SELMA EVENTS - A pancake breakfast will be served at the Selma Community & Education Center on Saturday, May 22 from 8 to 11 a.m. followed by a swap meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. IMMANUEL SPRING CONCERT - “One Love Spirit Choir” will present a Spring Concert at Immanuel United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 22 at 4 p.m. The program will feature a South African freedom song, a Sephardic Jewish chant to a chorus by Handel, a modern setting of a poem by Robert Frost, and more. GRADUATION ROSES - Illinois Valley High School will need roses for commencement on June 3. Arch bearers will gather roses the morning of the 3rd. Guild major ‘do’ Saturday The Southern Oregon Guild will hold a general members meeting and din- ner Saturday, May 22 at the county building, 102 S. Redwood Hwy. in Cave Junction. The meeting will begin at 5 p.m.; dinner following. Besides Guild mem- bers; artists and artisans interested in joining can attend. “Meet the members, eat dinner, and find out more about the Guild,” said the organization. Peo- ple should bring their own beverages. Jerry Work, president, said, “This will be an im- portant session for all the Guild members, as we will plot out the programs and member services people want to see the Guild spon- sor over the next year.” Members will vote on submissions by members designing a graphics iden- tity for the Guild. The win- ning design will receive a cash prize. Artists and artisans who live in Illinois Valley, as well as the Grants Pass, Medford, and Brookings areas, can come meet members in a social setting and learn about Guild pro- grams being planned to help artists become more commercially successful with their art or craft. They will relocate to Lewiston, Idaho, where she will pastor a congregation of some 200. The family has been in Cave Junction four years, after moving from a location 30 miles from Lewiston.
