Emerging Tribal storytellers will have opportunities to tell stories from your • Siletz News • October 2016 Tribal heritage with the encouragement and support of region’s finest elder story- tellers who also serve as NISA advisory council members. For the past 11 years, they have passed down the wisdom of their many years through their stories, many of which are threatened and endangered. In the process, emerging storytellers have been able to learn from them and then are able to help to save and share threatened and endangered traditional stories from their own Tribal heritage. As a member of NISA, you will be invited to join us at this year’s 12 th annual American Indian storytelling events and workshops held in the winter in Port- land.
