*Harassment by someone, described as “a greasy looking
fat man, who said he was a process server,” was reported by a
woman in Selma.
*A situation termed as a violation of a restraining order in
Takilma by the complainant was not that, but there was a doc-
umented case of a driving complaint, said Josephine County
Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
*Following a death in Selma a relative said that it seemed
suspicious. JCSO said that there was no indication of foul play,
but the relative was going to contact an attorney.
*Between Selma and Kerby an abandoned vehicle was re-
ported on Redwood Hwy.
After a report that transients were fighting due to a dog
being killed, and that 14 people were screaming at each other,
a deputy responded to Jubilee Park with lights blazing and si-
ren screaming around 11:30 a.m. The only notation as to the
outcome of this call is that someone was cited to appear on a
charge of having an animal at large.
*Some dude driving a van and towing an empty trailer
was said to be all over the road on Redwood Hwy. and nearly
causing head-on collisions near Eight Dollar Road. A deputy
stopped the driver and found that he was not intoxicated, but
tired. He was going to get a room at the Junction Inn. ODOT
was going to be notified about the driver.
*On W. River Street a man was “off his meds” and caus-
ing a problem. He had been living in a van after burning a shed
in which he was living. Ten minutes later the man was back,
and the complainant was given advice.
*An “older male was being assaulted by what appeared
to be a homeless man” at Jubilee Park. The call was logged for
information “pending a call from the victim reporting crime or
injury.”
Outside the Valley
*Of the 15 calls received, one was about a stolen Lincoln
Navigator found with the engine running and up to its wheels
in water at the Hog Creek Boat Landing. It appeared that the
driver “overshot the ramp.” (Good guess).
Tuesday, April 22
*There was “a scary male subject” standing behind a black
vehicle with a large white box on top of it on Lone Mountain
Road not far from Redwood Hwy., a person said. The person
wanted a deputy to contact the man, but could not explain why
he was scary.
*Community Bible Church was the victim after someone
stole both heat pumps. A report was pending on criminal mis-
chief and theft, both in the first degree. (Stealing from a church
... wow).
*When a residential burglar alarm sounded on Draper Val-
ley Road at 10:35 a.m., JCSO termed the call “beyond avail-
able resources.”
*Close to noon a woman phoned from Jubilee Park and
was whispering that she needed to go to the Crisis Resolution
Center in Grants Pass. llinois alley ire District and Ameri-
can Medical Reponse (AMR) personnel staged nearby, but the
caller was gone when a deputy arrived. “Subjects at the camp-
sites” in the park offered no help. Not long after, someone not
identified voluntarily agreed to medical transport.
*After loaning his car for a short time to someone in Ker-
by on Saturday, April 19, the vehicle hadn’t been returned, a
man said, even though he had tried three times to get it. (Hint
Don’t loan your car to anyone).
this time.”
*Hot food and inexpensive jewelry were taken from Shop
Smart Food Warehouse by a woman who skipped the cash reg-
isters, and the suspect is known. She was to be warned and told
that she is “trespassed” from the store.

Outside the Valley
*Fifteen calls were logged. They included theft of a purse
from an unlocked vehicle; and the arrest of Jesse John Beier,
39, on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault after a wom-
an was struck on her head four times while she was sleeping.
He was taken to county jail in Grants Pass.
*Six calls included one about a man and a woman with
“con icting stories.” She said that he is a drug dealer and threw
a .BB gun at her and threatened to taze her; he said that she at-
tacked his cars with a broom handle.
Wednesday, April 23
*The man who loaned his car and couldn’t get it back
reported that it had been returned to his residence with the keys
in it.
*Justice is sought by a Takilma resident, who stated that
at his home he has a Christ-based ministry and that three people
are making false claims about him, and that he has restraining
orders against them. He further complained that some $1,500
damage was caused to his buildings by “illegal entry” by JCSO,
and that he has contacted the FBI and a federal attorney and
written to the White House.
*A house-sitter in Selma blurted to 911 that “if he is found
dead” (at the place) that a certain person did it. He then hung
up. When 911 phoned back the sitter was concerned because
the residence owner’s brother threatened him and wants him
out of the place immediately. The caller was advised to phone
911 if the threatening brother shows up, and was counseled
about whether it’s worth it to stay there. He again hung up, and
the call was logged for information, as he is “not in danger at

*Fourteen calls came in. One was about a case of stolen
identity and filing tax forms. Others were about a stolen car,
harassment, stalking, and a woman worried that her husband
will use a gun on her when he gets out of jail.
Thursday, April 24
*From Selma a woman reported that another woman
ripped her off by sneaking into her home while she was sleep-
ing. (The complainant was sleeping not the accused person).
Missing are items including a gun and computer hardware. The
complainant added that other people in the area might also have
been ripped off.
Friday, April 25
*AMR medics decided to tend to a stricken man at the I.V.
Substation below the Cave Junction City Hall without waiting
for a deputy to respond. t was explained that the officer had
an extended response time, and medics were concerned that the
man was having a stroke.
*Someone was concerned about a woman on E. River
Street because of people at her home. As an OSP trooper was
nearby he checked and found the situation to be no cause for
concern.
Outside the Valley
There were nine calls from rural Grants Pass. They in-
cluded one about a former care-taker accused of writing $4,500
worth of checks on the account of his patient; and one about a
pitbull that was said to have attacked a young girl, but without
injuries reported. Animal Control was to be notified though.
