Time to apply for Tribal Youth Educational Employment (TYEE) Program Applications due June 24 for youth who want to gain practical work experience over the summer Siletz Tribal youth age 14-17 are invited to apply for the 2011 Tribal Youth Educational Employment (TYEE) Program. TYEE is an opportunity for youth to gain practical work experience over the summer. The program-begins July 11 and continues until Aug. 15. To qualify: You must be a Siletz Tribal member between the ages of 14-17 who resides within the 11-county service area and is returning to high school in the fall of 2011. Youth age 18 will be accepted if they are returning to high school this fall. To apply: You should receive an application in the mail. If you do not, call or stop by the Tribal office in your area. The contact person for each office is listed at right. This is the only time applications for the 2011-2012 academic year will be accepted. There no longer will be a winter or spring term application process. This is in effect until further notice. Students must file their FAFSA appli cations by Jan. 31,2012, for consideration for the fall term. For parade and vendor applications/entries, please contact Nick Sixkiller at 800-922-1399, exts. 1230 or 1757, or 541-444-8230. You also can find them online at www.ctsi.nsn.us or pick them up at the Tribal Community Center or Tribal administration building in Siletz. Security jobs The committee is looking for individuals with a background in security for security lead positions during the pow-wow. Applications for security lead and other security positions will be available July 1 at the Tribal administration building and the Siletz Tribal Community Center, Culture Office. Applications for all security positions are due by 4:30 p.m. on July 15. Com pleted applications can be submitted to Nick Sixkiller, Felicia Carmona, Mary Dederick or Elaine Greene, members of the pow-wow committee. Orientation for security positions is Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tribal Community Center. Please provide a copy of your Social Security card and at least one of the following - Oregon driver’s license, DMV Oregon ID or Tribal ID - at the orientation.
