Pepsi - Craig Whitehead
Scholarship
In 2004, Pepsi dedicated this scholar­
ship in memory of Craig Whitehead. This
year, Pepsi donated enough funding to
award seven scholarships at $1,000 each.
A huge thank you to Pepsi for its interest
in the education of Tribal members and
preserving Whitehead's memory.

The Liberty Inn in Lincoln City, Ore.,
has special rates for Siletz Tribal members
and Tribal employees.
The room rate is $69 in the winter
and $89 in the summer, based upon
availability.
This rate includes the inn’s full hot
buffet breakfast and 24-hour shuttle to
and from Chinook Winds Casino Resort.
Meeting space is available for fam­
ily reunions, birthdays and other family
celebrations. Catering also is available
upon request.

Justin Brown - A student at Cheme-
keta Community College working toward
a transfer degree to attend the University
of Oregon. Lori, his mother, is his most
inspirational person because she is strong,
intelligent, takes care of those who cannot
take care of themselves and can create
inspiration from nothing.
Jennifer Coleman - A student at
the University of Oregon majoring in
communication disorders and sciences.
Her husband, Gregory Scott, is the most
inspirational person in her life because
he is a cancer survivor. Throughout this
battle, he retained his sharpness of mind,
unparalleled work ethic and a positive
outlook. He said he would do anything
to support her through school.
Jennifer Cook - A student at Port­
land Community College working toward
a transfer degree in psychology. She then
will transfer to Portland State University.
She admires people who are committed
to change and she is a huge part of her
own inspiration because of what she has
overcome to get to this point in her life.

2013 with a degree in health promotion
and health behavior. Kenneth M. Hatch,
her grandfather, is her most inspirational
person because he had great strength of
character and was a skilled craftsman and
artist who touched the heart of many.
Sage Hatch - A junior at Southern
Oregon University majoring in history
with a minor in Native American stud­
ies who plans to be a teacher. His most
inspirational person is his great-great-Aunt
Lavera “Babe” Simmons, who is a pillar of
strength, confidence, pride and kindness.
Rosa Hernandez-Chavez - A stu­
dent at Chemeketa Community College
working toward a transfer degree in social
sciences. Her Aunt Dawn is the most
inspirational person in her life because
she has been her faithful guide and leader
since she was very young.
Kassandra Rilatos - A full-time
student at Oregon Coast Community
College this fall who initially attended
OCCC as a senior at Siletz Valley Early
College Academy during all three terms
of the 2011-12 academic year. Her most
inspirational person is her father. Phillip
Rilatos Jr.
