Graduates! Aria Gray Leah Downey Utah State University I Taft High School From Selina, Cam and Mateas Aria, we are so proud of you for all your accomplishments in academics and your many extracurricular activities. To have completed one year of college in your senior year is quite an accomplish ment. How wonderful that you have received all the academic scholarships to Willamette University. When you walk across the stage to receive your diploma at Taft High School, know the love of your family is with you. Aria is the daughter of David and Shawna Gray, granddaughter of Bob and Elaine Smith, great-granddaughter of Edward and Dolores Rilatos and niece of proud aunties and uncles. Congratulations, Aria, we are proud of you! From Aunt Ruth, Adam Downey and Kyle Downey Leah Downey graduated from * Utah State University with a bachelor’s degree in English literature on May 7. We are extremely proud of her and know that her father, Patrick Earl Downey, and mother, Jeanette Fisher Downey, are watching from heaven with great pride. We all wish to recognize the Tribe in helping finance her education. Leah is an outstanding example of the great resource the Siletz Tribe is for students on their road to success. We love you, dearest Leah! Chambers opens acupuncture practice; can help with variety of ailments Siletz Tribal member and acupunctur ist Jennifer Chambers recently began her acupuncture practice in Northeast Portland and is excited to offer $50 treatments to all Tribal members. The Tribe reimburses $50 for acupuncture visits with a doctor’s referral, so there would be no additional cost for the Tribal member to cover. Chambers is a graduate of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, where she received her master’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine. She is continuing her studies and pursing a doctorate degree from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. Acupuncture has proved to be extremely successful in treating many conditions and ailments. Many people have tried acupuncture as a “last resort’’ and found that it helped with their com plex medical condition when other treat ments did not. Acupuncture also can be used to support the body’s immunity and prevent disease from occurring by promoting health, energy and vitality. For this reason, people often seek out acupuncture when they are basically healthy but would like to have more energy, better focus and concentration throughout the day and to reduce stress.
