes, 24, was arrested in the 25000 block of Redwood Hwy. on a charge of probation violation and taken to county jail. He also was jailed under a Medford Police warrant charging failure to appear on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant. *An unidentified man and his gear and his dog were given a ride away from the Onion Mountain Lookout after someone heard the dog barking inside. The man was warned about criminal trespass. Outside the Valley *The log lists 11 calls. Thursday, Oct. 16 *JCSO was notified that a residence on Mina Lane now is owned by a bank. *A couple on Hanby Lane, including the husband being intoxicated and pushing his wife out the door, had their own disturbance the night before, and OSP gave them the choice of one leaving the home temporarily or both being arrested on a charge of domestic violence. Children were involved. JCSO found today that the couple is working to iron out their differences. *On Dick George Road a man, 93, died. I.V. Funeral Home was en route. *On Garner Road a deputy backed up a probation officer in the arrest of Israel Hopper, 31, on a charge of probation violation. He was taken to county jail. Outside the Valley *There were 12 incidents including a robbery report from Russell Road that eventually resulted in the arrest of Kenneth Clarence Murray, 48. He was charged under a Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety warrant charging manufacture, possession and distribution of methamphetamine, marijuana, oxycodone and hydrocodone, and criminal forfeiture of $500,000 bail. He also was charged with parole violation in connection with dangerous drugs. Friday, Oct. 17 *An RO was served in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. *There was what was determined to be a civil matter involving a vehicle that had been impounded, as there was a question about transferring a title. *Despite two hang- up 911 calls from the same Reeves Creek address no problem was located, and it was not known why the calls came in. *OSP responded around noon to a motor vehicle crash with injury to the driver reported at Redwood Hwy. and one end (which one not specified) of Draper Valley Road. *In the vicinity of Airport Drive and Buck Canyon Road, said someone, a 25-foot motorhome is on land owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BL M). JCSO found that BLM is aware of the RV and is taking care of the matter. *On Caves Hwy. a deputy worked to provide assistance to someone who didn’t know the password for their cell phone. *Something involving a vehicle on S. Old Stage Road occurred. And nearby on the same roadway there was a hang-up 911 call, but no problem was noted. *At E. River Street and Caves Avenue an unidentified person was cited on a charge of having switched license plates and warned for speeding. Outside the Valley *Six calls today.
