Schacher, 50, was cited on a charge of speeding in Down- town Cave Junction. *David A. Rodri- gues, 28, was cited on a charge of speed- ing in Downtown CJ. *In Downtown CJ, Beverly S. Etchart, 62, was cited on a charge of speed- ing. *A loud car alarm was checked at the CJ Post Office at 2:33 p.m. *Trespassing, possibly by someone who has a key, was complained about in the 500 block of Caves Hwy. *At the Goodwill store in Downtown CJ, a man caused a problem by plugging in Christmas lights when asked not to. *In the 9000 block of Takilma Road, a man, who has a video camera attached to his mail- box, said that a truck keeps coming and going. He asked for extra patrol. *No injuries were reported in a single- vehicle crash into a ditch near milepost 33 of Redwood Hwy. at 5:25 p.m. *A citizen was suspicious about a vehicle parked par- tially in bushes on McMullen Creek Road. *Today and dur- ing other days in this report, drivers were warned about actions including speeding, not obeying stop signs, defective head lights, and not using head lights when re- quired. *Angelique C. Beck, 21, was cited on a charge of driv- ing-while-suspended violation in Down- town CJ. *Loud music, possibly at the resi- dence of someone who has a police scanner, was reported in Kerby at 10:34 p.m. *A southbound car weaving all over the road was reported at 11 p.m. at the top of Hay’s Hill. Friday the 13th *Harassment was termed unfounded on Holton Creek Road after a 1:15 a.m. complaint that a woman was scream- ing and yelling; slammed the door; and was locked in a bedroom. There ap- parently had been an argument about TV volume. *Two people were warned after a telephonic harass- ment complaint from Upper Deer Creek Road. *Following a crash on a CJ parking lot, one driver fled and eluded those try- ing to keep up. *“Dialing error” was blamed on a 911 hang-up call from Hogue Drive. *A man wearing a red baseball cap (and other clothing) ran from Shop Smart with unpaid-for meat, and dropped it while fleeing. *A BLM thin- ning project on Kerby Mainline prompted a call about illegal wood-cutting. *When electrical power was inter- rupted, someone was worried about a pos- sible accident at 3:12 p.m. at Redwood Hwy. and Watkins Street. *Criminal mis- chief in the form of pouring oil into a well was reported on Rockydale Road. *Advice about visiting hours was given a girl, 17, at 8:48 p.m. at Laurel Cemetery. *At 10:33 p.m. a bicycle in a ditch was checked on N. Old Stage Road. *Some sort of t r e s p a ss in g wa s logged at Siskiyou Community Medical Center at 10:43 p.m. *Loud music was complained about in the 9000 block of Takilma Road at 10:53 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 *Extra patrol was logged at 1:10 a.m. at Illinois Valley Golf Course. *No crime was found after what looked like a distur- bance at the north end of CJ, and turned out to be one man trying to give another a ride at 2:17 a.m. *Down a steep e mb a n k m e n t on McMullen Creek Road, a stolen vehi- cle was recovered. *Some sort of water problem, with the possibility of flooding, was han- dled on W. Lister Street. *Near 3000 Lakeshore Drive a vehicle was towed as a traffic hazard at 5:09 p.m. *High water in the 5500 block of Lakeshore Drive was to be taken care of Josephine County Public Works. Sunday, Dec. 15 *No problem was located at 12:12 a.m. after a medical alarm on Ollis Road. *Helen K. Clark- Rust, 43, was cited and released on a DUII charge at 2 a.m. in Kerby. *There was a call about a woman breaking a $100 win- dow in a trailer in the 8000 block of Takilma Road at 2:15 a.m. *“Bad weather” was blamed for 911 hang-up call from Raymond Street at 4:19 and 11:12 a.m. *It was “verbal only” in CJ when grandparents argued about grandchildren. *A very large knife was found in the 8000 block of Takilma Road. *All was OK af- ter a 911 hang-up call from CJ. It was a son and father having an argument. *No problem was found after an alarm at Evergreen Federal Bank in CJ at 9:50 p.m. *In CJ a young girl, reported as a runaway person the day before, returned home. *An unoccupied vehicle with its dome light on was checked in Downtown CJ at 10:47 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 *High water in spots was reported in the 2000 block of Deer Creek Road at 12:09 a.m. *High water was logged at 12:53 a.m. in the 1700 and 2800 blocks of Dick George Road. *Strong wind apparently caused an alarm at Stevereno’s Family Restaurant at 2:54 a.m. *Pacific Power and county public works responded to a power line problem at 3:44 a.m. in the 7000 block of Holland Loop. A large pine tree was on lines in the area. *Damage to a fence on W. River Street was to be re- paired by the driver of a car. *No problem was located after a 911 hang-up call from a CJ business. *Aaron L. Clouser, 28, was ar- rested outside a CJ store under three war- rants. *After a Westside Road resi- dent said that he was assaulted and that his vehicle was hit by an ax, Casie L. Schaffer, 19, was arrested at the valley substation on charges of assault IV/domestic, and criminal mischief II. *Trespassing was complained about in the 9500 block of Takilma Road, and the complainant was advised of civil op- tions. *Following a report from a father in the 500 block of Caves Hwy. about his son getting in his face, both parties were counseled. *The case of a deer that died after being struck by a car at Rockydale Road and Stillwater Way was logged. *Some sort of situation involving a woman being ejected from a CJ was noted. *There was con- cern by a CJ resident that an intoxicated man with a key to a vehicle might drive it. *Criminal mis- chief was reported in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. in- volving damage to a locked storage shed. *Two dogs were let into their owner’s house in the 22000 block of Redwood Hwy. by an unknown person, said the owner. He added that they fought, and that as a result his house was bloody and de- stroyed. *A security check was conducted at Lorna Byrne Mid- dle School at 10:11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 *Someone on W. Lister Street kept dialing 911 and hang- ing up. Subsequently a boy, 3, was spoken to about use of 911. *A case of sec- ond-degree burglary was reported at Val- ley Farm & Garden. *In Cave Junc- tion, Alan J. Fry, 35, was issued a citation to appear on a charge of contempt of court. *Two boys left their rural CJ home and wouldn’t return. Assistance was ren- dered. *In Selma a woman reported the loss of a cell phone. *Information about how to proceed was provided a com- plainant in CJ, who said that a man, 22, was having sexual relations with a girl, 16, who is a chronic runaway person. *Theft of two sets of tire chains from a semitruck was reported at a Selma business. *Near Selma a man was warned about carrying a dog on an external part of a vehicle. *Someone took 20 checks and forged them, said a resident in the 22000 block of Redwood Hwy. *There was a 911 “misdial” from a CJ business at 3:39 p.m. *Possibly intoxi- cated people with two dogs in the rear of their pickup truck were noted in CJ. *No inju ries were listed in a roll- over accident in the 39000 block of Red- wood Hwy. Wednesday, Dec. 18 *Help was pro- vided with a runaway boy in CJ. *Civil compro- mise was to be achieved after one person said that an- other’s driving caused a rock to break one of his car windows on the park- ing lot of Selma Community Center. *Grinches took a wreath off the door, pulled plants out of a planter and dumped out dirt at Sage Bee- tle. *Following a report that someone was firing a rifle across Kerby Mainline from a ve- hicle, no vehicle was located. *Following a complaint at Shop Smart, Carol A. Smith, 16, was ar- rested on charges of burglary II and theft III and taken to the Juvenile Justice Cen- ter in Grants Pass. *While Services to Children & Fami- lies interviewed a mother in rural CJ, a deputy stood by. *An unidentified donkey was said to be wandering in the 4000 block of Dick George Road. *Another Grinch broke a window, us- ing a glass jar, at a business in Down- town CJ. *Marijuana found one Pinecone Way was to be de- stroyed. *Following a report that two boys fought on Hogue Drive, a report on assault IV/domestic was to be referred to the juvenile depart- ment. *The possibility of an intoxicated woman driving from a CJ bar was to be checked. *Theft of a “No Trespassing” sign was reported on Up- per Deer Creek Road. *John L. Hawk, 20, was cited near milepost 28 of Red- wood Hwy. on charges of defective tail lights, failure to carry insurance, and no valid operator’s license. *Woody J. Nel- son, 17, was cited on a charge of DWS infraction, careless driving in Selma. *Following a report of possible child abuse in CJ, it was determined to be a child who didn’t want to take a bath. *Kidnapping in CJ turned out to be untrue, and it was thought that the com- plainant might have overreacted because the couple had just had an argument. Thursday, Dec. 19 *Extra patrol at I.V. Golf Course was logged at 12:54 a.m. *Robert P. Car- rier, 17, was cited at I.V. High School on a charge of minor in possession of to- bacco. *A hostile com- plainant phon ed about reroofing mate- rial being put on his property. *Officers were advised about two men trying to sell stereo equipment from the rear of their car for any amount of money. *Two candy ma- chines and a bicycle frame were found behind the LDS Church in CJ. *Transportation was provided a woman and child after their car ran out of fuel in rural CJ at 9:52 p.m. Support the merchants who advertise in the ‘Illinois Valley News’
