Illinois Valley News, Cave Junction, OR Wednesday, January 21, 2004 Page 4 Free scholarship workshops set by RCC in Grants Pass St. Patrick of the Forest Catholic Church On the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, two readings speak about scrolls unrolled to reveal passages containing valu- able words of wisdom. Today, when we see the word “scroll” our first thought may be arrow keys on a computer keyboard that allow us to move around in a document or file. These documents or files may also contain valuable words of wisdom on a wide range of topics. How we use the words determines their real value and importance; much like the words in Biblical scrolls. The key is interpreta- tion, and this is where we rely on the Holy Spirit to assist us. Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Peter the Rock; or so Jesus called him. He was the one to profess Jesus as messiah and was given the role of administering the church and teaching its members. Its cornerstone was and is Jesus, but Peter the Rock had the job of imple- menting His teachings. Our job is to learn these teachings and live our lives by them.
