UO museum store seeks artwork Nesika lllahee Pow-Wow - Aug. 10-12,2012 The University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History’s museum store, Past and Presents, is seeking a limited number of artists interested in sell ing their original high quality crafts or non-2D artwork for sale on consignment in our museum gift store. Tipi Drawing We invite Pacific Northwest Tribal members to submit four digital images of their work for consideration to Tracey Bell, visitor services coordinator, at tracey@uoregon.edu. The University of Oregon’s Museum of Natural and Cultural History pro tects significant collections, enhances knowledge and encourages stewardship of human and natural history through research, preservation and education. Past and Presents offers a comprehensive selection of regional books and gifts that reflect the museum’s exhibits, collections and research, as well as the inspiration of the Pacific Northwest landscape. It features handcrafted goods from local and regional artists, including jewelry, pottery, basketry and woodworking. Books on anthropology, geology, paleontology, Oregon’s cultural history, archaeology, natural history and an extensive offering of field guides are avail able so you can continue to learn after your visit to the museum. You also can find them online at ctsi.nsn.us or pick them up at the Siletz Tribal Community Center, Tribal administration building in Siletz and at the Tribal area offices in Portland, Salem and Eugene. 2012-2013 hunting, fishing tags distribution schedule The Natural Resources Committee has set the following schedule and methods for distributing this year’s hunting and fishing tags to Tribal members. New this year • • • Deer archery tags are now for forked horn or better bucks (no does or spikes). Disabled deer hunters can no longer harvest a doe, fawn or spike. New elk antlerless hunt - Central Alsea Private Lands (likely one Tribal tag). Can call to have a tag mailed beginning on the second day of distribution. * * Season for youth age 12-17 is 9/29-11/4 (two days extra at end of season). * ** Minus number of tags filled in Early Bow Season NOTE 1: A Tribal member can obtain only one elk tag in their name during the 2012-2013 hunting season (bow, bull and cow tags all count toward the one tag), except as noted below. NOTE 2: First Distribution - For hunters who have not been issued an early season deer archery tag (for deer tags) or any elk tag (for elk tags). Second Distribution - For any eligible hunter, regardless of what other tags they have received.
