Charges can be amended or dismissed.) * * * Tuesday, June 12 *Michael Scott Tice, 53, was cited on a charge of sec- ond-degree criminal mischief after someone threw a rock through a pickup truck win- dow. Also, it was said he’d thrown nails on the complain- ant’s Norman Road drive- way. Wednesday, June 13 *Following a 3 a.m. call to report an unwanted contact, Wade K. Holder, 31, was lodged in Josephine County Jail on charges of harassment, interfering with a 911 call and violation of a no-contact or- der. Thursday, June 14 *Some $200 and a cash register, boxes of candy and a mountain bike that was to be raffled were stolen from the concession stand at Jubilee Park, a caller reported. *Someone had been fraudulently cashing checks belonging to a man who has- n’t lived in the area for more than four years, a New Mex- ico resident said. The bank from which the funds were withdrawn was to contact Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety with more informa- tion. Friday, June 15 *Her father was lying in her yard at 12:45 a.m. and refusing to go back to his own house, a caller in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. complained. She was told to lock her door and leave him alone until a deputy arrived. *A Takilma Road resi- dent said that her landlord was relocating her belongings to the roadside. The soon-to- move renter said that she’d phone again “if anything shows up missing.” *Thieves targeted a busi- ness in the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy., prying open the front door to gain entry, it was reported. *Two gold and gemstone rings valued at $6,000 were reported missing from a Caves Hwy. residence. *The driver of a vehicle overturned in the 9000 block of Holland Loop said that she’d been run off the road way by another driver. *The shirtless, brown- haired driver of a white Volks- wagen rear-ended her as she was stopped to turn from Red- wood Hwy. said a woman in Kerby. The offending vehicle left toward Grants Pass, it was reported at 4:46 p.m. *In front of a Downtown CJ restaurant, a driver parked his vehicle in a handicapped space, but was not in posses- sion of a placard. When con- fronted, he said, “I’ll park anywhere I want.” It was said that the man went to another cafe across the street. *As he does on a regular basis, a man was riding an ATV “back and forth” on Kerby Avenue, a neighbor reported at 3:50 p.m. *The driver of a vehicle which nearly struck a patrol car head-on on Caves Hwy. stated he was swerving to miss an animal. He was warned for failure to drive on the correct side of the road- way and advised never to swerve to avoid an animal. *Around 7:30 p.m. a caller from the 200 block of N. Redwood Hwy. reported a dog which had been shot in the head. The animal control office was notified, but there was no one to respond. *A man and woman were reported fighting in the 400 block of S. Redwood Hwy. at 9:25 p.m. It was said that she’d punch him and he would continue to follow her around while they yelled at one another. The two were separated for the night. *Daniel Z. Harper, 22, was cited on a charge of driv- ing with no insurance, and warned for defective head and tail lights on Redwood Hwy. at River Street at 9:43 p.m. Saturday, June 16 *Noise from a loud ex- plosion or fireworks was heard from parties at the “ring beach campground” in the 10000 block of Illinois River Road a between midnight and 1:23 a.m. *Intoxicated and loud, some men at a Lake Selmac campground were reported throwing rocks, driving their trucks around and being gen- erally disorderly around 1:30 a.m. *Two gunshots were heard in Downtown CJ near 3:30 a.m. The caller then said that a loud vehicle was heard being driven away. *Intoxicated and disor- derly, six men contacted at Jubilee Park were trespassed for the day. *An apparently intoxi- cated driver was reported on Redwood Hwy. at Rough & Ready Lumber Co. headed for Cave Junction. Following a search of the stopped vehi- cle, Stacey Rachelle Earnest, 32, was charged with posses- sion of methamphetamine and taken to county jail. *In response to an 11:36 p.m. report of an intoxicated and suicidal person with a knife, a 21-year-old woman was transported to Three Riv- ers Community Hospital on a peace officer’s mental hold. Sunday, June 17 *Some 10 gunshots were heard in the 10000 block of Illinois River Road at 12:25 a.m. *A woman was con- cerned at 3:45 p.m. because her 19-year-old daughter had gone walking “off into the woods” near Lake Selmac and had not been seen in more than an hour. The young woman returned safely, having walked around the lake. *A 36-year-old man, reported “bleeding all over the place” on Watkins Street at 7:12 p.m., was the apparent victim of a stabbing, though neither he nor any of the wit- nesses on scene would talk about it. He was taken to Three Rivers Community Hospital, treated and released. *Screaming and crying, a woman was reported standing in the middle of White Schoolhouse Road at 8:30 p.m. When contacted, she said that she was distraught about a sick dog. *Cathryn Nein, 40, was cited on a Douglas County warrant charging endangering the welfare of a child. *Gunshots were heard in the 1200 block of Laurel Road at 8:35 p.m. Monday, June 18 *At least a half-dozen callers from within an area between Hanby Lane and Walters Road began reporting hearing gunshots or firecrack- ers around 1:40 a.m. Callers said that the activity contin- ued for more than an hour. A responding officer could not locate the noise, and heard nothing. *A motion alarm was activated at I.V. Golf Course pro shop because of a running fan, it was said, which knocked something over. *Near Store Gulch on Illinois River Road, a woman said that three young men in a big, white pickup truck at- tempted to run over her, and made verbal threats before departing toward Redwood Hwy. *A blue Chevrolet pickup truck was reported stolen from the 37000 block of Redwood Hwy. *A Suzuki motorcycle was reported stolen from a carport on Holland Loop. *Having told her she “needed to make time to talk to him,” a man was said to be harassing a woman in Down- town CJ. His probation offi- cer was notified. *A man reported that he returned to his broken-down pickup truck left at a turnout on Kerby Mainline to dis- cover two tires slashed and the passenger door’s dam- aged, as if it had been rammed. The damage was estimated at $2,000. *While out of town, a Lone Mountain Drive resi- dent said, two utility trailers and a three-axle dump truck were stolen from his property. He suspected he knew who’d done it. *The owner of a stolen, blue Nissan found near O’Brien Store with four flat tires was notified of its recovery. *On Lakeshore Drive, Anne Marie Pinios, 70, was cited on a charge of speeding: 67 in a posted 55 mph zone. And she was warned for driv- ing without insurance. *Danyel Jean Deanne May, 33, was cited on a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (DUII) when contacted in the 25000 block of Redwood hwy. around 9 p.m. Her vehi- cle was impounded. *Troy C. King, 25, was cited on a warrant charging two counts of unlawful use of a stun gun, plus menacing and harassment. *Frank Silveria Spencer, was cited on charges of DUII (blood alcohol content .19), reckless driving, reckless en- dangerment, speeding, driv- ing without insurance and violation of the open con- tainer law when contacted on School Street at 11:15 p.m. He also was cited on a war- rant charging failure to appear on a charge of DUII, and warned about failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. His vehicle was impounded. Tuesday, June 19 *Approximately 104 Vicodin tablets were reported stolen from a Crooks Creek Road residence. *Cited on a charge of following too closely on Waldo Road was Stephen P. Wytcherley, 35. *Cheryl Ann Conas, 43, was cited on a charge of driv- ing uninsured and driving with a suspended license (DWS) in the 32000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 4 p.m. *Courtney O’Connell, 21, was cited on a charge of speeding on Redwood Hwy. in the 32000 block . *In the 27000 block of Redwood Hwy. a woman re- ported receiving a harassing phone call, whereby a man stated that “if the motorcycle is not returned, someone (at her location) was going to die.” *“Rapid gunfire” oc- curred on a Warren Road property for several minutes, a caller said at 9 p.m. *An intoxicated man was attempting to get into some- one else’s car on Pine Cone Drive at 1:13 a.m. *It was reported that two men were fighting on the ground as a result of a possi- ble fender-bender amid con- struction on Redwood Hwy.
