Question: “Can I still be eligible for hos- pice services even though I don’t have cancer?” Answer: Yes! At Lovejoy Hospice about 60 to 60% of our pa- tients do not have can- cer. They have diagno- ses of C.O.P.D., ALS, congestive heart fail- ure, cardiac disease, Alzheimer’s Disease, liver disease, kidney disease and diabetes, stroke, etc. The care of each person is indi- vidualized because the symptom management varies widely. Medi- care and most insur- ance companies do require a six months or less prognosis (life ex- pectancy). 939 S.E. 8th St. 474-1193 or 1-888-758-8569 Email: Christina@lovejoyhospice.org
