All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Thursday, June 2 * At 11:23 a.m., a woman was advised by Illinois Valley High School that her foster daughter left campus that morning at 9 a.m. Since the teenager has a history of running away, the woman notified authorities; then phoned to request that she be removed from runaway status when she returned to IVHS later in the day. * There was a verbal disturbance between a mother and her son in the 300 block of North Hussey Ave. at 1:41 p.m. The son said his mother was having drug issues and he was concerned for his 17- year-old brother because there wasn’t any food at the home. His father is currently in Iraq, and the family is upset that the mother is cheating on him and selling his belongings to pay for drugs. * Joshua Edmond Dangerfield was cited for driving while suspended, warned for not wearing a helmet and for operating an ATV on the highway in the 500 block of Laurel Road. His white, blue and orange Yamaha quad was towed by Valley Wrecker at 3:32 p.m. * When a man yelled at two guys for driving a blue Toyota pickup too fast in the 100 block of North Junction Ave., they came back threatening to drag him into the street. The man showed his .38 Special revolver to a short guy with a red beard and his taller buddy with short hair, but he claims he did not threaten them with it. * The extremely fast- talking mother on 300 North Hussey Ave. phoned to say her son just phoned her to tell her he took a computer and stereo cabinet and she wants him trespassed, although there is no evidence of a crime. * Judging by the blue paint on her mouth, a 45- year-old woman with long red/blond hair wearing a grey jacket and blue Levis looked to have been huffing paint. She refused to leave the Kerby Mart Deli at 24342 Redwood Hwy., and was still outside carrying shoes and looking like she was not aware of her location at 10:19 p.m. * At 10:44 p.m., the traffic light on Caves Hwy. at Hwy.199 was having issues. The light was constantly green for traffic on Caves Hwy. and constantly red on Hwy.199. * Law enforcement tried to contact the registered owner of a vehicle by knocking at a door on Redwood Hwy. in O’Brien. Although the deputy heard movement inside and heard someone say, “It’s a cop,” no one would come to the door at 11:33 p.m. Friday, June 3 * Although a woman in Kerby High Pines Trailer Park had bruises and admitted there was an argument earlier, she denied there was any violence. Statements from others at the scene couldn’t prove otherwise at 1 p.m. * An employee of the Dept. of Senior Services requested a welfare check on one of her clients because her bills were not being paid and her account was almost empty. The woman’s daughter said she had been out of state due to her father dying and that she had a check ready to take care of her mother’s finances. * Four apparent members of the Committee Against the All Night Safe and Sober Grad night were arrested for furnishing alcohol to a minor on Friday evening. One of them was also arrested for failure to appear for driving under the influence of intoxicants. * A brother and sister were on property without permission, cutting down trees and damaging property. The woman had apparently purchased the property, but defaulted on the payments and signed the land back over. The landowner has the paperwork and told the siblings to stay off the land and to keep their friends and family off as well. * A man on Redwood Hwy. who had a one night stand believes he may be the father to a nine-month old child and is concerned for the baby’s welfare. He thinks the mother has a history of driving under the influence of intoxicants and a drug use history which creates an unsafe environment for the child. He is awaiting paternity test results. Old Stage Road - 12:05 p.m., open burn – ille- gal, 2000 block Happy Camp Road - 1:47 p.m., M.A., 400 block Addison Lane - 4:11 p.m., grass fire, 4000 block Reeves Creek Road Saturday, June 11 - 2:24 a.m., M.A., 500 block Crest Drive - 12:50 p.m., motor vehicle collision, 199 MP 24 Sunday, June 12 - 9:53 a.m., M.A., 600 block Prottsman Way - 11:35 a.m., M.A., Jubilee Park - 3:02 p.m., M.A., 100 block Holton Creek Road - 4:30 p.m., motor vehicle col- lision, 12000 block Takilma Road the alarm and did not have the correct code. Nationwide did reach a responsible person who claimed she set the alarm off in error. * The whole living room of a mobile home at 543 Pinewood Way was on fire at 10:50 a.m. One of the residents was having trouble breathing because he was normally on oxygen, but his oxygen bottle may have started the fire when he fell asleep with a cigarette. No one was allowed inside the fully involved structure because the roof was caving in. * A quad previously stolen from Dave’s Outdoor Power Tools has been recovered. * Stephanie Roseveare and Michael Roseveare were cited for trespass after a reportedly ugly, brawling, physical fight in the 200 block of Forest Creek Road at 4:14 p.m. * Someone in the 1800 block of Boundary Lane was advised to stop harassing a person over in Del Norte County, but then he started harassing the deputy in Del Norte instead. The man said he thought it was someone messing with him pretending to be a deputy when he said that he had a 12-guage shotgun waiting for the deputy. Once the man was advised that the person he was harassing was, in fact, a deputy with Del Norte County, he apologized and promised that it would not happen again. * A gardener on Ken Rose Lane was informed that he could not kill the neighbor’s goat because the goat was not committing a crime by eating his vegetables and medical marijuana. Animal control told the caller to contact the sheriff’s office because they don’t handle livestock. * A woman in the 300 block of North Hussey Ave. (yes, her again) just found a note from her brother-in-law saying her husband in Iraq told him to take the car. She claimed that her brother-in-law has taken all her furniture and that he cancelled her ATM card by pretending to be her husband when calling the bank. When sheriff’s office deputy told her they could not take a stolen vehicle report until they talked to her husband, she hung up the phone. * It seemed a bit suspicious that a man in his 60s and a 9- year-old boy with a Mohawk came to an RV resort looking for a permanent camping spot. The man was driving a white Dodge Ram pickup with a travel trailer and Texas plates, but he said they recently relocated from Arizona and are looking for place to stay. Wednesday, June 8 * Apparently, happened today. Thursday, June 9 Sunday, June 5 * No one was cited for the traffic accident by Selma Quick Stop Mart at 1:47 p.m. * The “knock-down, drag- out fight” reported between four or five teenagers at 3:08 p.m. turned out to actually be friends who were engaging in horseplay. They were advised to do so in a better location than the 300 block of East River Street. * A white 2004 four-door Chevy Impala was reported stolen from a driveway in the 200 block of South Old Stage Road at 8:41 a.m. The car had a sticker in the rear window on the driver’s side, new tires and paint and a quarter-tank of gas. * Seven intoxicated teenagers were seen drinking in Jubilee Park at 4:21 p.m. The young lady wearing a bright pink shirt with a rhinestone butterfly and holding a bottle of vodka was given a ride to the C.J. substation for a breathalizer test. She was counseled about her actions and released to her mother. * Two men were said to be stealing and burning marijuana on a burn pile at 9:58 a.m. * A man called from Evergreen Elementary and said that several juveniles were harassing him, but when he picked up a phone to call 911 they left at 11:42 a.m. * A fish-shaped mailbox valued at $500 was cut off at the post in the 200 block of Barnes Way. A $75 hand cart was also stolen, probably to haul off the catch of the day. * After a truck sat at an auto body shop for more than a year, the owner went to pick it up and found that the seats had been removed. * A man from the Kerby High Pines trailer park was upset because his ex-caregiver was taking her time returning his items.
