All persons listed are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Friday, March 4 * Even though the woman calling from Kerby High Pines Trailer Park claimed that she had a fat lip from a man hitting her, the deputy did not see any marks on her face that would indicate that she had been punched or slapped. The deputy was unable to locate the suspect because the highly uncooperative woman hung up on the dispatcher and slammed the door on the deputy. * Selmac Auto Service reported that someone paid them with an $89, non-sufficient funds check. * There was no evidence of a crime, but a woman reported that a white pickup struck her while she was riding her power chair on Caves Hwy. at S. Junction Ave., while the truck driver claims he did not see her. * Richard James Roy, 41, was booked at the Josephine County Jail for a probation violation with a blood alcohol count of .12 percent. His fellow Jubilee Park partiers, Gary N. Baida, 45, and Dennis Edge, 48, were instructed to contact their probation officers at 8 a.m. Monday. Once in jail, Roy added a couple new warrants to his collection, including failure to appear on third-degree robbery and theft charges. Saturday, March 5 * Responding to an alarm just after midnight on N. Redwood Hwy., a man found that although his building looked secure, a window was broken at the Dragon Gate Restaurant. Two youngsters wearing hoodies and ski masks ran from the restaurant, dropped an Oregon Ducks hat and jumped into a “low- rider vehicle with spoke rims.” * George Anthony Middel, 24, was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, with a blood alcohol content of .14 percent, after a traffic stop on Redwood Hwy. at Pugetville Road. * Although a caller complained about an intoxicated driver of a red Toyota Camry, deputies followed a vehicle matching the description for five miles and were unable to spot any bad driving habits. * Deputies attempted to return a driver’s license that had been stolen from a woman, but there was no answer when they knocked on her door in the 500 block of Schumacher. * Leon Tyler Eells, 39, and Joseph David Ainsworth, 32, were cited at Cave Junction Municipal Court for pedestrians failing to yield to a vehicle in the 100 block of S. Redwood Hwy. * Charles Derieft Brooks, 63, was warned about trespassing at Illinois Valley Real Estate. * A family taking a drive up Eight Dollar Mountain Road felt like they were in danger because a man in his 60s, dressed in camouflage and a green canvas hat, asked if they were miners. Sunday, March 6 * Two intoxicated people somehow lost their keys and their white 1998 Buick Century while partying at a tavern in Kerby. The couple did not want to leave the area because they felt the car might just come back if they waited there long enough. (Folks, I am not making this up, it comes straight from the police logs, I swear!) * Protective homeowners on Westside Road didn’t appreciate people doing drug deals on their property, and the drivers of the grey Dodge Neon and Mercedes SUV were ordered to leave. * Cowboy boots with writing on them, and a bag of trash left on property in the 16000 block of Redwood Hwy., were considered a restraining order violation. * Arlene Erickson, 33, and her 3-year-old son Ezekiel Elijah Wilkinson were reported as missing by the boy’s father, Michael K. Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson claimed that no one in the family had heard from Arlene, and she failed to appear for a court date for final hearing in a custody case. Erickson is described as 5’9”, 155 pounds, with very dark, long hair. The boy is 3’6”, 38 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes, and both child and mother have some Asian facial features, specifically in the eyes. The woman has a tribal- looking tattoo with a triangle with a heart and barbs on her left arm below her shoulder, and a Star of David tattoo on her stomach. She was last seen driving a black Dodge/ Plymouth van. * Terrance Morris Lankford, 45, broke up an altercation between Mark William Iloff, 57, and Lenard Anthony Williams, 50, at 9 p.m. in the Kerby High Pines Trailer Park. At 11:30 p.m. Ilhoff called 911 at least ten times, saying he was bleeding from the face, but refused medical transport three times. Monday, March 7 * Kandi L. Redwood Hwy. * Jeffrey Allan Staab, 42, was cited for operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone, and for failure to yield to a pedestrian at the crosswalk at East Watkins and Caves Ave. And they say walking is good for your health! * Ronald Leroy Satterfield, 38, was arrested on a Jackson County warrant for failure to appear on driving while under the influence of intoxicants charges. The other seven or eight Jubilee partiers were spared — this time. * Gregory Wayne Sampley, 58, was warned about walking down the middle of the roadway on S. Old Stage Road at Wells Drive. * Graffiti was spray painted on a fence in the 500 block of Deer Creek Road. * Nobody told the 7-year-old boy on Clear Creek Road that they were playing Hide and Seek, so he called 911 to report his father and sister missing. * Cars swerved to miss a heavy- set, dark-haired man standing in the middle of Watkins Street, swinging a Carhart-type jacket around. Tuesday, March 8 * Gregory Wayne Sampley was back in Josephine County jail on second-degree criminal trespass charges at Jubilee Park, and cited to appear in C.J. Municipal Court for alcohol prohibited on public premises. * “Filthy Rich” potting soil and $200-$300 worth of empty cans were reported stolen from Shop Smart‘s chain-link enclosure; the potting soil was found in bushes next to the Junction Inn. * Tools were taken from a house under construction in the 500 block of Schumacher. * Jerry’s Towing removed a recovered stolen vehicle found on Lakeshore Drive at McMullen Creek Road. The vehicle was completely burned, used to be white, and may have been anything from a Mitsubishi to a newer model Buick. Wednesday, March 9 * A man in a small white newer pickup ended up in a ditch as he was chasing a female running down Caves Hwy. at Chapman Creek Road. * Crooks on Crooks Creek Road (where else?) cut chains and broke doors into a pottery studio, stealing $5,000 worth of items. * There’s no room at the Junction Inn for Dyarla Jean Burns, 43, and Russell Richard Brummett, 39 — they have both been warned for trespass in the open lot next to Junction Inn and the old Pizza Pit location. Thursday, March 10 * Concerned that a goat kept hanging himself by the rope he was tied to, a man flagged down animal control. The officer advised the man to free the goat from the tree. When the man did so, the animal control officer stated that the goat was now fine, and left. * Phil Yves Fraser, 56, was cited to appear on a Josephine County warrant for failure to appear on second-degree theft charges. * Brian Fletcher Ellington, Jr., 19, was booked at the Josephine County Jail for burglary, criminal mischief, theft and menacing charges after an incident in the 5600 block of Rockydale Road.
