Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Friday, Aug. 16 *From Caves Hwy. a call came from a man claiming years of con- tinued harassment by neighbors in- cluding property damage, gunshots at night, and electronic interference. (Patience is a virtue). *A man at a Selma business was said to be cussing and fussing after a church van with a flat tire was stopped near his place. He had a knife in his belt and was said to be threatening and making comments that the van was blocking his busi- ness. *Animal Control was advised about a pitbull that might have been the one involved in an earlier game call. It wasn’t the same dog though. *Someone in Cave Junction re- ported child abuse of a youth with his mother in California. But a check by a deputy at the California site determined that the accusation was without merit. *Someone else in CJ stated that a skinny woman has been harassing him so much, and causing injuries to him, that his wife is leaving him be- cause she feels that he’s cheating on her with the skinny harasser. It was noted that the caller seemed like an emotionally disturbed person. *People evicted from a place on Deer Creek Road were steal- ing items, said the landlord, and he was upset at being told that it was a civil matter. Later he phoned to report that the former tenants, who were said to be tending a marijuana garden, caused him all sorts of prob- lems including property damage. He again was advised of the situation being a civil matter. During a third call the landlord said that the people had stolen some items and broken some windows. *On Draper Valley Road a wom- an was having trouble with a guy who had broken into her home, and she wants to press criminal charges. *Nasty people broke into a cab- in out on Illinois River Road and trashed it. They stole a gun too. *Elsewhere: --There was a “911 referral” to Oregon Dept. of Forestry after a call from Wolf Creek that a guy with a pickup truck and a chainsaw was busily cutting trees on property that he might not own. --A 2-quart jar full of marijuana buds was found on a trail at White- horse Park. A note on top of the jar read, “Take if you dare ‘cause drugs won’t work.” (Hmm ... that’s deep). --People on Elk Lane were smacking each other around in what first was reported as domestic vio- lence. However, no crime was de- tected, and it turned out that they were frustrated and got pushy amid moving from their residence. (Mov- ing can be emotional.) --Jorge Carro-Rodriguez, 40, already in the Josephine County Jail on other charges was arrested under a felony warrant listing failure to appear (FTA) on charges of posses- sion and distribution of a controlled substance/methamphetamine. (Some days are like that.) --After feeling intimidated by “pushy” people selling meat from a truck, a Cheney Creek Road resident bought some chicken so the people would leave. She then saw a tag advising that she had three days to change her mind and arrange for a pick up. So she canceled her check and left a message to get her chicken retrieved, but was worried that the people would be upset. (Good grief ... ) --A Grants Pass boy ran away from home, saying that he couldn’t stay there because his mom is so mean. She came to get him, and he went back. --A rural GP resident said that for several days she’s seen up to 12 Hispanic people in the area, and that she believes that they tried to steal her neighbor’s dog and a bucket. (See the possibilities here?) --High-frequency radio waves are inflicted on her by neighbors, said a rural GP woman, so she has to wear a helmet all the time. She wore the helmet to a recent court ap- pearance and while walking around Downtown GP. A judge has ap- pointed a guardian to help her. The woman said that after being in court the neighbors have increased the fre- quency of their radiation waves. Tuesday, Aug. 20 *Cari Lee Ginevera, 25, was arrested in Downtown CJ under a Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) warrant citing FTA on a charge of unauthorized use of a ve- hicle. The car Ginevera was driving was impounded. * A storage shed on S. Junction Avenue was broken into. *Helicopters dumped water on a fire in some “junkyard material” on Krauss Lane that was spreading to grass and brush. Why did the Jo Co Sheriffs Department respond to a fire? *Not in the Valley: --Second-degree burglary and first-degree theft were reported at the county animal shelter on Brook- side Blvd. --A strange man at a rural GP lo- cation ripped down a neighbor’s se- curity camera, broke his neighbor’s gate with his car and his stomach and was yelling about killing him and tossing large rocks over the fence while his seven children watched. The complainant said he seemed to “be on something.” --Two men and a woman were interrupted while burglarizing a home on Timber Lane, but they got away with a $7,000 paint sprayer, according to the home owner. --The front of Hidden Valley High School was vandalized. Trash was strewn all over, and items were broken and destroyed. The school was entered: eggs were thrown, trash spilled, lights broken, books thrown all over the floors, custodial items thrown all around. (Some kids really need educating). --After two of his neighbor’s dogs got into his chicken pen and killed all the birds, the owner went to the neighbor to talk about the situ- ation, and he “was not cooperative at all.” The complainant noted that the dogs were standing next to the neighbor with chicken feathers in their mouths, but the man “denied responsibility.” Animal Control was notified of the fowl matter. --Two burglaries involving jewelry, including a ring valued at $1,500, were reported at two rural GP locations. FTA on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII). --Two Washington men stole a 20-foot ski boat and trailer from Camp Joy Road, said a complainant, who stated that one of them believes that he owes them money. --While “collecting merchan- dise” from a home on Highland Avenue, two store employees said that the man with the merchandise seemed to threaten them with a loaded shotgun. They didn’t want to press a charge of menacing though. --A burglar trashed her home and took $800 cash and a diamond necklace, said a woman on Fruitdale Drive. Thursday, Aug. 22 *At Redwood Hwy. and Eight Dollar Road an unidentified motorist was warned about failure to obey a traffic control device. *Although a girl ran away from home in the 24000 block of Red- wood Hwy., the mother didn’t want to file a runaway juvenile report, as she was in contact with the girl. She left home after the mom took away her cell phone because she wouldn’t clean her room. *Away from the Valley: *Following a 911 hang-up call from Finch Road no one at the Ker- by residence would admit making the call. *While he was riding an elec- tric-powered scooter on the Kerby Bridge at Finch Road, said a man, a woman in a pickup truck hit him, causing him to strike the guardrail and suffer injuries. As the incident occurred March 17, it would be doc- umented, but that’s all. *Trespassing in connection with a child custody transfer was reported from Rockydale Road. *Major harvesting of marijua- na was occurring on Hummingbird Road, said a resident, who also not- ed that the grower uses his children to help with the harvest. And those involved also fired large-caliber weapons, said the resident. --Residents on N. Applegate Road complained that after they yelled at a FedEx driver to slow down because he swerved around them while they were picking up tree debris caused by a lightning strike, the driver got out of his truck and yelled at one man to “Bring it on.” --A Penny Lane resident stated that a man “with a Pakistani ac- cent” phoned to tell her that she had received a $9,000 grant from the federal government due to her good credit. The resident refused to cooperate. Instead, she advised law enforcement of what seems like a scam. --Following a report that a man was living under a railroad bridge in Merlin with an under-age girl, Dan- iel Patrick Culp, 24, was arrested under a JCSO no-bail warrant charg- ing probation violation/strangulation menacing. The girl was located and turned over to her probation officer. *Other places: Friday, Aug. 23 --Scott Wayne Chitwood, 43, was arrested by the Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety under a JCSO misdemeanor warrant charging FTA on a charge of contempt of court. --Sean L. Blocker, 41, was ar- rested by Medford Police under a JCSO warrant listing FTA on charg- es of contempt of court and failure to pay child support. -- Zachary Glen Sparks, 22, was arrested by Milwaukee Police under a JCSO misdemeanor warrant noting *The driver of a white “dually” was advised at the Wilderville scales that he was driving too fast. He had been observed speeding from O’Brien to Cave Junction before disappearing from view. (Magic? Antigravity?) *After some complaints about a reckless driver, Henry Sabitini Stom- mel, 23, was arrested at Redwood Hwy. and Deer Creek Road under a warrant charging FTA on something or other, and something to do with Wednesday, Aug. 21 I.V. GUNS & AMMO 541-592-3349 dangerous drugs. He was to be extra- dited to Alabama. *Shortly prior to 3 p.m. a house alarm sounded on Ollis Road, but no deputies were available to respond. *Not in the Valley vicinity: --Rebecca Kelly Mignerey, 44, was arrested by a Tillamook County sheriff’s deputy under a JCSO mis- demeanor warrant charging FTA on a charge of DUII, and cited to ap- pear. --Theft of a 10-wheel water truck was reported from Daisy Mine Road. (Shouldn’t be too hard to find.) --An OSP trooper recovered a stolen motorcycle at the county courthouse. --A Boyer Road resident stated that he hired a worker from Craig’s List to move items for him. The items were moved out of sight. The resident listed nearly $7,000 worth of cash, jewelry and other items as missing. --Subsequent to letting a man stay at her place on Rogue River Hwy., said a woman, she discov- ered that the had left with $40 of her money and her ATM card, which he used to charge $275 worth of stuff at a GP store. Saturday, Aug. 24 *Locks on eight storage units in CJ were cut off by some nut. A re- port on second-degree burglary was pending while those affected figured out what was taken. *Someone illegally entered a trailer and a van in Downtown CJ. *Someone else stole a ‘94 pick- up truck from Dogwood Lane. *An evicted tenant on Hum- mingbird Road was reported tearing things off the house that they had added as improvements. *People in the 9000 block of Takilma Road were having a land- lord/tenant dispute. *Some dude in the 1100 block of Caves Hwy. was firing a gun, and wouldn’t stop when a neighbor asked him to. *Still elsewhere: --Somewhere in rural GP a woman said that her drunken mother threw vegetables at her, and that she is not taking good care of her grand- children, as she put one in a clothes dryer and left another unattended by a swimming pool. --A home alarm sounded on Stringer Gap, but no deputy was available. --It appeared that someone tried to break into the UPS facility on Foothill Blvd. --Numerous gunshots in connec- tion with a marijuana garden were reported in a remote area.
