I came home from there with Congestive Heart Failure and my new life began. This problem is a balancing act between how much fluid you ingest and how much your body dispels, too much in and you end up in the E.R., too much out and you end up in the E.R. This is controlled by pills that must be taken daily and is a life threatening problem. Since August last year I have been to the E.R. a number of times by ambulance because my wife cannot drive at night and that is where I ran into “Doctor No” three or four times (name changed to protect the guilty.) This Medic seems to believe that his job is something other than transporting those who need medical help. For heart patients, one of the more prevalent signs of trouble is a shortness of breath. On Thursday morning February 21st at 5 a.m., after fighting a serious breath problem that kept me up all night, I called for an ambulance and Doctor No showed up. After taking my vital signs he decided my problem was nothing more than an anxiety attack and things went downhill from there. He also asked me what medications I was taking and I told him, but after I was safely tucked away in the gurney he went back in the house and got into the actual bottles and discovered that there were pills there I didn’t mention. During the ride into town he decided I needed an IV in my arm and when he couldn’t manage that in the moving ambulance it turned out that I had “flexed” my muscle in that arm and I ended up with a 3 X 4 bruise. Upon arriving at the E.R., I am listening to him relate what medications I am taking to the nurse, something that I had to correct after Doctor No left. You might like to know that the real Dr. at the E.R. didn’t believe I was having an anxiety attack and gave me medications that dispelled about a quart of fluid from around my heart and lungs in the next hour or so that solved the problem. If you run into Doctor No give him by best regards and tell him that the next time I will take the bus or ride my bicycle. Ellis Couron Cave Junction of Midget, Indy and Sprint cars.
