Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** RURAL PATROL BOB RODRIGUEZ Friday, Sept. 26 *Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was to advise Oregon Dept. of Trans- portation that a “Passing Lane Ahead” sign was broken off at the ground on Redwood Hwy. near Anderson Creek. *Forks State Park was patrolled shortly after 9 a.m. *Someone from Illinois Valley stated that the day before, while he was in his parked vehicle at a Cave Junction business, some dude from Eureka, Calif. managed to damage the stationary car with a trailer that he was towing. The complainant also said that he was injured in the accident, but that he didn’t realize it until after the mishap. *“Four small marijuana plants” were seized (uprooted) by a deputy at a CJ resi- dence after a tip from the Dept. of Human Services. The plants were in a fenced area outside a home where a mother and father and their five children reside. *There was a a complaint from a woman in CJ that a man is sending harassing and threatening text messages, and that he has photographed the complainant in an apparent child custody situation. It also was stated that the texter is threatening to get the woman’s current husband , who is on probation, in trouble with false drug and alcohol charges. Outside the Valley *Nine calls, including one from a man on Redwood Avenue, who said that two guns and a special mechanic’s tool were miss- ing from under his bed, and pain killer from his nightstand. He also noted that when he arrived home the night before he “noticed a large wet stain on my bed sheets and my pil- lows were soaking wet.” (Humm, interesting … ) Monday, Sept. 29 *A hole in a fence, called “an ongoing problem” was reportedly being used by two men to gain access from Schumacher Street into a gated community on E. Forks Circle. *Following some sort of accident at Redwood Hwy. and Reeves Creek Road, one driver was said to be arguing and refusing to exchange information. A trooper from Oregon State Police (OSP) was to respond. A bit later the trooper asked for backup, as two women in one car were “being belligerent” to the other driver and had phoned friends to come to the scene. *In Downtown CJ some fellow wear- ing brown trousers and a black shirt without sleeves had a backpack and was carrying a wrench between two businesses. He jumped a fence, and when a deputy arrived he found the backpack and the wrench, but no fellow. (Fashion advice needed here.) *A deceased person was reported in the 32000 block of Redwood Hwy. *Jubilee Park was patrolled on foot by a deputy not long past noon. *The joker who jumped a fence was back. *OSP reported receiving a call about a I.V. GUNS & AMMO 541-592-3349 WHERE’S THE ALARM? deceased person on Garner Road. *Outside the Valley *Seems as though there were 21 calls (yes, 21), none of them greatly consequential. Tuesday, Sept. 30 *Near E. River and N. Old Stage roads a driver test riding a motorcycle was warned about not having a driver license or plates on the bike. *In the vicinity of Crest Drive a van reported stolen was located due to a tip from a friend of the victim. *In Jubilee Park a man punched a woman, according to a phone call from someone who didn’t want to get involved. A deputy located the pair, who both claimed that the incident was “verbal only” although some scratches were observed. “No crime” was listed. *Right about 2 p.m. a deputy advised that he was in pursuit of an orange-colored dirt bike headed toward Evergreen Elemen- tary School. As a patrol car normally can’t go where an off-road rig can, the pursuit was ended at the end of Schumacher around River Street. *Some sort of disturbance was reported in the 7800 block of Deer Creek Road. There were references to guns being shot at other times, and it seemed as though one of those involved today was drunk. Outside the Valley *Some 16 calls were logged. Friday, Oct. 3 *A glass breakage alarm came from the Illinois Valley Family Coalition center on E. River Street, but then the call was canceled, as all (apparently) was well. *From Three Rivers Community Hospi- tal Emergency Department came a call from a concerned clerk that an O’Brien resident was frustrated with the referral system and made a comment that could be taken as a suicide threat. *Menacing and threats, including what was said to be a situation in which a man pulled a gun, were reported from a CJ resi- dence. *Somethings not clear were noted on Madrona Drive and S. Junction Avenue. Outside the Valley *Would you believe 18 calls? Junction Avenue at 8:09 a.m. However, the situation turned out be no big deal, and the caller was advised to phone again if the person who wouldn’t leave, but eventually did, came back. It turned out to be an evic- tion situation with the tenant stating that she would leave and quit damaging her rented apartment. *A suspicious vehicle with two people inside was reported at Laurel Cemetary, and they were told to get out (but not using those words).
