The committee consists of 10 members. Five must live within the city of Grants Pass and five within other parts of the county. Meetings generally are held on first Tuesdays in Grants Pass City Hall at noon. The committee works to implement the “Non- Motorized” chapter of the Master Transportation Plan by seeking input from the community. Members also coordinate and disseminate information for public infor- mation about biking and walking routes and rules and serves as a resource and advi- sory group regarding bike and pedestrian trails for the city and county. Charges can be amended or dismissed.) * * * Tuesday, May 8 *An irate father wanted to prosecute the 20-something man who gave rum to his 17- yar-old daughter in Jubilee Park, resulting, he said, in her being in intensive care at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. Thursday, May 10 *Cash, ID and letters were said to be in a black bag that fell from a man’s walker in Downtown Cave Junction. *At Lake Selmac a woman reported that a man she said “Hi” to near an out- house replied that he “was in Vietnam and I need to shoot you in the head.” *Deputies tried to inves- tigate a reported beating of one man by another in the 300 block of Caves Avenue. The suspect was thought to be possibly intoxicated. *There was a report that a man in O’Brien had lost approximately $50,000 be- cause of an unscrupulous care-taker in another part of the state. *Disorderly conduct was noted at a Cave Junction bar in connection with a man who entered it with his child, 3, apparently to see his wife there. *Yelling and screaming by several people were re- ported in Downtown O’Brien shortly before 10 p.m. *A man in Cave Junction said that his vehicle hood, valued at $250, was stolen. THOUGHTLESS DUCK VANDAL - Selma residents Bruce & Bonnie Perry discovered a male Mallard duck at Lake Selmac on Monday, May 7, that had been shot through its head with a blowgun dart. Bruce returned several days later, and found that the duck was still alive and acting nor- mally. ‘He was still running around pretty good and doing well,’ said Bruce. The incident was reported to the Oregon Dept. of Fish & Wildlife, and the Josephine County Parks Dept. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to phone the county parks office at 474-5285. In the top photo it appears that two of the Mallard’s buddies are monitoring him carefully, perhaps making derogatory comments about paddling around with a dart in his head. And some attempted humorists have said that if the duck had a concealed weapons permit, the insult of the dart in his head could have been avoided. The haul is worth ap- proximately $400,000 to $500,000, OSP said. subsequent search led to the discovery of approximately 171 pounds of marijuana in the trunk. The illegal weed was in 12 individual heavily wrapped bales. The driver showed a false Washington driver li- cense, OSP said.
