Annual Culture Camp Set for July
Culture Camp will take plaee on July 15-17 at the Tribal Community
Center on Government Hill.
The next eamp planning meeting is March 17 at II a.m. at the Cultural
office and is open to interested tribal members.
The committee is having a logo art contest and the deadline to submit
your entry is May I 2. 2008. Please send all entries to the C I SI/C ultural
Programs, P.O. Box 549. Siletz, OR 97380-0549.
Culture Camp is for tribal members and tribal families only. I! children
are under age 10, they must be chaperoned by an adult. Suggested activi­
ties are basketweaving, hand-drum making demonstration, drumstick mak­
ing, bead working, shell necklace making, traditional foods preparation,
flint-knapping, storytelling, fish T-shirt painting, moccasin making and rec­
reational activities.
Overnight camping is available for families who live outside of the Siletz
area. Overnight participants should bring tents, sleeping bags, toiletries,
etc. Campers can arrive on July 14. but meals are not provided on this day.
