Siletz Tribe Surpasses $7.5 Million in Overall Giving Total Includes $209,740 Distributed in Late July The Siletz Tribal Charitable Contri- bution Fund made another round of dis tributions July 31 and the seven-member advisory board has distributed more than r~ —_________ _ __ ________________ ______________________ Arts-$6,950 Newport Symphony Orchestra - concert sponsorship Oregon Symphony Association - High School Outreach Project subsidized tickets Toledo Art Walk - color tri-fold brochure insert in the News-Times Newport, OR Salem, OR Toledo, OR $5.4 million since its inception in 2001. Forty-six organizations shared Cultural Activities - $500 Lakota Oyate Ki - Native Culture Club annual pow-wow food assistance Salem, OR $209,740 in contributions when checks were presented at Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City, Ore. This included $20,000 for the Pacific Communities Health District Foundation for the dialysis center remodel and expansion; $16,000 for the Depoe Bay Fire District for radios and software; $ 14,500 for the Food Share Oregon Food Bank occupancy expense; and $15,000 for the Chetco Historical Memorial Committee for developing and planning the memorial. The Siletz Tribe is proud of its con tributions through employment, monetary donations and cooperative measures to the Siletz community, Lincoln County and the state of Oregon. The Tribe has million through the Siletz Tribal Chari table Contribution Fund and other Tribal resources. Chinook Winds has donated more than $1.75 million in cash and fund- raising items since it opened in 1995. The casino also provides in-kind donations of convention space for various fund-raisers as well as technical support, advertising and manpower for many events.
