Tribal Honor Guard is keeping active
The CTSI Honor/Color guard has been active this spring and early sum-
mer. Proudly wearing their new uniform, they will be seen in their vests and
blue shirts, in future functions or events. The uniforms serve as a meaningful
reminder of the value of each Honor Guard member.
In April, they were requested to be the Honor Guard for the Lane County
Community College Native American Student Association Pow-Wow. They
have since participated in a few more events, and will continue to attend as
many events as possible before the years end.

further expanding care options for
the community.
This much-needed clinic will be a
valuable asset to Tribal Members who
reside in Lincoln City and Chinook
Winds Casino employees who may not
have the time or means to have their
health needs met in Siletz.
The current basement build-out
happening at the Siletz clinic will
expand the much-needed space for
employees, a demonstration kitchen
and community activities. This long-
awaited expansion has been neces-
sary for some time, with the current
timeline estimating completion in
nine months pending any potential
construction challenges.
A mobile Health Unit that will
be used in crisis response is also in
the works. This mobile unit will be
utilized by programs such as CARES,
Behavioral Health and MAT. The unit
is expected to take 14 months to com-
plete, with 8 months of development
already underway.
SCHC is implementing “Tribal
Best Practices” as billable services,
starting with a few to ensure ethical
and thoughtful integration. Many of
these services are already available in
our community and structured billing
will help secure funding to enhance
and expand them.
The goal is to maintain cultural
relevance while strengthening sup-
port for our tribal membership.
A few examples of Tribal Best
Practice services are Culture Camp,
Pow-Wows, Sweat Lodges, Healthy
Relationships and Family Unity. As
this program strengthens there is the
intention to include more services
in the new feature. The clinic staff is
pleased to share that they have suc-
cessfully renewed their accreditation
with the Accreditation Association for
Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
This re-accreditation signifies a
commitment to high-quality health-
care standards in ambulatory settings,
ensuring patient safety and continu-
ous quality improvement.

STAHS Honors Sea Legs Media with
Pendleton Blanket
Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society honored Jacob Bailey, owner of Sea
Legs Media with a traditional Pendleton blanket for their outstanding work
on the documentary, "Those Who Remember." This esteemed gift celebrates
Sea Legs Media's sensitive and powerful portrayal of vital tribal narratives.
Sharon Edenfield, Vice-Chairman of Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society
said, "Sea Legs Media helped us share our members history, creating a mas-
terpiece that truly honors 'Those Who Remember.'"
The film, which delves into the termination and restoration era of the
Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, has been lauded for its capture of voices
of that period.
Siletz Tribal Veterans
We are planning an ocean fishing trip for CTSI Veterans.
When: August 23, 2025
Where: At Yaquina Bay Charters in South Beach, OR.
Seating will be limited so please registar
no later than August 4, 2025.

Participants will need to provide their own
transportation to South Beach.
If you need a fishing license they are available to tribal
members by contacting the Natural Resources Department
in the administration building.

This will be a good time to meet other veterans and enjoy
a day on the ocean.
Funding for this event is through a grant provided by the Oregon
Department of Veteran Affairs (ODVA).
