NikeTalk.com donates to American Indian College Fund DENVER – NikeTalk.com, an online community dedicated to fans of sneakers and sports culture, donated $11,000 in November to the American Indian College Fund for scholarship support to benefit American Indian students. “As the late Harvey S. Firestone once noted, ‘It is only as we develop others that we prematurely succeed,’” said Nelson Cabral, founder of NikeTalk.com. “True success, lasting success, is both inter- personal and inter-generational. By this measure, I can think of no more successful investment than to support the American Indian College Fund in its ongoing mis- General Council Meeting sion to assist thousands of dedicated scholars and cultivate a new generation of leaders.” “We are delighted that NikeTalk.com is dedicated to the intellectual achieve- ment and growth of tomorrow’s leaders in Indian Country through its support of the American Indian College Fund,” said Cheryl Crazy Bull, president and CEO of the College Fund. “A college education will help Native people to succeed in their personal, professional and community goals, and education is changing the face of Indian Country, one person at a time.” The American Indian College Fund (the College Fund) is the nation’s larg- est private provider of scholarships for American Indian students. Founded in 1989, the College Fund has been “Educat- ing the Mind and Spirit” of Native people for nearly 25 years and provides an aver- age of 6,000 scholarships annually. The College Fund also supports the nation’s 34 accredited Tribal colleges and universities located on or near Indian reservations. It consistently receives top ratings from independent charity evalua- tors. For more information, please visit collegefund.org.
