He was sworn in as the new presi dent July 12 at the annual Chamber In auguration Dinner held at Chinook Winds’ hotel banquet room. On hand to welcome the new of ficers and honor the outgoing board were many members of the local busi ness community and the Lincoln City Council; Mayor Lori Hollingsworth; Don Lindley, Lincoln County commis sioner; Frank Simmons, Siletz Tribal Council member; Don Kennedy, Chi nook Winds director of Marketing; Sar Richards, Chinook Winds director of Casino Ops; Teresa Simmons, outgo ing board member; and other members of the Chinook Winds staff. When asked how he felt about his new responsibilities as chamber presi dent, Shuping replied, “It’s just such an incredible honor to be chosen as the chamber president and to be a repre sentative on the (chamber) board for Chinook Winds Casino Resort and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.” The Chinook Winds Casino Resort fortunate cash sphere may bounce your way and make you very happy this summertime! Every week, 50 contestants will be chosen and six winners take home a share of $15,000 cash. One lucky contestant will win $10,000 cash! Aug. 12, 19 and 26-5 p.m. Sept. 2-5 p.m. Rudy Shuping Directors who serve on the Cham ber of Commerce Board are nominated by chamber members. A slate of six candidates is selected, followed by an election with each business that is a chamber member casting one ballot, voting for three individuals from the six nominated. Directors serve a three-year term with a two-term maximum.
