Friends of the Illinois Valley Library Annual Book Sale 2003 Friday & Saturday - Sept. 26 & 27 Kerby H 2 0 now on tap Presentation of an or- dinance confirming forma- tion of the Kerby Water District (KWD) was to occur on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 12:30 p.m. in the RCC Belt Bldg. in Kerby. The presentation to citizens of the Kerby com- munity was to be made by Josephine County commis- sioners. Board members of KWD are Gail Lebowitz, John Plute, Sharon Miller, Geraldine McLean and Shirley Fredrickson. Plans call for the city of Cave Junction to pro- vide water to KWD as a single customer through one meter. The district will handle individual billings. Each KWD customer will be billed by the dis- trict for a minimum $25 per month for the first 500 cubic feet of water used. The district and city will coordinate installation of meters and equipment. The city will provide basic operation and main- tenance of KWD’s distri- bution system. The Kerby community has for years depended on individual wells and the Kerby Ditch Association, but connecting to the city of Cave Junction’s system will provide a reliable, steady and sanitary supply. Calls to the county economic development office were not returned by press time.
