It has been very rewarding, working with the Tribal Council and specifically, Delores Pigsley and Alfred "Bud" Lane, who have been so instrumental in providing great leadership. Together we have achieved many accomplishments, creating eco nomic success for the Tribe and the community," said Kikumoto. "With the addition of the hotel and golf course turning Chinook Winds Casino Resort into the Oregon Coast’s premiere destination resort. With a strong management team in place, it’s the right time for me to move on to pursue other interests, including spending more time with my family.” Kikumoto, who has been in the gaming industry for 32 years, had been the gen eral manager at Chinook Winds since 2001. In that time, he has served on numerous community action committees and strove to help the casino make a positive impact on the community. We appreciate Jim’s contributions to the growth and success of the casino over the last eight years,” said Pigsley, chairman of the Siletz Tribe. "We will miss him and wish him every success with his future endeavors.” Pigsley said she expected a smooth transition during this time. “We will continue to ensure that leadership is committed to creating a positive environment for team members and guests,” she said. “I have every confidence that ar Richards will continue to pursue our performance objectives and make every effort to execute our key initiatives effectively.” Dads of Comedy Leave ‘Em Laughing Don't miss this quartet of funny dads that includes Chris Strait, Lawrence Thom as, Dwight Slade and Jason Resler at Com edy on the Coast on April 17-18. The Dads of Com edy is a hilarious 90- minute standup comedy performance featuring four national headlin ers. All come from dif ferent walks of life, but have one thing in com mon - children! Bom and raised in Los Angeles, Strait is a study in what happens when a man spends his Chris Strait formative years standing out. From being the only white guy among black guys in the neighborhood to being the only tall guy among short guys in the boxing gym to being the only man among women in grad school, Strait became an expert on people. If you don't believe it, count the number of times you laugh while saying. "That is so true! He tells it like it is, never losing his smile. Slade is a true lamily man. In the '80s he traveled around the country with his family, pulling a 36-foot fifth-wheel travel trailer. When his second child was bom in the trailer (they were pulled over at the time), he decided to make roots in Portland. Ore. There he was able to concentrate on his career and managed Io accomplish things most comedians never do. 2002 proved to be a banner year for Slade, who became the first standup comic to make appearances at the three major North American Comedy Festivals - Aspen. Chicago and Montreal - in one year. On the heels of his performances, Slade signed a development deal with Warner Brothers Television. He was chosen to appear on HBO's Best of the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival and made an appearance on Comedy Central's Premium Blend. Clever material and strong stage presence have made Resler a crowd favorite at comedy clubs, college campuses and corporate events from coast to coast. He has shown tireless dedication to his craft by hitting the stage more than 320 times in a year Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $15. April 2009 • Siletz News • 21
